My mom moved into Anthem Lakes. I like the service. The staff is very friendly. There's a nurse there 24 hours a day. It's just a great facility. I'm very pleased with it. The food is excellent. They have a well-balanced, three-course meal served there. They have activities going all day, every day. They have bingo, crafts, trivia, football game parties, a little happy hour on Fridays, and social events. They have events where they bus the residents twice a week off campus to the store or to physician appointments.

We toured Anthem Lakes. It was a great experience. The staff was really friendly. The facilities were really, really well kept. The rooms were beautiful. It had a really, really nice layout inside. We checked their dining area, and we got to see a menu. The dining area was beautiful, and their menu looked amazing.

Anthem Lakes was nice. The grounds were very nice. They had a very extensive walking path. The gym was limited though. It was kind of a physical therapy thing where they had a physical therapy staff there. We saw a two-bedroom apartment, but it was kind of small. They also got studios, one-bedrooms, and a one-bedroom with a den. They had a small porch, but there's barely room for a couple of chairs. They have a proper dining room and an activity room.

I went to Anthem Lakes. The atmosphere was pleasant. The layout felt kind of like a two-story apartment, so it was pleasant living. They were having a sewer problem when I was there. I don't take away from them because of that, because something like that happens. But it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms that I looked at were very attractive. I saw the library and activity rooms. They had everything that everybody else had, and it was all clean and neat. I saw a list of their activities and I saw an exercise class going on while I was there. I only interacted with two staff, and they were gracious and pleasant.

We are staying here at Anthem Lakes assisted living, but I am looking for something that's a little bit less expensive that still provides the same services. I like the place because it's close to the church that we go to, it's almost walking distance, and it's close to the Navy Exchange. I'm a retired navy and shop there for what we need. It's also not too far from my house. However, I'm a retired navy and government employee, and all my pension just goes into this place. My wife sleeps in the bedroom. There's a living room next to it, and that's where I sleep. They have all kinds of activities here, and the rooms are good. They have an exercise room, which I use a lot. My wife is really the one that needs the care. I'm just staying with her because sometimes, especially at night, they only have two or three caregivers for the whole building. My wife would need to go to the bathroom constantly, in the middle of the night, because she has a hyperactive bladder. If I am not here, nobody would take her to the bathroom. Sometimes I give her the shower myself and attend to her clothes and dress her in the nightgown to go to sleep. They do that here, that's one of their amenities, but they are just sort of short-staffed during the night, and sometimes even during the day. The staff is very respectful and patient, but just short-handed. If three or four patients are needing help at the same time, and there's only one person who's taking care of them, it would be impossible to take care of all of them at the same time. The amenities are outstanding. They have a beauty salon, a library, and a bar. Next to the dining room, there is a big patio that is open. When my sister and her husband came over to visit, they accommodated us over there. My sister brought their own food and they were able to eat at the big table there. They call that place the sunroom.

I toured Anthem Lakes. All the staff were willing to talk to us when we toured. It was clean. It didn't smell like a nursing home, and everybody was out and about. They just had a flower arranging class when we were going through there. They do painting. They have a hair salon. They have a chapel. They have a little library with computers. They have a whole big outdoor area. I talked to the chef. The dining room was clean, well lit, spacious, and had different areas where you could sit next to a window. It felt homey.

My mother is already at the Anthem Lakes. She has a 2-bedroom and everything is well-maintained, we're completely satisfied with it. Someone's watching her 24 hours and making sure she takes her medicine, she got herself up and everything. And then there's a spiritual adviser through another company to make sure that the facility is doing their job and do what they're supposed to do for her. The staff is wonderful, they care and they go out of their way. The people that work there, like two of the girls saw something in the store that would look on mom and they bought it for her, even though she had money. Those are the type of people out there looking to work. They've got people that they look out for, who we just take a liking to, or even people in the front office in sales and marketing. The lady that convinced us to put my mother there, goes and checks on my mother every day, they call me to let me know whether she's had a rough day or she's had a good day. So she's doing good there, and we go to visit her every week. The place is really about their business. Their dining is like going to a fancy restaurant. They have a waiter or waitress come to the table to let them order their food, and then they just bring it to the table. They'd come to the table and ask the people"What do you want, hamburger?" And they take your order and send it back to the kitchen and fix it. Of course, they ask us what she likes eating every day, and everything that she likes they provide. They make sure she's walking there, and we got a video of her where she was dancing. They do all types of things. They're doing everything they're supposed to be doing in taking care of my mother. What I like about the place is that they're not medicating them with all these different medicines. They try to use more natural medicines like for sleep, they'd give her melatonin at night instead of all the narcotics. It's good value for the money. I'm getting more than what I"m paying for because, in other places that I looked at, they wanted $6000-7000 a month for my mother to be there, but what we pay in here for her is excellent value.

Anthem Lakes is very nice and very clean. The staff is so nice. They make me feel really comfortable being able to take my mother-in-law there. They have single rooms, double rooms, and efficiency apartments with a stove and stuff like that in it. She is in a double room. In the double rooms, you have a room with one person there, then you have another room with a second person, and then you have a common area for both of them to go and sit if they want to watch TV, talk, play cards, or anything, and then they have a bathroom that they share. Twice a week, they have a social get-together where they all go down into a dining/bar area and sit, talk, play, or anything like that. Once COVID is under control, they will be having outings once a week. They also have a classroom where they can do crafts and puzzles, they have a library, and they have bingo. The staff is very knowledgeable. They're not too slow to call me, and they ask what my opinion would be. Everybody I have talked to there is very knowledgeable about everything that is going on there. I could no longer take care of my mother-in-law, so when we took her in there, it was something that had to be done, and they were very helpful about getting everything taken care of for her and getting her in there in a timely manner. My mother-in-law also said that everything that she had eaten so far has been very good. She has not had a problem, had to send anything back, or tell them that she did not care for anything, and the meals that come to them are nice-sized meals. The place is also very reasonably priced.

My husband has been at Anthem Lakes since November. It's very, very nice, but I have not been able to get into his room because of COVID. The staff was very good. They do everything, they keep in contact with me all day long, and they take care of him. I would keep him there; I just wish it was cheaper. There's a pond in the property; he fishes and feeds ducks there. He also plays cards, they paint, and they play all sorts of games, too. He seems to be really happy with the food; he loves it. The community is very clean, and everybody is very friendly, but it's very, very expensive. I think $4000 a month is a lot of money.

Anthem Lakes had a lot of amenities, but it's out of our price range. Everything was very nice there. They were located off a major highway, so you could get out and walk around and not be disturbed by a lot of traffic. It's a pleasant area. They didn't have mah-jong, but they're more than willing to get it started. They're very congenial. They go out of their way to present their place. The size of the facility was very good.

I really like Anthem Lakes. It is very well located. We really like the facilities as far as the rooms. We love the fact that there was an area for gardening. We like everything about it.

I'm strongly considering Anthem Lakes. It is a new shore community close to the ocean. They just had their one-year anniversary in February. They had a beautiful place. Everything seemed to be kept up quite well. They had 14 acres but only two large buildings; one for memory care and the other for independent and assisted living. When you pull in, you feel you're driving into a very nice park. They have walkways all through the grounds, so people can go out. The staff members were very pleasant and accommodating. We had lunch there and it was a very nice experience. The units are new and clean. They designed it to meet the ADA code for all these living facilities. They put some nice finishing touches for people who are in wheelchairs like I am. Anthem Lakes is at the top of my list, but the only thing that has me hesitating is that their units are small and a little more expensive.
