About Lakes Crossing Senior Care in Kingsland, Georgia

The Help You Need ? The Care You Deserve

At Lakes Crossing Assisted Living Community, residents do everything they want to do on their own. When assistance is required, our well-trained, warm and caring staff is there to provide it, no matter what the need. From basic activities of daily living, such as bathing and dressing, to transportation and reminders to take medication. We give care that you and your loved one can rely on. All of our residents receive care delivered with the respect they deserve.

Personalized Service and Support

Every resident is different, and assisted living services means different things to different people. Thats why we begin with a customized assessment of support services requirements before our residents even move in. With this information, we can plan to meet each residents specific needs from day one. We also follow up after move-in to make sure the level of support is sufficient and appropriate. With full-service care in mind, we can make whatever changes need to be made. As a resident ages and has more specific needs, we want to accommodate them. We can modify the level of care delivered as the level of need changes.

In the Assisted Living Community the basic level of care includes:

  • Three balanced meals a day prepared by the communitys chef plus 2 snacks
  • 24 hour staff
  • Daily scheduled activities and social events
  • Dining, shopping, and special events scheduled with transportation
  • Weekly room cleaning
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • General health monitoring

In the Seasons Memory Care community you have a more tailored program, since dementia, which includes Alzheimers, is a progressive disease. Residents have room to walk around inside and outside. They have porches filled with rocking chairs and tables. They have many activities to stimulate brain function and keep smiles on their faces. We securely and closely monitor our Seasons Memory Care community. Many times our Assisted Living community joins in for games.

Consistent and individually tailored programs.

There are many different forms of dementia, caused either by disease or trauma. All are troubling not only for those with the disease, but also for their families. With dementia, a persons world gets smaller, less certain, less safe. Giving consistent care and support for someone with Alzheimers or other forms of dementia can take all your energy, your emotions, and even your family relationships. Lakes Crossing Seasons Memory Care services can help everyone in your family enjoy a better quality of life. Our program is personalized for each person, using their strengths and building a foundation of learning and meaningful activities. Come visit and see firsthand how we have cared for our residents and their families.

Key Principles of Our Memory Care Programming

  • Evaluate each resident to understand his or her unique interests.
  • Keep verbal instruction to a minimum: simple, clear and pleasant.
  • Consider more than just one right way of doing things.
  • Cue residents during activities, encouraging them to participate without assistance, yet assist when indicated.
  • Provide immediate and frequent verbal encouragement.
  • Build on skills and capabilities.
  • Problem-solve beginning with simple to concrete and concrete to abstract.
  • Train residents to work from left to right and top to bottom.
  • Use repetition to promote success and positive engagement.
  • Use programs that build and help retain skills and capabilities.

For Seniors with Memory Loss, Repetition and Positive Engagement Strengthens Connections and Celebrates Life.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I am impressed with how my brother is settling in at Lakes Crossing Senior Care. He was able to help pass out candy on the front porch on Halloween. I have pictures of him being involved in a musical gathering that they had shared on Facebook with me. I was able to share those pictures with my family members here in Michigan. They were very pleased to see that he was involved. He's a retired military nurse, and there are other men there who have military backgrounds and I think that was very helpful. He feels welcomed and there are common threads of background. So, that was very good. My brother has a one bedroom with a nice sized bath. There's an easy, accessible shower with seating to it. He has a kitchenette, a small stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The living room is a nice size. Maybe about 9 by 12 size roughly and he's comfortable in that community. He's been living in Kingsland, Georgia for about 30 years after he retired from the Navy so he's familiar with the area very well, and he can still drive, which is very good. So, he visits his family and that's very nice. I was very impressed with the dining room. It's a very nice setup. There's someone that comes in and plays the piano regularly. I met the chef and my brother was very impressed with the food and that's a plus. I felt the staff were very friendly. I've had very good feedback. My brother needs a little assistance with showering, but in other regards, he's able to take his own medication, and I felt the staff was very, very helpful. I've been in contact with the director via email and I've spoken to Barb, the business manager, and Lisa who is one of the main receptionists there, and I'm very comfortable speaking with her. We moved him in on October 13th and 14th was her daughter's birthday. She lives in Indiana and his phone line wasn't able to be set up until the following Wednesday, but we had asked one of the staff members and my brother had mentioned that he'd like to be able to call his daughter on her birthday on October 14th. The staff were very, very wonderful in making sure that he was able to reach out to his daughter on that day. That was just amazing because we were already heading back towards Michigan and it was really important that he reached out to his daughter on her birthday and they made that happen. I was so pleased. During his first week there on a Wednesday, he was very pleased with the food. They had a lobster tail lunch. It was a nice occasion. They do those special lunches from time to time and he enjoyed that. The facility was very clean. It was decorated very nicely, and in good taste. When you first walk in, the reception is down the hall a bit to the left, there's a nice greeting room, and to the right is a very nice dining room. It was very impressive and nicely decorated. I felt it was very welcoming. The décor was very much in good taste. You felt like you were walking into a home. It was very nice. He has joined Scrabble and Bingo. They had someone come and play guitar, like an evening with music, and he enjoyed that. I walked past what was called a theater room where they have actual theater-type chairs and they have a large screen for special movie nights. I felt comfortable with what's included in the service, like the laundry, and the housekeeping of the apartment, and he's at level one for care and I was very pleased with that introductory fee.

Lakes Crossing Senior Care was a very welcoming place with really nice surroundings. The apartments were nice. The staff during the tour was very informative in describing what they provided as far as levels of care. The apartments were spacious and accommodating. The whole property looked very well maintained. The dining area was really nice.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My wife's aunt has moved into Lakes Crossing Senior Care. So far, it has been wonderful. We think that the caregivers there are part of our family now, and we're praying for them. They're doing an awesome job with what they are dealing with. It's a tough job. My wife's aunt is in a very small room, but she doesn't need much. The room is fine. It looks like the food is pretty good. I have no idea what activities they have in the memory care unit. That's a pretty tough area for them. All they can do is keep up. They have the TVs on, and they put them on the Christian channel. Most of them just walk around in there and they don't really understand what's going on. It's a big job for them to keep up with each one of them and take care of them. They're busy just trying to keep up with them and keep them from hurting themselves, like falling and that kind of thing.

Dad is staying at Lakes Crossing Senior Care. We ended up choosing that place for him, because of its convenience to where I live, the cost, the staff-to-resident ratio, and the overall facility. I like the activities that they had planned daily for those who want to participate. They had a singing group that came in, as well as a dog grooming company for the few residents that have pets. They also have doctors that come there, a movie theater for the residents to use, and a transportation van to take them to different places. It's very clean. The apartments are nice size. The staff seem very knowledgeable and caring.

My aunt is at Lakes Crossing Senior Care. It's a new facility, it hasn't been there five years. They have more amenities and they have a better staff. In terms of the staff, whenever I was there everybody was friendly and cooperative. The food is excellent. During my initial interview, I had a meal with them. They also have activities, I've heard her talk about bingo and they do walking. It's very clean and picturesque. They have amenities like a podiatrist to come in, and they have their hair care and beauty shop.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My father stayed at Lakes Crossing Senior Care just for 30 days. It was very nice. The nurses and the staff were friendly. It had a place convenient for the family to be. The meals were great. They had a nice room that you could go in if you want to have a conference. Overall care for him was very nice. The people were all nice and friendly. It's like one big family. They have activities, outings, and movies. They have stuff to keep them occupied or busy if that's what they wanted to do or could do. It was very clean. You didn't have that odor. It was very sanitized. We ate there and the food was great. I was surprised and very impressed that we have something in our community of that caliber. Everything was good. It's a little on the expensive side. We just went for respite, which is a little bit more compared to a regular permanent stay, but it was worth the money. Everybody was very friendly to me, very nice and very helpful. I have no complaints at all.

Lakes Crossing Senior Care has a courtyard. They don't have activities right now because everything is on restriction. I have eaten there and the food is not terrible. Some of their staff are good but some are terrible. My friend is in a 1-bedroom apartment, it's sufficient but smaller than the others I've seen. I think they could improve on patient care too.

I visited this facility

I visited Lakes Crossing Senior Care. I liked what I saw. I'm considering it for the future. It was great. I spoke with the person responsible for providing me information, and she was very courteous. I didn't get everything answered in terms of the things that I needed, particularly because they're outside of what they offer. Apart from that, everything that was available was explained, and the pricing was explained. The rooms were adequate but small. The dining room was fine. The facility appeared to be more than adequate. In some of the rooms that I looked at the closet was very small and the kitchen unit was small, so those things affected my rating.

Lake Crossing was very nice and seemed to want to accommodate you. For my mother-in-law, it was very nice. The dining area was very nice. The apartment sizes were very accommodating to the people and their needs. The grounds were pretty and well kept. Everything was really nice, and it wasn’t too far from the stores.

Lakes Crossing is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been to, and it has been perfect. It is like one big happy family; it is wonderful. It is a new facility. My friend has a 1-bedroom, a living room, a little kitchen area, and a bath. They have a media room where they do movies, and they have entertainment all the time. They have something every single day to keep them active all the time. They have Bingo, crafts, gospel singers and different entertainers coming in, movie nights, popcorn day, and cooking classes.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My parents have moved into Lakes Crossing Senior Care, and it is excellent. They're very caring, clean, modern-looking, and homey. They have a chef on-site, and the food is very good with a large variety. The dining room is very nice with tables for four. It's a fairly new place, less than two years old. They have painting classes, music, bingo and art activities. They also have cookouts and family activities. They're very accommodating.
