My father is in Greenbriar Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The place seemed clean. It seemed that they had enough staff, but some of that wasn't true after he got there. I go every day to see my father and help take care of him, feed him, and put him to bed, and my daughter bathes him. I think for what it is, it's fine, but I have to go there every day, or one of my four family members. They need more people. I can understand that it's hard to get people in, but they were explaining that they contact an agency when they are short, and they have people come in that really don't know the routine. When I toured the place, they would tell me, "Oh, we do this and that." When we got there, they don't do all that stuff. He keeps getting the same food. He's on a pureed diet. They don't bring something to drink. Sometimes, they don't bring a dessert. Sometimes, it's in a Styrofoam container with plastic utensils, which I don't like. One napkin comes in the prewrapped spoon and fork. My daughter wanted to take him to bingo, but they said there wasn't enough people to play bingo. They needed five people, and I think maybe three was there, but even if one person came, they should have been playing bingo. He just went to the puzzle room. There wasn't anything spectacular in what they were doing. There's a courtyard.

I was skeptical at first but I actually enjoyed myself. The staff was nice and helpful. They would come into my room and laugh and kid around with me to take my mind off of what they were doing to me. Giving me a shot, taking my blood pressure, etc. They had a way of making you feel safe. I had my own room and I loved my privacy. I was treated better there than at home. Wasn't too crazy about the food though. But other than that I would glady recommend Greenbriar to my friends and other family.

At first sight the facility is beautiful. The so called attention to detail was on point until you look beyond the facade of falsehood. We as a family were told my father was "doing great" walked 700ft his first night. So much so they put a wanderer bracelet on him. Meanwhile, my father has early onset white matter disease and is unable to walk 700 ft without assistance. But low and behold. We were hopeful. And erredon the side of caution were we ok with the wanderer bracelet. Safety first. But my mother picked him up yesterday and he smelled like old urine and poop. Like he had not been cleaned in day. So much for him walking to the bathroom on his own. Secondly, we could not get him in to the house without assistance from two neighbors as his brain and his feet did not communicate appropriately. I had to put him in his wheelchair to get him into the house. To top this all off. His blood glucose was 400mg/dl. How is it that you discharge someone from a facility that is suppose to manage an individual who is insulin dependent and he has a blood sugar of 400 when he gets home. Unacceptable. Not to mention his UTI that his is now diagnosed with at Blake Medical. Used the bathroom my A**!! Medical records as well as patient presentation will definately tell us what really happened at Greenbriar during my fathers stay. Oh and lets not forget the demands from the facility that my mother had to pick him up early "because insurance did not cover his stay" again cough cough my a**.

My mom was well taken care of while in rehab for a fall. The nurses and aides we're kind and gentle. Her PT went well and allowed her to leave earlier than expected. Our area was very clean and smelled good! My father while visiting mom had an accident in the bathroom, an aide found some clean clothes from somewhere which allowed him to stay with mom. The aides cleaned up the mess and were sympathetic and kind to my dad as well.

The living quarters and sections of Greenbriar Rehabilitation were lovely. My husband started out in a lovely section, and then after he was there for about 2-1/2 weeks, they moved him into a two-bedroom with one small window next to his bed, so he had to turn his head completely to see it. I was not happy with that second room. The nursing staff in the first section was tip-top, but the second section was a completely different story. I would not recommend for anybody to go there. The food was terrible. They had very few people to operate the place. It was very unfortunate for me because he developed a urinary tract infection, which I found out after he died. He should've been treated immediately with an antibiotic. He was not treated with an antibiotic until two days before he died. His heart doctor and my son who is a clinical pharmacist could not believe that they did not start him on an antibiotic. He was even hallucinating. I thought he had immediate dementia because one day he was fine and the next he was talking silly, and it just got worse from there. I don't have anything good to say about it except for the first section that he was in. They listed a lot of things that didn't happen. They listed music and that somebody was coming in to play the piano, but it happened only twice while he was there. The rest of the time, they played bingo once a day and had games and crafts in the evening. It was nothing like they said that it was going to be.

I had a family member in this facility and it was a great experience. Staff was friendly and the therapy was excellent.

Beware of the "Chandelier Effect". Incompetent staff and inflated billing. Dirty sheets and raggedy blankets. Crime-ridden area. Check police reports.

There were patients waiting to get through when we visited Greenbriar. There were nurses. There was not a whole lot of room. It was pretty sparse. The entranceway was fine, but the building itself and the outside, there were a few chairs and very few trees. I would not want my husband being in there.

I was in a place called Greenbriar for three months. I was in there for rehabilitation. The care was atrocious. I had my wits about me, and I could not believe it. They just had a brand new facility added on for rehab, and it is beautiful.

I was in Greenbriar for the rehabilitation part of it and I would say that it was one of the best I've ever been in. I had a private room and I may have complained a few times about the cleaning, but the minute I did, then they had crews in there doing the top to bottom. The people that lived there acted like they liked it. They had a very nice dining room. They had nice dinners and facilities for parties and stuff like that. The food seemed to me like it was kind of fatty, but it was very, very good.
