Freedom Plaza Sun City Center is close to where my brother lives. We like the amenities that they have for my mom. She will be in their independent living in a very nice-sized apartment and be comfortable. They seemed to have very nice people when we went for the visit. There's a golf course right next door where a lot of the residents play golf. There are pickleball courts, an indoor/outdoor pool, and a gym. There are a lot of activities. There are art classes, lectures, and planned trips for the residents. All of the residents that we spoke with casually walked through the hallways. Our guide stopped and introduced us to them, and everybody said how happy they were to live there. Mom has tried their food. The ladies over there have invited her to lunch and she's gone a couple of times. There are a lot of different dining options. There's more formal and then more casual. You can get a grab-and-go and take it back to your apartment, or you can go and sit in a nice dining room.

I was once a resident of Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. They also have memory care and assisted living. The staff is very accommodating and thoughtful. And the food is a little above average. They have bridge and I'm a bridge player. They also have a golf course and I played golf. They have book clubs and all kinds of clubs. And they say if you don't find what you're looking for, start one yourself. It's the only buy-in one that I ever attended. You had to buy in and then you pay a monthly fee. But if you run out of money, they keep you and you don't have to leave.

Freedom Plaza Sun City Center was really nice. It was very homey. It smelled clean. The tour guide, Sean, was very friendly, very informative, and very helpful. He took us everywhere, and he also introduced us to the staff. The staff were very friendly. What I loved about that place is that all of their services, whether it's their cable or whatever their type of things, they were all included in the price. My mother is currently paying a la carte prices for everything. At Freedom Plaza it was all included, and I loved that. The only downside, and the reason why I cannot go with them, is that they only had studio apartments, and they're only 395 square feet. While it was beautiful and very nice, it was like a hotel room, which for some people would be perfect, but not for my mother. They had the same type of facilities. And what I really appreciated about them is that if my mom was the only one that wanted to go somewhere, they would still take her. Where she is at right now, if she's the only person that possibly signed up to go out to eat, they wouldn't take her. They needed a requirement of like three people. At Freedom Plaza they would take her if she's the only one, and I really thought that was a really cool thing.

We were very impressed with Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. They have a different type of plan that takes a little bit to understand, but it has its merits versus some of the other ones. My mother was very impressed with it. The staff was very professional and helpful. The atmosphere was very nice. We saw some residents enjoying happy hour. They have a woodshop, an art studio, and an exercise facility. It was very nice.

I went and toured Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. It was right next to a full-sized golf course. It was a little more expensive than the other place, but in terms of the size of the unit, etc., they were comparable with the other facility. They are a continuing care facility. You start in independent living, and then move on to assisted living or the nursing home as needed. It was a very large building, whereas the other place is multiple smaller buildings. It was probably less walking there. The services and everything were very comparable to other places, but it was just more expensive. The staff was good.

I'm going to Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. The grounds were very nice. The apartment that they showed me that I'm taking is larger than almost all the other places that I looked at. It had an outdoor space, which is important to me. The people who I saw in the dining room looked like they could be my friends. Me and my three guests had lunch there.

I never dreamt I would be able to find some place as nice and as accommodating as Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. It's like living in a resort. I wanted a place that, once I got there, I wanted to be sure that I would be taken care of for the rest of my life, and I never thought that would be possible, but that's exactly what they offer. Pat was absolutely a lovely person. She knew all about the complex and was able to answer any questions. She was just so helpful. She showed me a one-bedroom apartment with a bathroom and a full-size kitchen. It was lovely and more than adequate. Then we looked at a studio as well, and I would be more than happy to just have a studio. It was a lovely, nice space too. I don't require a whole lot, and their studio was already plenty enough. It had a full-sized kitchen too, and the bathroom had a nice walk-in shower. It was large and you can sit down and shower yourself and whatnot. They have an alarm button that you can use to contact somebody if you aren't feeling good. If they don't detect any movement in the room until 10:00 in the morning or something, they'll send somebody to check on you. They also have housekeeping once a week. With this particular unit that I got, it had originally been two places, and they're breaking it into two spaces. It won't be until after the closing on that they'll start to work on it, and it'll be two months after that before they finish. I got to choose the kind of laminate flooring I want, the color of my kitchen cupboard, and the granite top. They're just super accommodating. They've bent over backwards to make me happy with whatever I request them to. They gave me extra time before I had to move in and start paying the monthly fee too. They've got two swimming pools (one indoor, one outdoor), a golf course, an area where people like to garden, and they even have some raised flower beds that they'll identify as your personal space. I think that's just lovely. I can keep my car if I wish to, and they have parking spaces available, but they also provide transportation everywhere. They've got little shuttle buses that go here and there and everywhere. If you have a physician that's within 35 miles of the place, they'll give you a limousine service to and from the place.

I went to Freedom Plaza to visit some friends, and it was very nice. The people I visited there had a one-bedroom place with a living room and a kitchen. It was certainly big enough for me. The facility looked neat, clean, and well kept. The landscaping outside was also nice.

My mom has moved into Freedom Plaza. It's only been three or four days, but so far, it's OK. The place is nice. I only met two or three people there, and they are helpful, so far. Her room is adequate, nice, and comparable to what she had. The facility looks well kept. I haven't had that much interface with them yet.

Food used to be much better. As time went on, it has become more & more bland, and consistently cold. It’s really a shame, because it USED to be very good. Now, borderline bland to poor.

I went to Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. It's impressive. There are quite a few things to do, and they have a golf course on the outside. They're part of the Sun City Center organization which allows them to use the facilities of Sun City Center. There are thousands of things to do there. I think that's a terrific advantage. The building where most of the apartments are is large and quite nice. There's a wood shop in there, and they have a place to workout. They have a painting class once a month, and that's good. The apartments were good. I would move there.

Freedom Plaza at Sun City Center was beautiful. We're in Florida, so it's hot, but their facilities were all indoors. Everything was in one building and you never have to go outside if you don't want to. There were several beautiful dining rooms; I'm an interior designer, so I pay attention to these things. The menu and exercise facilities were excellent and the grounds and pool were beautiful. The apartments were beautiful, spacious, and not claustrophobic, very well-planned, and had nice kitchens. It's a buy-in kind of place.

Freedom Plaza at Sun City Center was fabulous. The independent living looked like a country club. They offered everything and then you can even go to the rec centers at Sun City and join any of the activities besides what they offer. They go on trips to Tampa or to Sarasota besides the beach several times a week. They were excellent and fantastic. There is a big building in the center because all the apartments are around it like a horseshoe. They will pick you up in a large golf cart, take you over to the building, and then bring you back, so you don’t need your car and you don’t even have to walk if you do not want to. They offered everything. The doctors come to the facility, so you don’t even have to spend your time going to their office.

What we like most at Freedom Plaza is that they have all different levels of care. We have electronic things that checks when you are up each day. There’s a nurse in each building, physical therapy, and visiting nurses. They have home health. The food is very good; there are seven restaurants. It’s a large place. The staff is very good. There’s a skilled nursing and rehab center. There’s a Clarebridge for memory center.

We looked at Freedom Plaza, which we were very impressed with. They were very nice. They had very nice apartments, but then again, I had some concerns about how well I could get around in the apartment because I have a power chair, and I think it would be too big, and I couldn’t get in and out of the bathroom easily. They were modifications they would be willing to do, but that was going to be costly. Also, it had carpeting in the bedroom and the living room, which I can’t have because I have allergies. It was a nice apartment, and it was on the first floor with a little patio, but unfortunately, somebody else bought it already. Their food and their dining room were outstanding. Their food was really good. They got a very big buy-in there.

If you have to come here for rehab, the rebab therapists are wonderful. However, the care received in the room is not good. It takes 20 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour, or more before someone checks on you. There were times no came at all. Ever. That is unacceptable.

My brother-in-law has been in Freedom Plaza at Sun City Center for 20 years now. It's very comparable to others, and they have more dining options, which we really like. It has just about everything we would want.

Freedom Plaza was nice. I saw a bunch of rooms, their dining room, and the facilities. I stayed in the rehab section about a year or so ago. I remember the small dining room, which was part of the rehab center, and it was very nice, friendly, and offered a good variety of food.

The one place we were really interested in was Freedom Plaza. It was very nice. There was an apartment there that we were interested in with a room that was much bigger than what we expected. Everything was new and had the latest appliances. It was really nice. We ate there, and it was wonderful. It was more than one building. I liked that they offered transportation to take you to the doctor. They had a bus service that went all over the place. I really liked the place. They even had nursing home. They had whatever you needed.

We visited Freedom Plaza. The staff was over-friendly and over-accommodating. The rooms were about average with the others. The food was what you would expect; I didn't think it was exceptional. What I didn't like about Freedom Plaza is that when something happens to you, you lose everything. Oh, they would take care of you, but they send you down to the different buildings. There isn't much activities whatsoever.

I really like Freedom Plaza the best because it had a golf course and a nice campus and I really appreciated that. It wasn’t very impressive as a community. The campus appreared to be more like an army base than a retirement community. The people were very pleasant and very nice, it 's just the community itself that I didn’t care. We had one meal there and it was very nice and we were with our hostess.

My parents are in Freedom Plaza Sun City Center. The have different sizes of rooms. The place is quite beautiful, clean, modern, and very pleasant. They have many activities. The food is very accommodating to any particular diet. It is served beautifully. I had lunch with them, and it is very good. To be honest, I think they could use more staff. The staff seems to be on the light side. However, they are very pleasant, very hardworking, and they do what they can. They have supervisors and nurses on duty 24 hours a day. You can call them anytime, and they are very accommodating.

Freedom Plaza have basically the same kinds of programs as normal. Its physical location is that nice. But to be fair, I don't know if it's old or not. It wasn't very physically attractive. As we were talking to the people who work there, we were told that about 20 to 25 percent of their population are retired military. I certainly have no problem with that. I respect and honor them, but I wouldn't fit in. That became a factor. They were very honest with us. It didn't fit what we wanted, but in terms of the place itself, it's very nice. I didn't see anything that was not pleasing.

The rooms are very nice at Freedom Plaza. We like that when we go in, there is a center atrium where they have little conversation areas with comfy couches and a piano. It looks like a great place for people to come together. The staff is very fine and nice. They are young and great people. I like the friendliness of everybody. I think they need to improve on their landscaping and trees. Another thing in the community, I think they need more nice restaurants. The food there was very good. We will be moving there in June.

We love it here! We moved here in Freedom Plaza 5 years ago. It's the best thing we've ever did. We looked at 6 different places in Tampa Bay area. This was the only one that's a CCRC that would take care of us even when we ran out of money. We buy in and we get to stay here. We chose this place too also because of the medical help that we have here. We have OT and PT in the building. We have so many amenities to help keep us live independently. Because we already live here, if we have to go to rehab or assisted living, it would be much cheaper for us. If we came in off the street and live in the nursing home here, it would be $9000 a month. We have a friend and his wife has Parkinsons, she's been in assisted living for 4 years and it only cost them $1800 a month because he already lived here. What I like is the therapy is just right here in the building. We don't have to get in the car and go somewhere. It's just all right here. We have an indoor pool, fit and bounce training and yoga. There's just so much to keep us healthy here. We 6 different beautiful dining rooms. We don't have to go in one big dining room and feel like we're in an institution. It's like fine dining out every night with linen table cloth and napkins. It's just very nice.

We're moving into Freedom Plaza. I like this community. They have good food and the chef was very good. They have five different dining rooms so there's more than enough room for everybody. They have everything right there. I can walk out my door and play golf, I can go swim in their swimming pool, I can play tennis, etc. The staff was fantastic! They're very friendly and warm. They did a great job.

Freedom Plaza is wonderful. I like it very much. We did see the different levels of care they have there and it felt like we would be comfortable aging in that facility because the higher levels of care are equally as attractive as their independent living. Their apartments have a sort of condo-feel to them. They have several different but lovely floor plans and they all included a garage. The management is accommodating with structuring and decorating the rooms with upgrades that their present residents want. We did have lunch there and the food was very good. This is probably our favorite one that we have looked at in the area.

When I visited Freedom Plaza, it seemed to me that they were changing hands. I believe they were initially owned and ran by former military, but now they have sold their facility and when I was there, they were already changing things around and getting ready for paint and all that kind of stuff. But it was fantastic as well, I would love to be there.

Freedom Plaza was nice and I was really impressed. The location is great and the room sizes are about thirty percent bigger, but actually cheaper than the other facility up here and both facilities are run by the same people. I liked the size of the rooms, the closeness to everything, and they literally take you to any place you want to go. That was fantastic. You really feel important down there.

Positive were a few of the CNA'S that provided care. And the facilit was kept clean and always maintained a cosistent food schedule. The negatives were the lack of care on some of the residents...one espcially being my grandmother.
