My friend is now in Brandywine. It is a good and clean place. It is not very big place, so you can get good, focused care. They'll make sure that my friend gets his medicines and meals. I think it works better for him. They have all different kinds of functions, like therapy and rehab. If there is anything he may need, it is at his fingertips, so it is a good thing. The place is clean. The people are friendly. There are lots of staff there. My friend has a room with a nice view. All of the rooms are nice. The patient can make their room their own by bringing pictures from home to make it look like their room. The grounds are good. There is a nice parking lot. It has a nature setting. I think it is positive for the residents. My friend participates in physical therapy.

My mother was a patient at Coral Springs rehab for 5 weeks, following a significant fall. She went for 3 weeks with no bath, because, somehow, she had not gotten on the schedule for bathing. Her greatest desire was to be able to actually sit on the toilet when she needed to. This was denied her almost daily. She was told to just go in her diaper, that it was shift change - wait an hour please, and that it was too difficult to get her up and into the wheelchair. A member of my family visited her twice daily, which is the only reason that she was ever bathed. If you are not able to visit daily to advocate for your loved one, do not put them here. The food was never what was listed on the menu that was provided right along with the food (amusing and sad all in the same breath). In the 5 week stay, not one single moment did my mother have the lights out in her room or the tv off in her roommate's space. This is not conducive to recovery. She was given the daily list of activities, but only asked to go once. (Why would she? It took an hour to get help to get to the toilet) Many of the staff were perfectly lovely. Many of the staff came across as very lazy and/or uninterested. The communication to my family when my mother was being taken for therapy or doctor's visits, or being discharged (!!!!!) was nonexistent.

The nursing staff is very caring. The fourth Administrator in three years Brenda, is heartless. My Mother lived tat Coral Springs for 2 1/2 years, she had an incident, and was sent to Christiana Hospital. She was there three weeks and was going to be released. Brenda called me, she wanted me to send my mother to another hospital in Philadelphia for treatment, if I did she would guarantee me my mother could return. I called spoke to my mother's doctors and the social worker, they all felt that is excessive and not necessary, they also told Brenda the same thing. Brenda refused to have my Mother return to Coral Springs. My Mother had to stay an addition month, while we found an open bed at another Nursing Home.

The facility has a very strong odor. Red Flag. The older rooms on section F are horrendous, depressing. Please visit before you commit. Patients that seemed affected with dementia sat in hallways in extremely dirty clothes. Blinds are broken, furniture chipped. Nebulizer was very old, outdated, loud enough to disturb roommate. They were “looking” for a better one. Understaffed. The unappetizing food was served in scratched and stained insulation containers. No cups for coffee, so, no coffee. PLEASE READ STATE REPORTS, visit unannounced. Our elders deserve so much more. Heartbreaking facility for patients with dementia. My mom was aware, and left, knowing the ramifications.

I toured Coral Springs Rehab and Health Center. I like the location. It looked like a clean, well-managed facility. It was very close to where we live, so it's convenient. The person who showed me around was very professional and informative. I didn't make an appointment, I was walk-in, and she was very accommodating.

We chose Coral Springs for my sister. It's close to her husband's home. The nurses are very friendly and professional. It seems a little understaffed, but the new management is addressing some of the deficiencies. It's one floor, inside courtyards where they can go and be safe without being outside the building. My neighbor is also there, and they give you more than enough food, and it's better than it was before. Every day there's a list of things going on, the nurses come and get the patients and take them. The atmosphere is depressing. It's clean. They have somebody that comes in one day a week, and you can make an appointment and get your hair done. It's adequate at best. They need to hire more staff and modernize it.

I would tell anyone who considers this place to please research this well. They almost killed my dad! They tried to cover up a fall and a broken hip! We forced them to get an ambulance immediately. Hospital reported this abuse also. They also denied person who took care of bandage on leg, no employee with those initials! State found them guilty. Whether any fines were imposed I don't know but I know they did find them guilty. Only reason this didn't end up in court is because of the cost to hire med professional to go to court was too expensive. I was not in for the money but rather to expose them. Pls be careful...show up without them expecting you and watch what you see, PM is very interesting!!

About 2 years about my great aunt had a terrible fall and went to stay at Brandywine. Since she was like a grandmother to me growing up I was very concerned about her getting the best care. the second I walked in I knew I had nothing to worry about. Not only was the facility extremely clean and well taken care of, but the staff was incredibly friendly. The place itself was very cheery and had a nice vibe. All of the patients living there looked very happy and were so nice. The workers knew all of the patients names and really seemed to love taking care of and working with the patients. Never once did I ever feel like my aunt wasn't getting the attention she needed. Every time I went to visit her she was happy and very well taken care of. Also, I really liked that they let me bring her dog by to visit her. They also let her decorate her room and make it a lot more homey. Being surrounded by pictured of friends and family really made her feel much more comfortable. I really can't thank them enough for all of the care they gave to my great aunt.
