My mother was at The Willows for eight months for long-term care, and she received very good care there. This was before COVID and so I used to go there every day and was able to observe them. They were very kind, caring, and worked very hard for their residents. Most of them had to be taken back and forth to the bathroom, and they were just a spot on every day. My mother had one particular aide and she was just wonderful. She took care of her every day and was very good at it. I would give them a good grade. She liked the food as well and as she progressed, she wound up getting mostly ground and soft foods, and she was able to enjoy it. They met my needs and they were very good at responding to anything I asked for. We were very comfortable having her there. The facility was very clean. Their OT and physical therapy were excellent all day long, seven days a week. They always provided some sort of activity. When my mother was able to, she did them, but because of her health, that kind of slowed down for her. It's a lot of money for a nursing home, but their prices were no different than any others in the area.

Rooms: no air conditioning in rooms so they get hot when door is closed. Facility really showing it's age. My mother fractured her hip and after surgery, was placed in this abomination. Found out terrible things after my mother was there. Left in her room for long periods of time. No one to encouraged exercise and recovery. Physical therapy was adequate but limited. Followups and further exercise would have sped up her recovery. While an aide took her to the bathroom, she fell. No one notified me. The fall was serious enough to notify the family. She fainted from the pain of the fall...she remembers falling and pain and then blacking out and when she came to, she had urinated and moved her bowels all over herself. Multiple times my mother was told that the staff would not answer if she called. She was expected to pee in the bed. Her calls for help to the bathroom would go unheeded. Her bandages were left hanging off for a day. I visited and witnessed room call lights blinking and an employee sitting under the air conditioner on the phone for about a half hour. While visiting, I would notice that their was feces left in her toilet, no one would flush or guide her to flush. It was clear that she was made to feel like a nuisance and not a real person with short term health needs. Truly a sad situation. Animal shelters show more compassion and interest in their clients than this place. One star is too generous.

Willows Care and Rehabilitation Center was a really good place. The people there were very nice. The place was clean and very bright. The rooms were nice and bright, too. They have a 20-minute turnaround time for the aide to come when the resident pushes the call button, which I think is amazing. They have a different menu every day for the meals. The staff who gave me the tour was great.
