My friend Jim was at Cook Willow Health and Rehab. It's a good nursing home. They have outings and they have musical people that come to the place and all, and they have a little garden in the back and everything. I like it that it's one of the more privately owned ones and it only has 60 beds. The staff is really nice and caring. I used to go to his healthcare plan meetings, and they work with you and everything. Because he was familiar with the place, I'm trying to get him back there. It's a small nursing home, so it has a homey atmosphere. The staff are very kind and very caring. When I would visit him, they were very kind and open to me. I like that I was able to spend time with him, and I was able to take him out and everything. They really try to make it like a home for you and what the patient likes and dislikes. It's very open for family members. Their staff was very good. They know what they're doing. If he needed something, the aides were there for the most part. When he was there, he was able to walk around with his walker and he was more self-sufficient than the other people. The staff was very friendly and kind. They also have the physical therapy room downstairs. He liked the food. The food was good. They gave him like options and everything and it would be hot. They had a nice dining room on the first floor, and then later they would come around if you wanted drinks or snacks. The facility itself was decent. The ladies would come in and mop and clean the rooms and make my friend's bed. The bathrooms were clean. They have activities. However, it was hard for my friend because it is a nursing home, so there's a lot of people that were in wheelchairs (and he wasn't). They had more things to offer and some things he just didn't want to partake in. He was happy watching movies in his room. They had a lot of people come and perform at the place. I think they had outings, too. I remember being there and they had people come in perform musical acts in the dining room. They had things for the holidays and things for Christmas time, and so that was nice. They would do things for the seasons, which was nice.
