Out of all long term facilitates (and we toured many) we decided to put our mother in Wheatridge Manor. Great decision! The food is maybe not so good, but the staff is wonderful. She is happy thriving, and accepting of this part of life. Many, many thanks to nurse Sammi, very professional great heart. Thanks also to activities Sandy always smiling, super fun and knowledgeable. We are very happy and thankful.

I've been to Wheatridge Manor Care Center. The one thing that they offered me that turned me off was that they offered to possibly put my brother in a room with two other men. And I said, no, that's not going to work. The staff seemed to be doing what they were supposed to be doing; nobody standing around chatting, or anything. A lot of these places are short-staffed, so they have to do what they do when they have to do it. It seemed to be very, very chaotic there as far as the residents. I was not impressed.

The whole facility was a disgrace it was dirty no one ever cleaned my room the whole way the group corners there was trash and food on the floors. The stocks of snacks and the cabinets kept getting lower and lower everyday I don't know when they was supposed to stop but they didn't while I was there

Please do not put your loved ones here. As mentioned in other reviews, all is good to your face but behind the scenes it is very bad. - For a medicaid patient, expect three to a tiny room. - Staff is inconsiderate of patient needs, and will tell a patient to pee in a diaper instead of assisting them to the bathroom. - Buzzers will ring up and down the halls for over an hour without a response. - Staff hangs out behind the nursing station and gossips among themselves while buzzers sound and family members wait to get questions answered. - Clothing routinely gets lost and they refuse to replace it, even weeks after the patient has left the facility. It seems that staff is not used to having family members around to witness poor care. The only upside to this is I can tell you about it. Everything in this review was witnessed firsthand, multiple times.
Thanks to all!

Our experience at Wheatridge Manor was excellent. They really took care of my mom and they're really nice. The place was very clean and organized, and the staff was wonderful. She was in the area of the building for short-term care, but they also had long-term care available. The meals were very good, they purified everything for her. They played Bingo and all kinds of things, it was really nice.

It is an older facility. There is almost nowhere to go visit with the resident BUT the staff is amazing. They are caring and there seems to be enough staff to be there for residents and guests. Bottom line is a caring staff is what all of us want for our lived ones

Amazing place! My mother has been here numerous times for care and has always been treated with respect and dignity. This is a 5 star facility for a reason. The US News Health - US News & World Report is rating at 4.6 stars. Great staff, good food, amazing rehab! I will not send my mom anywhere else.

Avoid like the plague. Beautiful grounds on the outside but the care (or lack of) inside does not match the outside beauty. Praying there are places with better care. Family stayed there & received minimal care...family member had to ask for patient's breathing treatment (3 hours late) while battling pnuemonia & had to ask nurse aide again another time, had PT aide forget to put on wheel chair foot pedals & patient was crying out "owww, owww' as her foot was getting stuck under chair after broken leg & hip surgery...no empathy or apologies or comfort offered to patient, when patient needed to use bathroom, the time counted as help & patient did not receive physical therapy on those days. Patient went a whole week without any home care (including a shower, even though insurance covers 6 times a week) even though it was Wheat Ridge Manor's responsibility to set it all up , as we were told in a family meeting. Do not send your loved one here. Research other places, as we will have to also. What a disgrace...elder neglect.

My father was in the hospital, and then they put him in Wheatridge Manor Care Center. The staff was pretty good. If you want to get in, you can get in pretty easy, but if you want stuff done inside there for your parents, it's not so good at all. I was actually really mad, and we want to get out of there so bad. It wouldn't be so bad if it would be one or two or three times, but it's ongoing; they can't get the correct medications although it is prescribed by a doctor, and he has fallen down three times. There are three people in one room; it's real crowded and smelly. I don't like it. It's an older building. There isn't anything about the place that I like, from the rooms to the service. The food is not great. They like to collect the money. They play bingo and watch TV, but mostly everybody just sits around and looks at the wall. Their technology is behind. They have a horn that goes off underneath the bed to let you know that they're moving, and then it wakes up the other people who are sleeping in the same room. If you need help, they yell for help. They do have a little switch to pull for a light or rings a bell, but they don't respond to it. It's a crappy place, and I don't recommend anybody to go there.

These people acted nice to our faces but we ended up pulling my grandma out if there because she was constantly getting diaper rash really bad because they were not thoroughly washing her, they were giving her cold showers and when she said please make the water warmer they made it even colder and then they kept switching the staff up on her during her showers so she wouldn't know who the culpirts were (she has mils dementia so they thought she'd be too forgetful to tell anyone). And she came home with a pair of some random men's socks on her feet and the stockings she wore to keep swelling down in her legs were gone. We were not happy with this place. Please make sure your loved one is taken care of. Ask them if they are being treated right. Our loved one was not.

The staff people at Wheat Ridge Manor are wonderful. Although the facility itself is older, they have taken good care of it over the years. When I visited (without an appointment) prior to placing my aunt, I was impressed by the home-like atmosphere and how clean everything was - including no odors. They make every effort to ensure the people are well cared for and comfortable. The grounds are lovely and people can be outside or in the solarium year round. It was challenging to find a place for my aunt because her mind continues to be sharp, but her little body is wearing out. She was not happy about giving up her independence and having to live in a care facility. The staff at Wheat Ridge Manor have been wonderful with her and treat her with respect and kindness. They have activities, religious services, outings, movies, treats, therapies, and crafts. After visiting numerous facilities in the area, we are very pleased with Wheat Ridge Manor.
