My mother is in Tammy & Marty's Cozy Adult Care Home. She's only been there a couple of weeks, but so far it's been good. The staff is good. They have puzzles, coloring books, and decorating pumpkins. Right now, she's the only one in the room but when they have someone else come in, she'll have a roommate. She's comfortable. We're trying to get her medication adjusted. She's a little bit sleepier than usual, and we're working on that. I like that they have a doctor that comes in every week. They have a deck in the back part of the house and the fence is all rocks, but they have a nice porch. The deck is awesome, it has a great view, and they always stay out there with them if anybody's out there unless the visitors stay with them. I picked this over everybody else that I've seen. It's not that the others weren't nice, but because of the affordability and the home environment. It's not like a nursing home, so it's much more personal, and she doesn't realize that she's not at home because it is like a home. It's not like a hospital setting. The food is OK, and she is eating well. The other day, they had roast, vegetables, and a crackpot, and they accommodate if you have a special diet.

Facility is great and they take care of the clients on a more personal basis and give them more one on one time.

They put on a good face but like the saying goes, the devil is in the details. First off you must deal with Marty, who claims to have a degree of some kind, but judging from his lack of proper grammar and misspelled words in a paper he issued my mother in law, he could not have much education past grade school. There is no Tammy and one has to wonder why? Now for the facility. The foods are processed and bland; not a problem because I brought my mother in law food to eat, however the staff were too lazy to prepare it for her, which in some cases involved opening a lid and giving her a fork. She has dementia and does not remember that we have left her something so she does not know to ask. The staff appears uneducated about medications, therapies and the like which is not a problem as I am a medical professional and can keep an eye on what meds she is currently on, but they are rude to boot. I have never once been greeted or even acknowledged unless I sought out the staff. As for activities, there are none. Steer clear of this facility at all cost.

Very homelike atmosphere. Staff are well-trained, friendly and compassionate. Extremely clean. Staff goes out of their way to accommodate special requests and on-site celebrations. Would recommend to anyone looking for an alternative to a nursing home. My only concern is while the meals are all prepared in their kitchens, there is too much reliance on processed and frozen foods and not enough scratch cooking or fresh fruit and veggies; and there are extremely limited activities for residents.
