My mother used to live in Bross Street Assisted living, and it was a relatively small facility. I believe they could accommodate up to eleven or twelve residents. It was a converted home, but my description for it would be an assisted living-like place, so if someone really needs much more than minor assistance, like assistance with showering, toileting, or getting in and out of bed, it's not the place for them. Their facilities were very nice. They had an outdoor, covered patio, a covered front porch for sitting, and they were located very close to a small public park, which was very nice. On holidays, like St. Patrick's Day or Valentine's Day, they had some special meals and fun things to do. I've been there when the residents have been eating, and I think the food was fairly good and nutritious. Some of the staff were very caring and would want to provide more assistance than what the management wanted them to provide. As for the staff I met and personally got to know, half of them I'd rate as a "five," and the other half would be a "one."
