Brookdale fit our needs very well. We really liked the small community feel because it's not a big impersonal institution. The entire staff knows each resident by first name, and treats us like family. The one bedroom apt. was nice and staff comes in and cleans and does laundry on a regular basis. We were able to decorate as we wanted when Mom moved in. Staff is available and responds quickly whenever needed. Residents are expected to have meals in the dining room, and they're served like a restaurant. I joined Mom several times for dinner and I liked the food, and portions were sized right for her (but not for me... I eat a lot). Snacks and drinks are brought to rooms throughout the day which is a nice touch. Mom had lived at other places before, and when it became time to find an assisted living facility, we focused on finding a place where she would feel at home. We found it here because of the staff.... they just seemed to care more than other places we've been. And for that, thank you.

We went to Brookdale Longmont. The grounds were lovely. The rooms were smaller. They were not nearly as spacious as the other place and that was a little off-putting when you're used to having a home of your own and more spacious surroundings. The grounds are lovelier than the inside. The staff during the tour was ideal. She was terrific. I didn't have the food. The dining area looked four-ish to me. The activities I thought were minimal, and they offered maybe two or three a day, sometimes two.

Brookdale Longmont Senior Living has very helpful people. It is somewhere that we would definitely consider if we could make this work. It's a very clean facility and very different from your normal facility. It was more like individual apartments, but you still get the care you need. I'm very impressed with this facility. They've been very good about keeping back in touch with me and giving me some other options or just walking me through what this means. We met with the director and the staff, both were very informative about the place. They did a great job and spent a lot of time with us.

Brookdale Longmont was very nice. The rooms were very small, but very nice, and very clean. The people were extremely caring and compassionate. The dining area looked very nice and very clean as well. I saw some people playing cards. The manager was extremely good in describing and answering questions, was very welcoming, and had a great disposition when talking and covering everything.

Brookdale Longmont is pretty good. They have good food and all kinds of activities for the residents. They have games, bingo, people come in to talk about different subjects, and ice cream socials and barbecues. The staff has been very helpful; every time they ask them to do something, they get right on it. They also take care of my aunt's medication. They have been very welcoming whenever my husband and I come in to participate in things also. I also think it's nice that they are dog-friendly since my aunt has a dog.

Brookdale Longmont is not as clean as I hoped and smells like urine. It is very small and overpacked. However, some of the guests seem happy enough. It is built like a doughnut where there is a small courtyard in the middle, which would have been nice because my puppy could run there. The rooms are small. It is not a problem if you get a one-bedroom, but in the single room, it is very small, and I wonder where a bed would go.

Brookdale Longmont is small and more community-like, like a little family, and they're very friendly. The rooms are individual with a studios to one-bedroom to two-bedrooms available with their own private bath. They're like little apartments. My father-in-law likes the food. We went there on the second day, and they invited us to have lunch with them, and the food was really good. Their dining area is like a restaurant with square tables with four chairs, tablecloths, China glasses, and silverware; it's very nice. They do puzzles, go on trips, like country rides, and they bring people from the outside community in. They even have a fire department there that had breakfast with them one morning. They do everything. I like the home-like environment.

I liked the people at Brookdale immensely. I liked the nurse -- she was wonderful -- and everybody I met was great. I had actually kind of decided this is where I wanted her to go, but my husband thought that it might be small in terms of the population. It was a little more institutional in its feel, rather than homey. It was a separate fee for each kind of care they provided. They had a lot of activities and stuff; it just was a lot smaller. They only have 30 rooms and between 25 and 30 residents. We thought that it was just small, and what if mom doesn't find somebody she likes?

I visited Sterling House about 2 years ago. My mom and I both went. It just didn’t seem appropriate at that time. I found the room quite noisy because it has wooden chairs and no carpeting on the floor; that’s very irritating to my mother.

The staff was friendly. They offered a variety of care options which would suit my mom. They had different areas for each condition, for example the hospice wing was separate from the assisted living wing. It was very difficult to be a part of the decision making when it comes to placing a family member in an assisted living facility. The staff seemed to be aware of this feeling and were trying their best to put us at ease. I was happy overall with the facility, however I wanted to still look around to see what was available elsewhere. This facility is quite expensive, but we knew this was going to be a costly choice no matter what.
