They are more than half the time understaffed. I'd call to check on my mother and the staff working on her wing didn't even know who she was.

Rehabilitation is not a work I would use for this institution. Another way to take money from the elderly with not enough staff or trained staff.

Bethany Rehab Center is very nice and very clean. It has a very relaxing atmosphere with their furnishing and decor. It looks warm, welcoming and comfortable. It feels less like a facility and more like home. The staff is very friendly. They seem very knowledgeable and very welcoming. They also have activities for their patients. If Bethany Rehab Center had an opening at that time, that's probably where I would have placed my dad.

Bethany was secure and had actual nurses on the premises, so that was good. However, I don't think my dad got more attention or more priority care at all. If they had a smaller patient to nurse ratio, the folks there would get better care. I really do believe that. When we first brought my dad in there, the nurse had 15 rooms to herself that she had to take care of. Not even a mother can do that with kids. The conditions were unreal to me. My dad had a couple of falls and that was the biggest concern we had. The facility had cement floors and he took a really bad fall which is what really killed him, not his disease. He was unable to recover from the fall. We sat down and talked with the head nurses about that. They just said they do what they can. They didn't restrain patient, which is a good thing, but they didn't have a good preventative plan from keeping people from hurting themselves when they do fall. Yes, the staff was very nice staff and they did what they could. But to me, they should be working on a long-term preventative type of plan. The last time we went in to collect my dad's clothes the day of his funeral, there was another gal that had a big shiner. One of the nurses said that person just took a fall too. It's just crazy.
