We moved my step-father to Holly Heights for hospice after being in two other facilities. Never before in the other two facilities was he treated or cared for so well as Holly Heights. While the other places might have looked fancy, the lack of attention to the residents was horrific. At Holly Heights, all of the staff from the nurses to the CNAs to the activities to the food servers to people who helped clean to administration were so kind and caring to both my stepdad and all of us. He even enjoyed the food much better than the other two places which were supposed to be high end facilities. When he died last week, people like Pam M. was here with us and waited with us for hours after her shift was done until his body was picked up. Other staff like Zenita and Kelsey came in on their day off to check on us after they heard of his passing. Carla was with us every step of the way during his last days to comfort us and explain what was going on. They were kind and comforting until his last day, and beyond. We are still getting calls this week just to check on us and see how we are doing. This is honestly the best place when you want constant caring and compassion for your loved one. I highly recommend Holly Heights and all of it’s staff.

My friend has been placed at Holly Heights Nursing Home Inc and it's been positive. I've been very impressed. They're very caring and accommodating. I can't imagine him getting better care anywhere else. It is a bit older facility, but they have done a great job of keeping it modernized. The rooms are a little smaller, but still very adequate. They have bingo with a deck of cards. Covid has pretty much locked a lot of the activities down. I sat with him for about an hour to play that game, that I found out later I wasn't supposed to. It appears as though their price for skilled nursing is right in line with other places that I checked. You're gonna pay about the same amount no matter where you go.

I visited this facility and also spoke with some of the nurses who told me about the black mold problems in the facility. She showed me a wall near the back offices and only about 15 feet from a room where a lady is on oxygen. The wall had severe black mold. She said they maintenance guy said it would cost to much to have it removed. Residence are paying a minimum $5,000 a month!! This place needs to be shut down by the city!

As I sit in ICU with my father on Veterans Day, I want to say that Holly Heights cares more about money than about elderly veterans. We had 12 days to place my father in a nursing facility and we applied to Holly Heights. I told them of the time constraint and asked them to tell me if there was any reason I should be looking further. They said things looked great and there shouldn't be a problem. 8 days later they called to say they wouldn't take him. This was on Friday afternoon and he had to be moved somewhere by Tuesday morning. Their reason? His meds would cost them too much compared to the VA contract. I offered to pay the difference or to bring his meds in, but they wouldn't budge. We were left high and dry with only one business day left. My father was crippled in his military service and is treated like this! He was very depressed by this rejection. Now we are in ICU and he isn't expected to live. I hope that Holly Heights ' greed and lack of consideration catch up with them. Update: my father passed away during this hospitalization.

My mother was at Holly Heights for more than 8 years, & I just wanted to say what EXCELLENT care she received while there. I know it wasn't easy with her mental & physical disabilities, but the job that was done was above & beyond.I want to say I always felt secure in knowing my Mom was being cared for, thank you Holly Heights for being a top notch place in my book!!!

I chose this nursing home for my mom cause it was close to me, clean, and a 5 star rating. She lived here for 6 months and I couldn't take anymore of her being soaked down to her wheelchair and constant constipation from the food! The food was so bad she had to have stool softners every week! Then she would be so constipated that she would have bloody stools on a regular basis. The nurses would say it's from sitting too much. Well, since she's been home with me for 3 months, she hasn't had any constipation or bloody stools!! Not at all!!! And some of those girls are so young that worked there, you could tell they didn't care about those people. There were waiting to party for the weekend. They would have fans blowing on the elderly while giving them showers! My mom would scream from being cold!! So happy I'm able to care for her at my home now.

I chose Holly Heights because it had a 5-star rating at the time and that meant a lot to me. I felt that the admissions person really bent herself backward to help me out and got me admitted there because I was Medicaid pending. There were a lot of open hearts in that facility and I felt that, that was one of the reasons that I recovered as well as I have so far. I was there because I needed to recover from my surgery and I was undergoing cancer treatment. I have different dietary restrictions and I cannot take processed food. They gave me access to the kitchen so I can prepare my own meals and that was a huge benefit. I also require a clean environment and I could not tolerate the current cleaning supplies they're using which is toxic and dangerous. I found a line of nontoxic, unscented cleaning supplies for them that does the job better than anything they've ever used anyway and was safer for the cleaning crew and the residents. That's what they're currently using now. The director, Janet did a good job of trying to make changes that were better for everybody. I think she did a lot to make things happen for everybody there. They went green basically.

The lobby is a simple, yet tasteful thing. I met several staff members through our tour of the facility and grounds. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I was surprised to see the residents privately telling me that their community was great. The garden out back was a really nice atmosphere. We're excited to have grandma nearby, without the worry of us having to be on call to take care of her. That has been very time consuming and stressful. I understand there are visiting hours so that I can go see her after class or before work on the weekends. We all look forward to her new living experience. I got to see the living quarters that she will be occupying for the rest of her life. The room is nice and has a peaceful view. The area is quiet and serene. There is a bike trail right behind the center so on nice days she can go for a walk. With her living close to us, we can all still visit often and look forward to it.
