Having worked at a memory care facility in the past I would say this is one of the best places I have seen. My pawpaw is WELL cared for, always clean and happy. The staff is amazing and so kind and helpful. He shares a room and seems to really enjoy being here. This place is night and day compared to his last facility.

Namaste Alzheimer Center has everything. The care that my mom is getting is above and beyond what we expected. They provide good meals. The help of the staff is excellent from the caregiver all the way up. They keep me informed of what’s going on. You can’t tell you’re in the city because they have a little pond, and it is surrounded by evergreen trees. I just can’t say enough good things about it. When we were still looking for a facility for my mom, everybody we talked to was saying Namaste is the place. My mom is in a semi-private, spacious room. The facility is really clean. They have an activities director who keeps the residents busy all day long. They work on them one-on-one, and if they need any help or any encouragement, they do that. The food is excellent, too.

I like the way how Namaste was setup. They seem really great, and I am currently on a waiting list. It must have been a great place because it is on waiting list all the time. I like how they setup the rooms and how they make things for the patients who want to mingle outside the rooms. I think they know a lot about dealing with dementia patients.

I like that Namaste Alzheimer Center really specializes in people with Alzheimer's and Dementia problems, so they are specially trained for four levels of care. Depending on the level of payment of the residents, they can switch within the facility the level of care for the Dementia problem so they don't get kicked around in the community from one facility to another when their dementia is worsening. That is something I really like. The prerequisite to get into this facility is the resident wanders. So if they display the pattern of wandering, that is one of the qualifiers. When I toured the facility, they had a lot of activities there. They go for walks with the residents. It looks very clean. I observed the interaction of the nursing staff with the residents, and it was a very friendly interaction. They are encouraged to voice what they like and what they don't like. I had the opportunity to speak with one of the residents on the lowest level of care. They looked well-kept, and I didn't found any strange odors. Their admission procedure is a bit difficult. They don't evaluate the potential resident until they are ready to take them off the wait list. You have to sign the admission paper work upfront. They have all your information, but you don't even know if your family member is accepted in the facility by their medical assessment. That is the only thing that I could say that is not that great.

Namaste' is a light in the darkness of this terrible dissease. The care providers know and practice the special needs appropriate for each resident. It is not just a job to any of them. The facility is a pleasure to enter and always attractive and ready for families. My mother passed away just 2 weeks ago and could never have made it through the long path without their constant car and support. This is a wonderful place.

Upon walking into the facility, I was impressed at how quickly someone was there to greet me and take me on a quick tour of the facility to see if it would be a place I would be interested in working. While looking around I noticed that there were only a few CNA's running around helping the residents, but the care that I saw being provided to the resident's was exceptional. The staff was prompt to address any needs that the resident's had and were helpful with any questions that I had. They seemed to have plenty of activities going, had a huge board letting people know when and where they were located in the facility, and were all around helpful and willing to cater to every need that the resident's had. The only thing that I was relatively disappointed with was the restricted access that seeemed to be going on within the facility itself - resident's weren't allowed to move between units as I've seen a few other places allow, and although there were a few birds and fish, I felt that they were somewhat disconnecting the resident's from any "animal" care that I have witnessed at other facilities. Other than that, I really enjoyed my visit to the facility, and if I ever needed to suggest or place someone there myself, I would definitely recommend Namaste.
