Santa Fe Assisted Living was extremely nice. Everybody was very friendly. The apartment was nice, very clean, and homey. The dining area was nice as well, clean and tidy, welcoming, and homey. People were eating lunch when I was there. They have a craft room, a beauty salon, a TV room, and a piano.

My father is in Braswell's Santa Fe Assisted Living. His room is clean, but the place smells like urine each time I have gone in there. They need more workers. I've only seen one nurse running around to take care of 25 residents in the memory care part if not more. He's losing weight like crazy. The food doesn't look very appetizing. It's usually gravy on rice with a little chipped beef and each time I've been there it's all that they've had. It's just very simple. They have a TV in a room that they can all go to and it's messy. I'm not impressed with the place. It's very rundown. I usually can't find the staff. I have to go searching if I need something. There's only about two of them working in the memory care wing. They're always super busy. They need more staff members, but they are friendly.

Santa Fe was not appealing and cold. There was no warmth in the facility and nothing really friendly about it. The ambiance was pretty dull. The rooms were a good size with a nice bathroom, but every door on the corridor was closed. I don't know if they were empty or if there were residents in there because there was no noise or no sounds. They had a craft room.

I dropped by unexpected to visit this facility. I must say the staff were very accommodating and friendly. I was shown several rooms but found the hallways a bit dark with no hand rails or sanitary dispensers for the residents or visitors to use. There is not much to see out the windows but this is in a dessert community and close to the main highway. There was not much activity going on at the time but I did talk to a few of the residents and they seemed happy. It seemed like the facility was quite old and needs some freshening up.
