The line and janitorial staff work really hard at keeping WGlen clean and nice, which it is. The line staff work at developing and maintaining positive relationships with the residents. The activity therapy staff are really upbeat and friendly and along with the line staff/counselors, lead classes, groups and community outings. They take residents to stores, the library and various locations including accompanying residents to medical/dental appointments. The meals are enjoyed by the residents because of the variety of the menu and good quality. Snacks including food are provided mid-afternoon and about 730pm. The buildings and grounds are very well maintained and ae newer. I have visited a family member regularly for years at Willow Glen

Willow Glen was excellent, the staff was great, and the coordinator that was coordinating Robert was fantastic. She kept on him, he had his routines everyday, and he has classes that he had to go to and so forth, and then she kept us informed. The dining was off the kitchen, and their living room was really huge.

My sister has been at Willow Glen for about a year and I have now visited three times. I was extremely impressed with the staff; although, I do believe they are understaffed. But, those there are so caring, accommodating and willing to help with whatever is needed. My sister's room was very clean and tidy as was the bathroom she shares with a roommate. I brought lunch all three times, but the last time she opted to eat in the lunchroom as she said she likes their food better! Although, it is gated and locked around the grounds, the doors were wide open on both sunny days and the patients could go outside at will. I did not see any blackout windows. You can call there at any time and someone will return your call regarding your loved one.

Facility is newer, and more modern than many. Individual resident rooms are more spacious and have a private bathroom, to be shared by two people. But this is deceptive. This is a locked facility, for those with dementia/ cognitive disabilities. The residents are locked inside, without adequate supervision or assistance, and without enough trained/licensed personnel to provide oversight for their care. There are not enough caregivers for so many residents with such significant cognitive deficits. The result is chaos and unacceptable neglect and abuse of the residents there. Since the doors are locked and the windows blacked out from the outside, the public is none the wiser. The medical complications and high death rate are telling evidence, but too often families and friends of the residents are not allowed to see what occurs there, since it is so isolated and hidden from scrutiny. I witnessed, first hand, the poor hygiene and personal care for those with obvious dementia, and those same patients sleeping in filthy soiled sheets that are only changed infrequently, despite patients being incontinent. I believe that this represents inhumane care for any human beings.
