What you can do with Caring
About Emerald Oaks Senior Community in Yuba City, California
Welcome to Emerald Oaks Senior Community!
Emerald Oaks is a newly remodeled assisted living community nestled by orchards in a peaceful, rural setting of Yuba City. Only a few blocks West of HWY 99, it is located on Ohleyer Road, which runs North and South between Franklin Road and Lincoln Road. Forrest Lane is our driveway.
We are committed to helping our elderly age gracefully in place by providing the highest quality of service and three types of care: Independent, Assisted and Memory Care.
Our goal is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing an environment that stimulates them physically, mentally, and emotionally. We provide a safe, supportive environment allowing our residents to enjoy a lifestyle promoting dignity and independence. For those residents with cognitive impairment, it is vital for us to learn their limitations, capabilities and whether they are an elopement risk. Although we have residents with cognitive impairment, we are not a secured community and therefore, cannot provide the safety measures most likely needed for those specific residents.
Our Resident Service Director trains our care staff to help with a variety of assistance from simple reminders to helping our residents with their dressing, bathing, toileting, escorting to meals and/or activities. She is also a direct contact during the transitional period as well as the entire stay of the resident as needed. Our Med Techs are responsible to dispense and manage our residents medications as directed by their physician.
Our Activities staff are dedicated and passionate individuals. They encourage them to participate in activities of their choice and keep them active with our daily exercise program. We also have a beauty shop on site to keep our residents looking their best.
In a nutshell, we are an affordable luxury living. We have different base prices for our rooms here at the facility. Whether you would like a room in the expanded part of the facility which has larger, unshared bathrooms and personalized thermostats or perhaps these amenities are not necessary and the original side of the facility is what is best for you and your loved one. Another option is whether a roommate would be ideal or perhaps privacy is the better option.
All options include:
- 24/7 staffing: making rounds every hour
- Home-cooked meals: we can accommodate any dietary requirement requested by the residents physician.
- Wi-Fi
- Activities
- All utilities, including basic cable.
- Housekeeping and Laundry
- We provide the bed, nightstand, lamp and a chair; our closets and dressers are built in.

We toured the Emerald Oaks Senior Community. It's a nice community, just very nice, very caring, but it was just too high priced for us. We saw the rooms, they were nice rooms. It was shaped like an L. The only thing we didn't like about it was the communal shower. They had all the normal stuff, places for people to go play games and things like that. It felt more clinical though. The staff was nice and caring. Most of the people ended up having roommates because they were able to split the cost of their rooms. But if you want a separate room, it's pretty expensive. It's nice, it's been refurbished, renovated, but I thought the other place has a much better feel for my mom.

I have selected Emerald Oaks Inc. I have an immobilizer in my leg, so I have help with showering twice a week. It was recommended by a physical therapist at the other facility. The food is very good. They have lots of variety of things that they fixed. They have friendly and helpful staff. They have beautiful facilities that were done up for Christmas and other holidays. Their dining room is gorgeous with tall and really large windows to look out at the orchard. They have a good activity program.

I had an in-person tour of Emerald Oaks. The physical appearance was nice. The rooms were clean. The sheets were clean. The administrator was very nice. She provided all the information I needed, and I voiced my concerns to her about my mother yelling and having some issues. She assured me that my mom was going to be okay in there. They have activities for the seniors, and they gather in a circle. They give them activities to move their arms, feet, and legs. They play games with them. The room was set up nicely. My mother's going to be in a shared room, so there are two beds. The bed is clean. The place is very nice. Everybody was nice. Even the patients there were nice.

My father-in-law is staying at the Emerald Oaks in Yuba City. We chose it because it had an opening at the time and the price was right. A representative from the family could visit, but because of the Covid, only one was allowed to see inside. From the outside, it was very well-kept and beautiful. He doesn't need much help, so we don't need to pay for anything extra because he is still able to get to the bathroom. He is not happy with the food though. He doesn't use his teeth, so he is having a hard time with that. For activities, they have Bingo and music. Only a doctor goes in there right now because they're on shutdown again. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they try to engage him and try to make him feel welcome.
