My grandmother and mother lived here, and my father currently lives here. I cannot imagine a staff of more caring people. This is the easiest 5-star review I have ever given.

My mom is living in Nazareth House. We had to switch rooms a couple of times in the beginning. I don't know if there's a ton of variety with their meals. There are not a lot of organized activities outside of the center which my mother would have benefited from. They have a chapel onsite which is important to her. It's probably the reason why she chose it and why she's choosing to stay. They're good at certain aspects, but I just don't think there are a lot of activities. Everybody would have activities in the center, but they don't have activities outside of the center so people could be out and about. The rooms are nice enough, they're nice-sized, but there is no microwave or even a little refrigerator, which is a bummer. In different hallways, they have kind of a group refrigerator so residents can put leftovers or special items in that. I don't think their bathrooms are safe for people with balance issues because there's a step to get into the shower. It's an old community and needs to be upgraded. The size of the rooms is fine in the regular assisted living center, but most times you have to share a room and it gets cramped. It's one of the least expensive places so I would rate the value for the money a four, just given the cost of these places usually.

My parents lived there for 10 years and they were always treated with great dignity and care. Wonderful friendships were made there and activities are good, food fine.

We visited Nazareth House San Rafael and they seem to have good people. They offer transportation to some doctor's appointment. They offer three meals and they got pretty reasonable price. The staff are really nice and friendly.

Nazareth House of San Rafael don't have a skilled nursing license and no medical director even though they provide all the same level of care. Tthe staff is excellent, the care is good, the facility and food is fine. One other shortfall is they don't provide transportation for volunteers.
