I toured The Peninsula Regent. The staff was very nice. They were more than willing to show us around and point out the different community rooms and activities they have. It was very clean and there was a lot of care taken, it's very nice. I felt very welcome, and the residents we saw seemed happy to be there.

TPR is a wonderful place - great staff, food, and convenient location. I have two major issues: 1) TPR has 3 reasons they can require you to move out. Since these reasons are fairly common among older people, you should think hard about whether you want to be in a place that could make you move at age 90. This is what is happening to my parents right now and it's heartbreaking. I do not recommend it! Find a place that has a continuum of care and allows people to die in place. 2) TPR has unusual and (in my opinion) immoral financial policies. If you choose or are required to leave, you will still have to pay the monthly fees until your unit sells (very difficult in the current market). In addition (and this is what most upsets me) you have to pay TPR a 10% transfer fee based on what you originally paid for the unit (NOT what you are able to sell it for). My parents, in addition to incurring a huge loss on the sale of their unit, will also pay an enormous fee to TPR. This policy is very rare in the industry. Until these policies change, I do not recommend moving to TPR.

The property is very nice-looking, but unfortunately many residents are very unhappy about the food. It keeps getting worse, and people there don't feel comfortable speaking up when they are dissatisfied. It seems to me some of them are intimidated and don't want to rock the boat. I'm unhappy about the lack of activities for my parent, too. I feel like the administration there should be warmer and more caring. You know, show they have a heart for old people.

The Peninsula Regent ranked very highly. The community was fantastic. We got to talk to some of the residents. Everything there was good. The location was great. The rooms were a little bit older, but the general-purpose facility that was shared was all recently updated, and it looked very nice. Mainly, it was the community there that made it the most attractive. They don't have memory care. They took us around all the general facilities. They explained things as we were walking around. They have a gym that's very nice, and they have personal trainers on staff. They have a pool. All the things we were looking for, they had, from that perspective.

We visited Peninsula Regent about a year ago. It was super. The atmosphere and the apartments were all excellent, and the staff members were super people. It was a beautiful place with great service and good food.

I was very impressed with Peninsula Regent. It’s not near my home but I’m familiar with that area. It just seemed like a nice, clean well run place. It’s established, and been around for so long. The people who work there seem to know what they’re doing. And they all speak English which helps. I didn’t hear any complaints from the residents as well. The rooms are alright; they’re not wonderful but they’re quite satisfactory. Friends of mine live there and are happy with it. I’m nearly satisfied. However, its kind of expensive.
