Dad is in San Bruno Care Home, and he's just been there for 2 months and it's been a nightmare, from miscommunications to issues with my dad. They advertise as "24 hour awake staff" and they are not. They are not equipped either for "24 hour awake," and they have to pay the staff to get up with him in the middle of the night -- which is fine because they're doing that. It just seems I'm always having issues with them. They're not really capable of the handling of a full-on dementia patient, but they're very caring, and they're wonderful staff. The food is fabulous. My dad has eaten everything they've given him, and they're trying to accommodate him. If I wasn't comfortable, he wouldn't be there. My problem is not the care, the quality of care, or any of that, but with management. There have been miscommunications, but we're working it out. If you're in the early stages of Alzheimer's, then it's a fabulous facility, but if you require dementia care, this is NOT the facility for you.
