Taking care of my parent and my in-laws for the last 14 years, I have had the opportunity to utilize several skilled nursing facilities for rehab after a variety of surgeries, including broken hips, heart attacks and related surgeries, knee replacements and other ailments. Most recently my mom needed rehabilitation services after a cardiac incident. She is 92 and suffers from the early stages of dementia. I toured several SNF in the Roseville/Sacramento before selecting Pine Creek Care Center from the list the hospital gave me. I was very grateful when Pine Creek accepted my mom, because I was horrified at some of the places I saw. During my mom's 2-week stay, she was well taken care of. She said the food was "fantastic". The staff were very caring and attentive, even though they were often short-staffed. Their response time to requests for care or to get to the bathroom was great. The place was always clean. The staff always polite and helpful. Her nurse, Liz was amazing. She was patient, responsive, and always helpful when I needed information about my mom's vitals, condition, medication or whatever. The rehab services were vital to my mom's recovery. I often came to visit mom unannounced and she was always up, dressed and sitting in her wheelchair. Her bed was clean and made up most days. The shared bathroom was always clean. Sure we experienced a few bumps in the road while mom was there, but, trust me, they happen in all care facilities. What is important is how the staff respond to the bumps. At Pine Creek I was continually impressed with their responses. Her case manager, Peter, was always available to assist and he even called me at home to follow-up on a couple of issues. Overall, I thought Pine Creek did a great job and I am thankful they were there and a bed available at the time my mom needed a SNF. Thank you everyone at Pine Creek. Your efforts on my mom's behalf are greatly appreciated!

This place is terrible. Room was dirty during entire stay. Patients are ignored. Food is served cold with no flavor. Staff are rude and do not come when call button is pressed.

This place is horrible. At first glance the staff seems nice but you basically put your loved one in the bed and when you leave they ignore them. My mom broke her arm and cut her leg and they did not take care of her! The nurses are basically just baby sitters that do not do a good job! I made multiple complaints and at first it seemed they got better but then they would go right back to treating my mom like garbage! When a patient clicks the call button it should not be ignored for 1 hour. Not to mention my moms knee got infected if I had not noticed she would have lost her leg. Of course staff did not notice that. Even after telling them they said the wound care nurse was on vacation they did not even clean it everyday. The social services workers there are a joke. Just take a look at Ashley H and you will know what I mean. No professionalism whatsoever! My mom wound up having to get surgery on her knee to remove the infection she almost lost her leg and if I had left her there that would have been the outcome. DISGUSTED!!!

Pine Creek Care Center is pretty good. My mom is there and like any other skilled nursing, they have a lot of different people working on your loved one, helping them with physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dietary. They're doing their best with the situation in our country right now. The place is nice and clean, and you have to wear your mask and shield. When you go into the resident's room, you have to put on a gown and gloves because of COVID. So, they care about their residents and they're very safe. They always have the meals on time for the most part, so they're doing pretty well, and they're always friendly. Since my mom has to have her food pureed, the food is not too appealing for her, but when I see other people eating their food, it looks pretty good. They've been doing pretty well about getting her back on track and they're good at helping the other residents with showers. They answer questions and they're pretty good about that too. I think one of the things they could do better is communication because they have so many people doing different things that you have to hunt for each group. It'd be great to have one person tell you how my mom is doing in all areas instead of having to hunt for them. If there's a day nurse or someone that's in charge of the room, they'll just ask you, "Do you have any questions?" Of course, I have questions. So, they're a little weak on that part but the staff has been wonderful.

Very Frustrating place! I regret taking my mom there! :( she got there right after hospitalization. One of the staff came there to change her diaper while recovery. She put mom in a toilet bowl seat, took a diaper off and left her in a bathroom for an HOUR alone!! Mom was left alone, naked, sitting on toilet seat with her feet off the ground. REDICULOUS! how can you do this to elderly, helpless people??? This is more than ABUSE! "Red Emergency Buttons" are there attached to the bed just for fun, to play with, no function! Mom was trying to call nurse to get up ( High Risk Fall pt), 1.5 hours later of the CNAs showed up. Is it a proper care?? Food is horrible, no shower for 2 weeks, physical therapy is there for 10 minutes the most. I want to CRY OUT! So mad and neglected!!! :(((

I was at Pine Creek Care Center. It is a skilled nursing and rehab. I got all my physical therapy and whatnot there. I was a director of nurses in long-term care for 25 years, so I'm from that end. When I tell you my impression, it is both as a patient who is in a lot of pain and as someone who just knows what the regulations are and things like that. Pine Creek Care Center has very nice wide hallways, and lights are coming in. They have excellent rehab staff. Also the dietitian I would give high marks to as far as talking with you finding out your likes and dislikes, and it showed up on all trays from then on. The nursing staff overall were usually attentive and very courteous. If I have to go back again, I would go there at Pine Creek Care Center. I was just there for rehab. I wasn't able to do much as far as activities because I had a raw fracture, but I did get to church service, and I was down to physical therapy and occupational therapy. They took me to where most called a gym, and it was part of the therapy, but still it was out of the bedroom and out mixing with people and so on. I really thought their menu varied, and meals were also served hot or at the appropriate temperature. While it wasn't a restaurant thing, it was nutritional food, so I can't fault that at all.

Mom has been to this facility for 12 days. I was really happy with this facility. It was great! She broke her hip and then had a surgery. She went there for a rehab. As soon as she left the hospital she went to a rehab. I very much like this facility. She's well taken care of. The staff are all very nice, very knowledgeable, very helpful, very kind. I would recommend this facility to others.

We felt this facility was short staffed, and although our dad was there only a short amount of time, we felt his care was neglected. Communications were terrible. It was hard to get through on the phone and a family member drove all the way there from the bay area to fill out forms that they could not find. When he was transported back to the hospital, they left his personal belongings at their facility. When I called to check his status one day, the nurse was unable to read the notes.

Horrible! Never put a loved one in this home. I have to admit this is the only home I have experienced so I can't compare but was completely heartbroken to see the way staff cared for patients. Unless you go daily (and stay for long periods of time) to ensure your loved one is taken care of or even given medications that are ordered by a doctor... I can assure you that the staff there won't! However there is one nurse there that will properly take care of your loved one and his name is Jeffery. However Jeffery can't be there around the clock. Please! I know it's a hard choice to place a loved one in a home but for their sake take the time to find a better place. My loved one was there 4 days before passing. Please out of the love for the human kind do not put your loved one in this nursing facility! Once again I have no other home to base this off of but if this is the best they have"¦ if you can quit your job and care for them yourself, or check them into the ER it would be a good choice! Thank God my loved one only stayed there 4 days and I was there to advocate for them! - I know your situation and wish I could have read this review before experiencing it myself... God Bless. And thank God for Jeffery.
