Kensington is a wonderful assisted living memory care residence. The building is hotel-like, nicely appointed rooms & grounds include large garden w/ walking paths. Spacious dining areas & tasty meals; many daily activities for residents. But that's not what's important: management & staff are exemplary. Not a moment's concern about my wife's safety & well-being. Exemplary staff: caring, competent, attentive, friendly. Staff also cares for resident's loved-ones. A meal was sent to me when I was sick. Good resident medical care when needed; great communication. STRONGLY recommend to anyone.

We like The Kensington Redondo Beach because it's a smaller community. It is also closer to my parents' home, so they would be closer to their friends, other family members, and their church community. They have fewer residents. The ratio of staff to residents is almost two to one, so that's good. They have a three-and-a-half-minute response time to emergency calls, like those little things that they wear. Their response times are really impressive. They want their residents to feel like they are home, and they want their families and visitors to also feel like they are walking into the residents' home throughout the whole community. The dining room is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. They can come and go at whatever times they want and get whatever they want. They can go as often as they want, too. Their family and friends who come to visit the residents can also eat there at no extra charge. They have another room they call the salon, which is where they gather for their happy hour every night. There is live entertainment seven days a week. There is a snack bar set up where they have coffee, tea, and infused waters all day long. They have soda water and refrigerated beverages in one area, and then in another refrigerator section, it has yogurts and fruit cups. They have another area where fresh fruit, chips, and cookies are available 24 hours a day for the residents to grab a snack or a beverage as they please. Their apartments do not have a full-serviced kitchen, but they have an apartment-sized refrigerator, a sink, some cabinet space, and a counter space. No stovetop, no microwave, and no oven because food is available for them whenever they want it. They don't encourage people to cook in their apartment, too. We also met with the director of the community. He was very friendly, outgoing, open, enthusiastic, and passionate. He was welcoming and comforting. He entertains sometimes, too. He is a nice guy. We tried the food, and it was excellent.

I visited The Kensington Redondo Beach. It's a very luxurious facility. They have very nice amenities. They've got their own dining room. They have excellent apartments and living quarters. We had dinner there and then I think they asked us to come back again, and we had lunch the next time. I had a salad with some meat, chicken or something, and we had soup, bread, and they had desserts. It was very nice. I didn't meet a whole lot of staff other than the people who serve the dinners. But I talked to the management and they seemed to be very concerned and helpful, they talked about how the staff was well trained and well paid and would be very helpful for my wife.

The Kensington Redondo Beach is like a five-star hotel resort. They're top of the line. They have a lot of activities, and they have amazing food. They're very helpful, courteous, and engaged. The facility is really well-manicured. They have a courtyard, and a lot of seating areas.
