My brother and sister-in-law moved into Oakmont of Torrance. They have an excellent facility, all modern, just very appealing. Just top-notch. The staff is excellent. The meals are first class. They have games, bingo, and live entertainment.

Oakmont of Torrance was a good place. The place was very clean. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, and very welcoming. The patio and sitting area were nice and calm, too.

Oakmont of Torrance was a very thorough and upscale memory care. They showed me the grounds and they're very clean and very neat. There was an activity going on for Father's Day. I think they had a casino day and there were a lot of people who were interested in attending the function. Everything was clean and the person who showed us around, the nurse, was very thorough. The rooms were adequate. They're basic. They have walk-in showers, which is really nice, and they had double rooms, so you could either share a room or you could bring a family member. What I liked about it is on the outside of the door, they put pictures and all the memorabilia of the person that's living there in a case to help them remember. I thought that was neat. That shows that each room was an individual room. It was quite a facility. It was really nice.

Oakmont of Torrance is gorgeous. It's beautiful. However, they sit on a major traffic artery and there's traffic all day long. You can just hear traffic moving around there all the time. That was the thing. It's off of Lomita Boulevard, and that's a major artery in Torrance because it's all hospitals and things like that, so there's just constant traffic. The rooms were also on that side, so that would have been very uncomfortable. Nevertheless, the staff was just amazing. They made me cookies. When you walk into the lobby area, it's an open cafeteria. It was very open. Another thing about Oakmont of Torrance is that it's expensive, but it's worth it. They have like a casual spot where you can go get coffee, and it's like a little cafe. The formal dining room where everybody eats was on the other end and it was gorgeous. It's all buffet-style. They have amenities like a gym, a courtyard, a salon, and a place to do massages. They're full-on amenities, but for $12,000 a month, they need to be full on amenities.

I picked out Oakmont of Torrance, and I gave them a deposit to be on the waiting list. The man who did the tour was very nice, polite, and showed us everything. And the building itself is across the street from our primary doctor and is down the street from all our other doctors and towards Memorial Hospital. So it was a perfect location for us. And the room that we got is as big as we had seen in all the other places. The price was a little higher than some others, but it was okay. It's a very nice place. We got a one bedroom with a balcony. They seem to have a lot of activities and they have their own private bus to haul people around.

I toured Oakmont of Torrance. From what I could see, it was fantastic. It was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were nice. They were not as big, but you can have a single room or a double room. There was a choice. They showed us the menu, and it looked wonderful. They had a wonderful area that was almost like a bar, and they had a game room. We went into the bar, where they had happy hour. It was a beautiful room. It had tables and easy chairs. It was very attractive. They had a sitting room with a fireplace next to that. However, the dining room was not as bright as the other places because everything was on the first floor and maybe a little darker. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. They had a beautiful lobby. They had a nice big patio garden in the back. It was very, very nice. We went with a lady that showed us around, and she was terrific.

Everything at Oakmont of Torrance was great. From when you first walk in the door, I can't imagine anyone not wanting to be there. The atmosphere was wonderful and uplifting. There was a big round table as soon as I walked in the door that had a huge bouquet of flowers, and right in front of it was a sign welcoming me with my name printed out. I just thought that was great. Everything was clean. Everything smelled fresh, and it wasn't covered up by a perfumy smell. It almost smelled like it was a brand-new building. The grounds were very well kept up and nice. The staff showed us the different apartments from single apartments up to two-bedroom apartments. She was very patient and answered whatever questions I could think of. She was very thorough. There was an area to be able to sit, and they provided coffee if you wanted it. There were snacks available to you right there, you could take it yourself. There were two big restaurants. Each table had a tablecloth and a menu like you're going into a high-class restaurant. They could eat 24 hours a day if they wanted to. There's always something to eat. They have snacks out for them all the time. They even have a separate bar and they have different drinks. People could order if they want wine or beer. They can even have one glass of wine or one glass of beer with their meal at night if they want. They provided transportation if the person needed to see their doctor or if they wanted to go shopping. They just set that up and they're taken to where they want to go. They have outings. They had a big movie theater with a huge screen. They provided popcorn for them. There were people in the activity room with a huge screen, and they were bowling. And then there was another table where ladies were sitting around and they were doing jigsaw puzzles. It was just a wonderful experience.

Oakmont of Torrance was a beautiful facility, modern and clean. They provide many services. The staff was extremely helpful, and she was really good. They have a salon and movie theaters. They give rides to medical appointments. It's very high-end, and you get what you pay for. The location was close to my parents' medical care, close to family members, and easy access from the freeway.

Oakmont of Torrance was very nice. It was a newer one and only a couple of years old. So it's very up-to-date, and kind of more modern looking. They had a large game room. They had different areas that people could sit around, play games, and stuff. The one thing we noticed, it could have been the time of day, but there weren't that many people walking around. The ones that we met were extremely nice and helpful. The facility was clean. The dining area was very nice looking. They definitely got options for the food. It was a good feeling when you were in there. They had a nice courtyard area for people to gather. I think the biggest issue with them is they're more expensive.

We toured the Oakmont of Torrance. I give that the highest recommendation. That's the place we like the best. We were impressed, it's very, very nice. They were very friendly, very cordial, and very informative. It's a fairly new facility, and we liked the facilities, it was excellent, the rooms were very nice and all that.

Oakmont of Torrance was nice. The property was nice. It was very, very clean. I mean, they offer physical therapy and get the nurses on staff as far as doing their meds, and they can provide rides to the doctor's office. They can recommend doctors because that's what I needed to know. After all, my mother's coming from out of state. So they would try to accommodate for a transition of getting somebody here from out of state. The staff was very informative, but she didn't stand out. They had patios and courtyards. They offered three meals, they have bistros, it's in the hallways where the residents can get snacks, and they have a community -- little areas for watching TV.

I toured Oakmont of Torrance and it's lovely. The staff is wonderful, they greeted us upon entering the door, and they made us feel welcomed the moment we walked in. The rooms looked good, and the staff appeared very competent, as far as that is concerned. The memory care unit was really, really on top of their game. They're not going to allow the patients to wander outside of the building unless it is enclosed. They have indoor activities like board games and so forth. If dad wasn't in the dementia unit, they have a get-away type of thing, like day excursions. They were really good. I have not tried the food, but I saw it and it looked so good.

Oakmont of Torrance is a beautiful property. The staff is very friendly, caring, and they got great customer service. The rooms are just beautiful. They are pretty spacious and they got everything that my mom would need. The atmosphere was very welcoming too. They have a concierge desk in the lobby, so somebody always greets you. They have physical therapy onsite, a salon, regular activities in the lounge, as well as game groups, and a library. Then they have their own meals self served, like a bistro, and they have a beautiful outdoor courtyard.

I visited Oakmont of Torrance. It is new, and I think it is OK. It is right on Lomita Blvd. I did not really like the location that much, but it is a nice facility. Their pricing is a little high for where they were. They gave us a meal, and it was very good. They also gave us a Super Bowl package on Sundays, and that was good.

My parents moved into Oakmont of Torrance. I liked it because it was new. I liked everything about it, and they were also offering some very good discounts to move in. It's very good so far. The food is excellent. Their room is outstanding, large, and beautiful. My mother said it's so clean, and it's a wonderful place. My aunt moved in also. They have great employees, and it's next door to a hospital. If I was looking for a place to live for myself, I'm going to move there.
