I am/was a resident of this facility

My apartment at Valley Orchard has been home for over two years and I couldn’t live in a happier place. The staff is extremely caring and there is generally no turnover. Even the high school and college age dining room servers stay employed here until they move out of Petaluma. They know you by name and remember your preferences . There are plenty of extra activities like bingo and bocce ball in addition to musical entertainment, exercise classes, bus trips for shopping, restaurant dining and ...

I have started moving my stuff in at Valley Orchards Retirement Community, and I should be able to start living there in about a week. I was very impressed with it. The staff was very helpful, kind, and understanding. The room that I will be in was really very pristine, and it smelled so nice and clean. I have seen their menu, and it is wonderful. They have a salad bar, and they focus on fresh fruits and vegetables. They have a very large dining room. For lunch, you could get a sandwich with s...

Valley Orchards Retirement Community was very clean. Even though it's a really old building, they've kept it up. The studio was pretty small, but it's clean, in good shape, and well maintained. Everybody was very friendly. They had several activities that they offered. There's a knitting club, bingo, writing class, movement classes, stretch classes, music socials, game days, religious programs, and a whole lot of things. I've seen their menu for the whole week and it looks like they have a lot o...

I visited this facility

Valley Orchards Retirement Community is basically senior apartments. The sample menus I got there were not as appealing as the other place. The facility itself was well-cared for and well-tended, and the staff that I met was nice, but in looking around, the residents just had their heads down and were going about their business. It didn't have that sense of life that the other place had. I only met one staff member and she was fine. I did not try the food, but the sample menu I saw wasn't exciti...

Valley Orchards was very home-like and immaculately clean. The apartments were acceptable except that no pets were allowed. The other problem was the dining room. If you use a walker, they would take your walker from you. There's no assigned table, but you had to go through an open line for salad, soup, and beverage before you go to a table and for someone who has a walker, it's very difficult to do that. Once you're seated, someone will come over to you and ask which entree you want. The entree...

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is in Valley Orchards Retirement Community. For her needs, I think it works very well. They do not provide any type of healthcare there. The rooms and the setting are very nice. It has a ring of redwood trees all around it, and it’s very quiet. I feel like the staff is very attentive to the residents. They keep track of people. If they don’t see them for even one day, they go and check on them.

The Valley Orchards is very nice. The staff is great. They have bingo, a shuttle bus service and all kinds of stuff. The pool is gorgeous.
