My mom is now at Valley Pines Senior Assisted Living. It's very homey. She was able to get her own room there, which was something she wanted. A big decider was the price of it for what we were paying, for the size room she got, and just the quaintness of it. The grounds are very beautiful. My mom is pretty happy there. It's privately owned. The owner moved down from San Francisco. She and her husband bought a house and then a property and opened it and raised her kids there. They run it, so it's very personable. They have people coming in singing occasionally. You might be a little more dependent on your family. As far as I can see, it's a great place for my mom as she is well taken care of. I love the lady who owns it. She's just nice, and she has a funny sense of humor that my mom gets most of the time. She says the food is good. It reminds her of what she used to have with her grandparents. There are a lot of choices. My mom seems to be happy there. The subtleness of complaint is more her mental state, which is what I see. They're understaffed a little bit. I don't see anybody needing anything, but they're down one lady, and she had worked there for 35 years, so that makes a difference. And COVID was a little rough. It is a small family-owned business, I don't see anything bad there, but my mom is picking up on it that she feels there are not enough people working there. However, the staff is great, and the place is very clean. There are activities, and they're trying to bring in more. The food is nothing fancy. It's not a high class. The other place my mom was at, they had choices. They don't have a lot of choices here unless they can't have something specific, but pretty much everybody gets the same thing. I haven't eaten there, but my mom likes it. It's kind of bland, but the lady said, 'We do that because there's so many on restricted diets.' For what we're paying for, it's worth it. The owner's comment to me was, 'We're not out to make money, we're out to make it so that people can be here.' When I walked in there and looked at a few of the other places, I thought, 'This is home. This is just home,' and it's very comfy. For the price and the size of the room she has, it's great. I was blessed to find it.

My Dad loved the ambiance, culture, food, the surrounding facility among many other things. He loved that they provided events and wellness activities. Staffs are nice and caring. This spacious rooms are amazing, they provide great meals to the residents and also have a commercial kitchen that they can serve every residents. It is located in a peaceful community in Morgan Hill. This is an awesome place!

My mother lived at Valley Pines for five years. It was always comforting to know she was in such good hands, and with such a compassionate staff. It is family own operated and my mom was very happy with the family style home, did not feel live in the facility. It will be my first choice when it is my turn.

We didn't like the setup at Valley Pines. The caretakers owned the property, took care of the people, and ran the place, but they were very caring and wonderful. The grounds were beautiful. They had a garden with flowers and a garden where people can plant stuff. The activities looked good. However, there were some residents wandering the halls and were lost, which was a concern.

Valley Pines is very appealing and well decorated, like a home, not a hospital. It is not all tiled hallways, and has a comfortable feeling. Their interaction and communication with the people is not a 5. Compared to a similar place, they are more expensive for less.

Valley Pines Senior Assisted Living was old and one story, but the people living there seemed happy. They really promote movement of the elderly. The building was square with a large courtyard in the middle with birds and pretty flowers. The residents were walking around the building, and it was very clean; everything on the tables just shined. It had a family feel, not like an apartment. It had community bathrooms wherein they helped the residents shower. It was very nice and very clean, but it was more for the needy and disabled. The residents were moving around and exercising. There were rooms, not apartments, with a bathroom without a shower, but I liked it very much.

I only made a quick tour at Valley Pines. It was an older building, but it was very clean. It had a very beautiful garden. It was not as well appointed as the one my mother was at as far as having private rooms. They did not have as much as activities going on, but it was very nice.

Valley Pines Senior Assisted Living was gorgeous, but it was very small. It was like living in a home. It was aesthetically beautiful.

I wanted my mom in Valley Pines. It was clean, well-lit, and affordable. The staff interacted with the residents and everybody was really happy there. The rooms and apartments were very nice and very affordable. They were self-contained and self-furnished, but you can have it either furnished or unfurnished. They were bright and clean and the style of the furniture was really nice, something like an older person would love. The dining room was really nice with ambient lighting and they even have a piano there. They have a whole gamut of outdoor activities, events, shopping, doctor’s appointments, occupational therapy and planned field trips. Daily activities were exercise, yoga, workshops, and music sessions.

I am so happy to know that I have a friend there when there are so many homes to choose from. He loves the care and great food that they offer daily. I have attended several of the activities and they are well planned and the help the residents and their family and friends celebrate special holidays. The staff has been there for a long time, there is no revolving door so the residents come to know them and appreciate their care and concern. Family and friends are welcome at any time. The rooms for the residents are spacious and comfortable which gives the resident a place for their special belongings. I would and do recommend Valley Pines at any time you may find the need for a residential living arrangement for yourself or a loved one.

I love the family atmosphere at Valley Pines. The staff have been there for years and are compassionate and caring. I put my Grandfather in Valley Pines about a year ago. He was on 5 pain pills a day for crippling rheumatoid arthritis. He didn't smile very much and to be truthful he was a grump. Drugs do that to a person. Slowly but surely, Carolyn, one of the owners, has worked at replacing some of the heavy drugs with Tylenol and what a difference. Valley Pines, itself, is beautiful. It has a garden oasis with lovely walkways and beautiful furnishing. I am truly thrilled with my decision to place Grandpa there and so is he.

This is a beautiful facility. The Inn has been run by the same family since its beginning. Those who work there really do their best to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy. This place is great!!!
