My relative has been at Mill Creek Manor since March 30. They have all different people there. It has been really good and helpful. They're really good about answering questions and letting us know exactly what's going on. Residents are able to go out because they have a nice yard with tables. If we get there at lunch or dinnertime, they'll let bring my relative's tray out to him so he can sit and eat with us at the table outside. He is still a little confused, but they have been very good to him. They have a calendar up of activities daily. They have done everything we asked. They make sure that my relative is up to date on his shots, and all of his medications are now straightened out. He had gotten pneumonia, and they took care of it. They called us, told us they were going to take him to the hospital, and got him back. They had taken care of everything.

My mother was at Mill Creek Manor (Braswells Ivy Retreat). It was too dark to walk down the hall, and it smelled so bad. My mother wasn't happy there. They didn't pay any attention to her. They need to light the place up, get air conditioners, and do activities with the people.

If you have any patient that's hard to deal with, Braswell's Ivy Retreat in Mentone would be the one because the staff is fantastic. It's a quite old facility, but they keep it very clean. They only have two in a room, so it's not bad.

This is a skilled nursing facility. It's a locked facility to minimize wandering patients. My first impression when I entered was not good. The smell of urine was throughout the facility. The staff were gathered around the nursing station talking about their weekend. They also spoke negative about the unhappy family member of one of my families. They recatheterize their patients daily following every shower or bath. My family was unhappy with this facility.
