On the occasions I have visited Sakura Gardens, I have found the facility to be impeccably clean and was impressed by the friendly and caring staff. Most importantly is that my aunt is always smiling and cheerful, a good sign of the care she is receiving. Shin, in particular, is always helpful and makes sure our questions are answered.

I toured Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles. That's a very nice place. The place is very clean. They've got good care people, and the rooms are very nice. The rooms are reasonably sized. It has a nice courtyard and a nice walking area. They've got a koi pond.

Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles was very clean and the staff was very helpful. It's gated so it's very safe. I saw the dining hall and then a one-bedroom. It was nice. We are looking for a bilingual or more of a Japanese-speaking facility, and this person helped me and showed me around. She was fully bilingual. So, that would have been good for my friend. It was a good experience.

The staff at Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles was friendly. Overall, it's OK. Everybody seemed happy. Everybody would say hi to each other, so that's pretty good. The wall and the ceiling were kind of a little outdated. It probably needs a little renovation, and they need to clean it a little bit. The staff during the tour was a very nice lady. She was friendly and very welcoming. They had a lot of activities, but I was there on a weekend. They said they had no activities during weekends, and family members come and visit their relatives. The dining area was big.

I personally like Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles. My friend kind of likes it, but the sister-in-law is domineering, so she has to have the last say so. The sister-in-law didn't like it. She said it's too structured and she is afraid of the elevator. She said there's an elevator, and my friend will get confused in the elevator. There was confusion with the manager at first because there was a miscommunication as to the appointment time, so we ended up being toured by one of the nurses. She was very thorough. We went to one of the rooms and I like it. My friend seemed to like it also, but she was quiet all this time. The sister-in-law was the one asking most of the questions. When we came down, she showed us the recreation area. It was closed at the time. When we were outside of the building, she told us about the koi pond and the community garden. There were a lot of benches all over the place, and that's one thing I like. I also like that there's a security guard and that it's very secure. The area outside is not that nice, and it's not a very safe area, but since there is the security gate and the security guard, the residents will feel safe there. The facility is very clean, too.

Our Aunt is staying at Sakura Gardens for a few months now and we are really happy that she is able to live in a clean and safe home. Everyone at Sakura Gardens is very helpful, friendly and attentive to our Aunts needs. She enjoys daily exercise classes and an occasional movie. The grounds are well kept with a Koi pond and a turtle that likes to hang out on the rocks. Her father stayed there many years ago and we remembered how well he was taken care of. We are grateful for the amazing care that they provide at Sakura Gardens.

My mother has been a resident in Sakura Gardens Los Angeles Memory Care Unit since March 2021. She has adjusted quickly after her transition from home. The Memory Care Unit is clean and bright. The caregivers are very friendly and warm and frequently give me updates when I visit. My mother has made friends with some of the residents and is always in good spirits when I visit. It is very reassuring to know my mother is in good hands with people who really care about her well being. I am grateful to the staff at Sakura Gardens Los Angeles Memory Care Until.

My husband has been a resident in the memory care unit since it opened in the fall of 2019. His sister was a resident at the assisted living facility since the fall of 2018 and moved into the memory care unit this spring. They have been happy there. The staff is friendly and attentive and enjoy my husband’s sense of humor. The staff lead and participate with the residents in art projects and cards among other activities. The staff work well together and are willing to help. They call me as needed if there is an issue and put my husband or sister in law on the phone as necessary. The rooms are clean and kept organized. They have a health care professional trim their toenails monthly for a small fee which is much appreciated. We love walking around the grounds, it’s easy to push my husband in a wheelchair and we see other residents using walkers. We enjoy seeing the koi and seeing and hearing the waterfalls and the variety of flowers which attract butterflies. My sister in law meets friends from the other facility before and after meals and they enjoy talking together.

Our mom has been living at Sakura Gardens since June 2021. It is comforting for us (her family) to know she can communicate to the staff and caretakers in Japanese for all her needs. She has also made many friends that speak Japanese too. She enjoys going to exercise classes, and origami classes. It is clean, quiet and the food is good! Everyone is very nice there! Overall, she is very happy living there! Thank you Sakura Gardens!

Our mother has only been at Sakura Gardens for 4 months but seems to be thriving there. She’s made many friends and seems to be feeling more and more comfortable each time we visit her. The staff have all been very accommodating with her requests. It best part is that she feels that she is part of a community at Sakura Gardens.

My mother is 97 years of age and has been a resident of Sakura Gardens’ senior living since July 2021. She was reluctant to leave her house of more than 30 years as moving to a senior home was to her tantamount to abandonment. Born and educated in Taiwan and having lived for years in the US, yet her language of fluency and sense of culture are mostly Japanese. We faced a daunting task of finding a suitable, caring, clean and health-minded place for a beloved parent. It was with an enormous sense of relief and gratification that we found all that in Sakura Garden. My mother is happy in her new home. She has a one bedroom with a view of the Los Angeles skyline, the glimmering lights of which delight her in the evenings, as she waits for the diligent and cheerful nurse to bring and watch her take the nightly medications. The knowing staff placed Mom with three other residents at the same table for all their meals, where they are seen laughing and chatting away even as others have left the dining hall. Having become friends and companions, they go to exercise classes and see movies together. At times Mom likes to sit at the bench under the shade of a big tree by the entrance to relish in the afternoon cool breeze on a hot day, or go for a walk to greet the colorful koi fish at the pond. She is getting more forgetful as expected, but the dedicated and well-trained staff members are always patient and with understanding are able to take care of any mishaps and concerns. She told a relative recently that her home now is at Sakura Gardens.

Sakura Gardens provides a positive and nurturing environment for senior living, especially in the Legacies/Memory Care unit where my mother resides. The facility is bright, airy and clean. The shared room are fairly spacious and upkept very neatly. The staff is well-organized, trained and very caring. Beyond the level of care that I deem to be at a very high level, the reinforcement of the Japanese culture and heritage in the facility is a huge plus for my mother and comforting for the family, knowing she is in a place that offers familiarity to her heritage. The Japanese cuisine that is offered in addition to its normal Western menu along with the various cultural activities allow the residents to feel comfortable in the surroundings and a peaceful setting to live out their final years. Our family has noticed that our mother is visibly happy there and socializes with the other residents and staff. We are grateful to have such a facility serving our community. Transitioning my mother to a sr. living facility was difficult, but knowing that Sakura Gardens would provide the proper amenities and environment for her, gave us peace of mind.

My mother has been at this facility for almost three years. She is 92 years old, and recently the Sakura Gardens celebrated residents over 90 years and older. There were few residents over 100 years old. She is pleased with the facility and the overall value she gets from being a resident there. She loves her ceramic class and is very proud of the many pottery products she made. To me, the number one value is the staff. They have a fantastic team starting with Daniel, Shin, Marylou and trickles down to everyone else working there. Daniel did a great job communicating information when Covid was peaking in LA county and athereafter. He still does an excellent job getting the word out about the boosts, flu shots, visitation and activities. I was delighted to see the majority of the resident got vaccinated early on after the vaccine got emergency authorization. I cannot say enough of Shin and the help he extends to my mother. Marylou and her staff are most helpful with my mother's needs and wants. Overall I feel very comfortable with my mom being a resident at Sakura Gardens since I know she gets constant attention and care.

Our parents have been at Sakura for almost a year, and their overall experience has been very positive. The facilities are nice and clean, and, more importantly, our parents are content and doing as well as can be expected. We have found Daniel, Shin, and the rest of the staff to be responsive, attentive, and proactive. This has been particularly true as to one of our parents, who needs assistance from staff with some activities of daily living. We have also been impressed with the job they have done navigating the pandemic and arranging for residents to receive the appropriate vaccines. Needless to say, we worry about our parents constantly, but we worry about them less since they moved to Sakura.

Absolutely exceeds all of our expectations. Shin, the Communications Director, could not have been more cordial, more professional or more considerate in greeting my now 100 year old mother-in-law, Yoshi, and my wife and I on our first visit and many subsequent visits to Sakura Gardens. We very much appreciated his guided tour of the facility and our luncheon on that first visit which was three years ago. All of our questions were answered while he spent considerable time with us. He introduced us to Daniel, who also was beyond impressive, and one or two of the other residents at Sakura. These gentlemen obviously care very much about their residents. The furnished apartments are very comfortable. Housekeeping and front desk staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. The overall services and amenities provided including the excellent three meals per day greatly assisted in facilitating this significant transition - major life style change. Yoshi, who just turned 100 three months ago, has seriously enjoyed her three year stay at Sakura. She loves her very comfortable apartment and continually talks about the delicious food and the many services and activities provided. The management team and staff has certainly protected all residents during the pandemic. Shin is an incredibly understanding person who really cares about all residents at Sakura. He also happens to be a major gentleman and a really nice guy. My wife and I feel extremely fortunate to have found such an excellent community. Huge accolades, appreciation and many thanks to Shin, Daniel, their staff, and Sakura for making Yoshi's three year stay so comfortable and successful. Keith and Mari

Sakura Gardens does a fantastic job for my 92 year old Nisei mother. They serve Japanese food which she especially likes. They have daily exercise classes that gets her out of the room and areas where she can walk on her own when she feels like it. I myself love the 24 hour on duty nurse which makes me sleep better at night.

My mother is in Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles. She speaks only Japanese and the nice thing is they have Japanese-speaking caregivers and Japanese cuisine. They can select either continental or Japanese cuisine. All staff and residents are vaccinated and strict protocols are in place. They have a lot of activities and volunteers from the Japanese community come out and do things in Japanese for them, such as daily exercise, karaoke, movies and small bands. They have beautiful gardens, a huge koi pond, waterfalls, rock sculptures, and bonsai trees within the grounds. All the staff are incredible and they do everything to help the residents. They've just remodeled everything, and it's a very reasonably priced. AWESOME

My mother-in-law moved into Sakura Gardens at Los Angeles memory care. It is a community that caters to the Japanese-American community. The facility itself is located in a gated, secure space. They have Japanese koi ponds there, which are really nice for the Japanese-Americans that are residents there. Overall, the grounds are really well kept. The gardens and everything is really, really well kept and up-to-date. That was one of the things that was really attractive for her (even though she is in memory care, not assisted living). They also have an assisted living part of the Sakura Gardens; but she's in the memory care unit, which is a separate section. Overall, it's a very nice and a very welcoming environment. The staff has been wonderful. Being it's memory care, it's a different level of care. We are very pleased with the care that's being given to my mother-in-law. There are no issues with the care. Care has been great. They try to get all of the residents out as much as they can to participate in watching movies, playing cards amongst themselves, and supervising them if there are activities as a group (which I think is very important for my mother-in-law). Even though she's got issues with memory, it's good stimulation and a good environment for her to be in. They have card playing, art projects, watching TV together, and playing cards. She's been there for about four weeks, and it's been great. The food is great because it's geared more toward the Japanese-American community. There's rice, and today it was teriyaki beef. It was geared more toward that population, so the food has been great.

My mother is in Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles. My parents are Japanese and the nice thing is they have Japanese-speaking caregivers and the food served is a selection of continental and Japanese cuisine. They can select what they want to eat. No resident got COVID in the past four months, so I think the safety is great. They have a lot of activities and volunteers from the Japanese community come out and do things in Japanese for them. They have beautiful gardens, a huge koi pond, waterfalls, rock sculptures, and bonsai trees within the grounds. However, a new owner took over, and they've been increasing the rent. The elevators are not working all the time, and the air conditioning breaks down once in a while. The staff is incredible and they do everything to help the residents. They've just remodelled everything, and it's very affordable.

Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles was a very good place especially for memory care service. We liked that, but their fee was so expensive. They had a private garden for memory care, and the facility was so clean. It's one of the best. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable, explained everything from the monitoring to the menu. She showed me the rooms and the restrooms, and there were two persons per room.

While evaluating Sakura, Shin and Daniel made my mom and myself feel very comfortable that she would be well cared for. There was transparency and all our questions answered honestly. After being there for about a month, she confirmed that our trust was well founded. She is enjoying her stay and feels part of the community.

Sakura Gardens is a clean and well run Senior Retirement Community. The staff is very helpful and provides excellent care for the residents. There are many social activities, excursions, classes, and special performances that provide the residents with a lot of options to keep active. There is also a "resident" garden, where you can request some space and plant flowers or vegetables. Our Mother took an excellent tour, and decided to move from another care home to Sakura Gardens. She's really been enjoying her stay!

We chose Sakura Gardens for my father because it has a Japanese community, they serve food that my father enjoys, and they have a memory care unit. They have all kinds of activities, too. They have exercise classes and entertainment. They have furnished apartments so we don't even have to bring anything.
