I am happy with Our Hands Care Home where my mom is living. It has 6 beds, and I'm very happy with the way it's being run there. The staff is very good and attentive to my mother, they do what I ask them to do if something is needed, and they let me know if there are some issues with my mom. The place is very clean, it doesn't smell, and my mother has a very nice, bright room to live in. It's an older home.

First of all, Our Hands Care was a private home that they rented. The rented home had 5 rooms, and I believed they were licensed for 6, but they did not own the house. They rented it. So, it was a room and care rental. If you were interested in semi-private, you could rent that level. If you wanted a private room, you could rent that level on a monthly base. That was the set-up. They had 3 meals a day. They showed me a menu before we signed a contract, but they did not adhere to the menu; they just cooked whatever they felt that day. There was no menu provided. It was just whatever they had in the kitchen. For the first 2 weeks, we sent food back. It was unacceptable; we would not let her eat it. So, we brought our own food. Then the food started to improve. It was getting better. They were trying harder.
