I live at Palm Island. It's a senior community for 55 and above. It's a really pretty place. There are lots of trees, it's very attractive, and it's kept up very nicely. They have a library, a clubhouse, a card room, a billiard room, and a dining room, but they don't serve meals every day. The dining room is just for activities. There's a studio which is a junior one-bedroom, so it isn't just one room. There's a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a patio. There are also one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. Two bedrooms have either one bathroom or two bathrooms. You have to bring your own refrigerator. There are outlets for washers and dryers, but there are laundry facilities here. The staff is very cordial and very nice. There's an elevator. The only drawback I see is the rent keeps going up very high. It's California, so that's my big problem. Right now, I'm in a studio and I'm paying $1900. If I were to rent this place just coming in, I'd be probably paying $2050 for the same apartment. I'm worried next year it's going to go high and some people get $150 increases a month. They have Taco Tuesdays, muffins and coffee on Thursdays, donuts on Saturdays, and then we have a dance once in a while and there's food at those events, but not where you go into a dining room and they serve you.

We chose Palm Island for my mother. The upkeep was good. The staff is average. There are a lot of walkways. It's all nicely landscaped and maintained. They have a small gym, a small workout room, a swimming pool, a large common area room where they hold various events, a sitting room, and several areas where you can sit or gather with people.

I liked Palm Island very much, and as of now, its number one on my list. They have a full time director, I liked the apartments, and it was affordable. They dont serve meals there. If ever I sold my house, I plan to move there.

Palm Island was very good. I really liked the place. They have a lot to offer for the seniors. The staff was very nice. I really like it, but my mom has mental problems, and so it isn't going to work. They have a nice pool and a nice fitness room. Everything was very nice and clean.

What we took at Palm Island is a two-bedroom plus a den. It is very clean, and they got us in at the time we wanted. The staff answered all our questions, and they have been very friendly as all of the people that we met. They have a gym, a pool, a library, an entertainment of some sort, and a computer room.
