I like the community of Timber Ridge At Eureka. I like the way it's structured here, that we'd have meals together. It's good for me and good for other people, too. It's just the environment. People need care and need compassion, but sometimes it doesn't always work out that way. Most of the time it does, though, and I think it's still a very good place for people to go. I think the staff are excellent. They watch out for your needs and they're very good at mealtime prep. They watch out for what you like and what you don't like. They're very interested in what you need and what you are looking for. The food is OK. It is good for us. It's well-prepared and very timely. They have a lot of activities that I am interested in.

Pathetic management. Mother had no heat in room for 1.5 years and bed with horrible creases was never replaced. Ongoing patient harassment from neighboring resident but no help from management. Resident had stroke from abuse and died.

I went to Timber Ridge At Eureka. The staff was okay, and the facility was new in modern shape, and very nice. They had a cafeteria type setting, and the tables were spaced quite apart. They said they had a list of activities. It was homey.

My mother and father moved to this Eureka, CA facility last summer and I visited for a week to observe their care. The building is new, furnishings are clean, rooms are individually decorated and the grounds well kept; the dining room is large and the cuisine, though institutional, is quite good and new menus are created every week. A variety of in house activities and organized trips for shopping and recreation are available. The maintenance, health care, food service and administrative staff are consistently alert, reliable and show good judgment and "people skills". I have not made price comparisons but my sister, an MD, judges the facility good value and among the best available in the area. I don't have any worries about my parents' welfare, now assisted by hospice care for my ailing father, and I'm grateful for the quality of care provided by Dr. Farnum and his family.

The Timber Ridge were very friendly and nice. We had a complimentary lunch, and the food was OK. They had some 2 bedroom offerings, but they were a little bit more expensive than the other place we visited.

Terrible management. Read about the recent lawsuit at Renaissance. Poorly trained staff, unethical and illegal what this place is doing. Don't place your family member here. Owner and managers are not ethical or professional . They will say they have a stellar reputation, but it is not true.

Dad has been in Timber Ridge at Eureka for a week now. It seems like all of the people who work there are pleasant, and the place is clean. I haven’t eaten there, but Dad said the food is good.

The dementia unit is pathetic. The staff is classless and shows no compassion. They enjoy belittling their residents. No stars!!!

My experience at Timber Ridge of Eureka was very negative. It didn't meet my needs. They have units with four rooms and then a little hallway, which they call a sitting room, and in one corner, there is a small fridge, a sink, and a microwave. It has one bathroom for these four bedrooms, and I didn't like that. Some, there were only three bedrooms to one bathroom. All of the people I saw there were assisted living. There isn't anybody walking around by themselves; they're only in wheelchairs and walkers. They did have very little in the way of activities and nothing after 4:30 p.m. The people go in the dining area and get served when they are ready, and nobody is eating with anybody else. They did not invite us to have lunch, and it was lunchtime.

Timber Ridge had a program called Renaissance which was associated with the Alzheimer's program. The Renaissance had more caregivers and more security to prevent people from wandering outside. Timber Ridge would be a good place in case my mother would develop further needs. I was very impressed by the staff during our brief visit. There was a wide range of activities. The facility was very attractive all in all!

I have always had a great experience visiting Timber Ridge. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, not just towards family, but also towards the residents (regardless of the resident's cognitive capabilities). The facility is always very clean, well maintained, and fresh. The facility is also very secure, windows on the ground floor are secured to only open a specific amount, and the building is secured with an advanced alarm system should any of the dementia patients get lost in the surrounding area. The food seems very well portioned, with a routine meal plan that is somewhat varied upon from week to week, with food made for a variety of different abilities. In addition, Timber Ridge frequently has group outings around the community (by bus), to site-see and sample local experiences. The staff changes with some regularity, but is always very well vetted, and they seem knowledgeable with regard to their duties. My relative has been in this facility for several years now and loves the community and care.

I felt the site was safe, beautiful, and well maintained. The facilty offers different lay outs and care depending on needs. Residents are able to keep their pets, which was a big plus. The staff seems to be friendly and seem to enjoy their job. Timber Ridge offers a number of ammenities which include social ammenities for their residents. They also offer many services as well as a wellness program and fun classes and events. I enjoyed that they allowed over night guests so I was able to stay with my family member. The dining hall was similar to that of a resturant. The food was healthy and nutrtious, and three meals are served to your table. A selection is offered which was nice. You're able to eat with whomever you'd like. They also have a snack and juice bar open 24 hours per day which was nice because sometimes my family member needs a snack in between meals, especially with certain medications.

I visited this facility in August with my mother. We both felt it was a perfectly maintained building with décor that gave the building a cozy and comfortable feeling to us. We were able to sit down and enjoy one of their lunch specials. It was very tasty and the wait staff was friendly and efficient. They were very patient with my mother who has hearing issues. I thought the call buttons they had for the residents is a great way to help maintain their safety. After speaking with some of the residents, they seem very happy with the facility because they are able to keep active with the activities that are set up for them on a weekly basis. Administration was very helpful with all my questions, which gave me the confidence that my mother would be well taken care of. I highly recommend this facility to anyone needing care for their family members.

In general this nursing home seemed to be well maintained. The seniors always seemed relatively happy, and the staff always seemed to be very attentive, kind, and patient. The facility itself seemed a little bit run down and old, but it was always clean, if not up to date in decor or technology. There were always lots of activities for the seniors, and the garden and surrounding area were very nice. In general the seniors seemed to like it there, and it was definitely the best facility that I had visited in the area.
