I am/was a resident of this facility

I was a resident of Casa Grande Senior Apartments. I did not like that. They were very small apartments and you could hear people talking. You can hear what goes on in everybody's apartment. So, it's not very private at all. The maintenance, they kept that up. They didn't take time with you. They're very rude. The manager of that building, and from what I hear, she's no longer there. She was very rude. They have lunch if you want to go down and get lunch. It's like a packed lunch or something. You just pick it up and take it back to your apartment if you want it. I tried one but I didn't like it. It was cold and wasn't appetizing. I didn't participate in anything. They didn't have a lot going on.

I came from a senior apartment called Casa Grande Senior Apartments, but when my husband passed, I came here to Arizona. It had from one-bedrooms to two-bedrooms. It's gated. It's a very comfortable place. It's a one-bedroom-one-bath. It's a big bathroom and a big bedroom. The staff is very nice. They're very helpful. They will try to accommodate you with whatever problem you're having. They have maintenance for emergencies as well during the night, and they have maintenance during the day. They're very friendly. It's a very friendly atmosphere there. Everybody there is very friendly. Before the COVID, the food came already prepared. They have a huge dining room. We sat down in the dining room, and they just bring you out your food. But when COVID came, they shut the dining room down. But they allowed the residents to come to the kitchen and pick up their lunch. The luncheon is free for those who qualify. They come to the kitchen to pick up their lunch and take it back to their room. The food is very good. It provides anywhere from Italian food like spaghetti and meatballs and Mexican food. There's variety. There's baked chicken and some pork chop with mashed potato and green beans. And then you get your fruits like an apple or banana, and you get your desserts like applesauce or pudding. What happens is, the food is being delivered from outside. Once it hits the kitchen area, they start warming it up in there. The place is very clean. The people there are very generous. If, for example, there is something that they want to give away that they don't want in their room, they will leave it out before the kitchen counter on the floor in a box, so you can help yourself. They have a barbecue part, so you can barbecue. They have the barbecue gas, and they have the table facility and the chairs for you to use their facility. They have a swimming pool, they have a gym, they have billiard, and they have a library. It's very well facilitated, and it's very clean. Before I left, before the COVID, they were having church service in the dining room on Sunday. When my husband and I were together, we both have our Social Security income, so we were able to afford it. We were paying $1350 plus electricity, and that's it. All the others we don't pay. They have their own insurance that you go through with them and you have to apply that you pay for the insurance. And it's very cheap and there's no association fee. It's just the insurance, your rent, and the electricity. It's very much affordable.

I visited this facility

People should take a tour of Casa Grande because the staff really got it right which is important. The staff sat me down, made me feel comfortable, listened to what I wanted, and were very patient about making me decide what I wanted. They didn't rush me. They went beyond their job and that meant a lot to me. I would have moved there. The only problem is the price because their rent was too high and expensive to me, but I love the place. They had a model home for people to see, and it made me feel that it's where I want to be. It was a small one-bedroom, but it was clean and had enough space for my things. Their dining area was very clean. They explained that if you wanted a meal, they make meals there, and if you want to eat out, you can. They brought healthcare there, so if I wanted to get Blue Cross or Humana, somebody is there to talk to, and that made it even better. They had a full gym which was very clean, a swimming area, bingo, and activities. I loved that they had a library. It would be nice if they had computer classes once a week to keep people in the know.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I have been here almost two months and let me say that 10 months won't go by fast enough for me. I may have to break the lease because it would be worth it than to stay here. I give ONE star only because of Wendy because the other ladies are horrible! This place is NOT for the elderly and definitely is NOT for the disabled. They (except Wendy) do not have the patience to deal with the elderly. The manager is very snippy and rude. I've heard her talking to people in the office as well as at their apartment and I was in shock! I wish I had recorded it. Getting dropped off and picked up for a disabled person is a NIGHTMARE! There is no designated loading/unloading area and they rent the handicap parking spaces WHICH IS AGAINST THE LAW, HELLOOOO!!!! My neighbor insists that someone has tried several times to break into her apartment at night. They lose or forget a lot of work orders and 'getting back to someone' never happens. One of the maintenance guys and the manager ALWAYS tries to find a reason to blame it on the tenant as to why something is broken or not working. How about trying to just fix it and stop making excuses!! They want to charge you for EVERYTHING even things that they are responsible for - like cleaning the carpet when you move, changing the carpet after five years, general painting and things that are normal wear and tear that should be done to an apartment after someone moves out. I know three people that moved that did not get their deposits or only part of it was returned. They take advantage of these elderly people and do not even give an itemized list of the deductions. Fair Housing has had a number of complaints but I don't know if anything is being done. They're not supposed to charge for normal "wear and tear" and general painting and cleaning. I've never heard of such nonsense! They show favoritism when it comes to getting a parking space. There are able-bodied people who get the close parking spaces while the elderly, disabled and people using oxygen machines, get the parking spaces far away from the building. Again, because the handicap spaces are rented, you have to load and unload people off of the curb (try doing that with a wheelchair) because the handicap spaces are reserved and if you block the person in because you want to use the ramp, they get mad because they have to wait until you're done. Good grief at least designated a few spots as loading and unloading only instead of trying to make some extra money off of monthly reserved parking. They tell you water is included in the rent and it's not. In fact, several people I know have had fluctuating bills and some of them are gone all day so where are the increased water costs coming from? You can't budget because NO monthly rent statement is ever the same! They charge you an administrative fee every month and you can't even pay your rent online you pay it in the office so what's the fee for? That's $60 a year that they collect from each tenant. Oh what I would give to move out of this place!!

I visited this facility

This used to be a nice community for my nana. New management changed everything and it feels like a motel. People working are not very nice and seen they do not know what they are doing. The did rent hikes averaging $1,200 and fees close to $840 across the board. My nana has lived at this location for over 5 years and had been visiting the community since 2008. We are now moving her. The place is no longer suited for senior citizens. She no longer feels safe there. Need a place for seniors look somewhere else that is senior friendly, do not care about being a community, I still recommend other properties. Most include parting, have a washer and dryer included with rent and do not charge $120.00 extra per tenant to keep the place clean. I also recommend calling the Corona police department and get stats about break ins and vandalism on this property.

Nana No Longer Likes It!

This property was a very pleasant place for my parents, but as of a couple of months the management was handed over to "THE REMM GROUP (www.remmgroup.com)" in Tustin, California, and they immediately fired everyone that worked in the building kept up the property and had a long close relationship with the elderly tenants just to cut cost. The property is now filthy and smell. The do not clean on a regular basis and there are flies all over the place due to the elimination of the weekly clean up crew that maintained the dumpster area clean. Beside the changes in crew, they increased the rent for all seniors by an average of $1,000 to $1,600 a year (majority are on fixed Social Security) and are lowering the owner's property insurance by requiring all seniors mandatory rental insurance with a minimum of $100,000 payable to the property. The insurance starts around $526 + a year totaling the increase close to $1,500 to $2,100. This is who they recommend the insurance with: www.epremiuminsurance.com. Three months ago I would have strongly recommended this property, but since the recent service cuts, cold "DMV type of service" management, and ridiculous increases look somewhere else!

I see from reading the reviews not much has changed with the rental office staff. I lived there two months and cannot recommend Casa Grande for elderly. The rental lady told me that parking was around the perimeter of the buildings and even marked them on a map. The parking was carports and were convenient. However those carports have a years-long waiting list, so the rest of us had to park down a steep hill that was not conducive for the elderly or disabled residents. She did not tell the truth just to get a unit rented - she claimed she never would tell me that parking was alongside the buildings even though I showed her the map she gave me with her red marker squiggle showing the parking area. The exercise area is near the mailboxes is it is about the size of a large closet - I thought it was joke.

I visited this facility

I just came into town to see my parents. I found them a bit upset with the level of response that they were getting from the front office staff regarding two work orders that were opened for wall plugs not functioning and loose carpeting throughout the apartment. Which may I add could be considered a grave safety issue to an elderly person. Imagine if any one of my parents trips over the unsecured part of the rug and falls. Therfefore I headed over to the front office to see if I could get an answer from the peoiple in charge. To my surpirse I came accross two of the rudest people I have ever met. This staff does NOT have a concept of what customer serivice is. I feel for the poor elderly that have to come acrross their violent temper every day. The easy way out is to move my parents out however that does NOT reslove the problem. This is going to be one of my many attempts to bring this to light and get these staff to change or find another vocation. Our parents deserve better!

I am/was a resident of this facility

I just moved to Casa Grande last month and it is very clean. The staff is friendly and the other residents are fine. I needed to be able to have a dog and that's fine. The people try really hard, the biggest problem for me is, it's extremely tiny but I suspect when you move in to an over 55 place, everybody thinks that.

Casa Grande Senior Apartments is very nice and great. It is well maintained and secure enough. It is a 4-story building and has one and two bedroom. They have a library, a little workout room and a swimming pool.

Casa Grande Senior is a nice apartment complex for seniors. My mom likes it very much. They have 1 or 2-bedroom apartments. They have activities like bible studies. The staff seems really helpful.

Facility is clean and well maintained. Parking is distant and uphill. Guest parking insufficient. Request for non emergency repair slow. Requests for emergency repair instantaneous. Large attractive community room. Not enough planned community activities. Pet policy generous. Most of the residents have dog or cat. Management okay. Attitude is say what you have to say and move on. Residents are very friendly and very helpful to newbie. I am more satisfied than I expected.
