I have been to La Costa Glen because I've had friends there, and I'm familiar with it because I also stayed in their skilled nursing facility after I had my hip surgery. They have a very good skilled nursing service. My friends who live there take me to their apartments, but I'm not considering moving there because it's too expensive, they take over $1,000,000. The rehab experience was excellent. It was during COVID, which made it difficult, but the staff was excellent, the food was excellent, and everything was excellent. They had a double room with a big curtain in between, but I ended up in a single room because the other bed wasn't filled. They had little get-togethers and sing-alongs, these people weren't in the best shape so they can't do a lot. But they had a lot of activities, and they give you a basket with some stuff, and you can do things where you sit down. The rooms at the main facility were good, they were huge and they have fairly room cottages. They also had a long waiting list. My friends that are there are all very happy.

This is personal experience of my parents living their last nine years at La Costa Glen. The food and services declined severely over the final three years. The resident services director could not keep good staff, as they were either fired or quit due to her management. The morning of our mother's death, the resident services director called and stated "you need to get her out of here now". I think that sums it up. No hello, no condolences, just orders. We had already set up the mortuary for pick up. There were dozens of similar interactions with Residence Services director. The staff was terrified of her. Don't be mesmerized by beautiful grounds, the resident services management is awful.

No words can express how fortunate our family has been for my parents to have been able to live...and thrive...through the continuum of care spanning the last 14 years at La Costa Glen (LCG). Not only have both of my parents been able to benefit from using all four pillars of LCG's extensive expertise of care - Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing - but they have both done so while being treated like a loved family member by each and every one of the incredible associates serving the resident patrons at each and every stage. This does not happen by accident. Instead, it is a culture that is inbred, and executed from the first employment screenings, through the extensive training and oversight, and the attention to detail starting at the very top of management and passed down through the ranks. No matter the challenge along the way, the LCG Team has found solutions and guided the transition process at the perfect time needed. My parents have been in the very, very best of care during their entire long tenure at LCG, and I have never met anyone else living there...or their family members...who has felt any different. LCG is truly the Living Paradise before we take our last ultimate journey. I would give LCG 1,000 Stars if I could on the Review Scale, and my entire family feels so blessed that my father made the extremely smart decision to move from Fairbanks Ranch to LCG when he did in 2008. They could have lived anywhere in the world! But I am confident that it would be hard to find a community that offers as much in the continuing care continuum, and provides such care with as much love and sincerity of effort as is provided through the entire staff spectrum at La Costa Glen. Whatever your individual circumstances, may you find the same happiness through these final transitions as my parents and our family has so beneficially experienced through our long association with La Costa Glen Continuing Care Community.

My mom is currently at La Costa Glen and it's been pretty good. With COVID, everything kind of changed, but they look out for her. She has a two-bedroom apartment and it's comfortable and very nice. We just had breakfast there and they were very good. It was fresh and cooked well. They have a large dining room and terrace area where you eat outside, and that's where we ate. They also have exercise classes, yoga classes, then they play Bocce ball outside, and they can swim. I don't know if they've started up again, but they had bus trips to different venues and concerts.

I have lived in the independent retirement community at LCG for 6 months. I could not possibly be any happier. The facilities and grounds are beautiful, spotless and excellently maintained. The staff is outstanding, friendly and professional and always willing to attend to your needs. There are many choices of spacious floor plans available. All have full kitchens and large bathrooms. I have one which is perfect for my needs with has the right amount of floor space and a fantastic view. There are two fine restaurants with varied menus. Each has an informal lounge area. The food is excellent in all the facilities and there is take out available. There are an outdoor and an indoor pool, each with a spa and sauna. There are over over 300 activities each month with choices to fill everyone’s needs. I have enjoyed the company of a variety of friends who I have met here. The residents are very happy and friendly. I don’t have to worry about any maintenance or services, it’s all included. I recommend that you take a look for yourself or loved ones! While it is not inexpensive, you do get what you pay for and I consider it a good value.

The food was excellent at La Costa Glen. They have good chefs. You can choose to eat lunch or dinner there every day and they have a complimentary continental breakfast all the time in their clubhouse. The units have very large kitchens. It's older, but the facilities and activities were very nice. It's first class. They have a nursing home, board and care, and independent living. The staff seemed great, but I didn't experience any more than sales, a waitress, and the chef. They have more restaurants and they have two clubhouses. They're bigger, but the villas were fairly old. There's a whole sheet of paper activities that comes every week. It's beautiful, has waterfalls, has a lot of trees, and there are golf carts that will take you all around the facility. You just need to call them. Everything is done for the people.

La Costa Glen looked nice and well kept. They had an indoor pool, tennis court, and exercise room. The dining area looked very nice. There was a mixture of buildings with some one-story buildings, some apartments, and some townhouses.

La Costa Glen seemed to be newer and very well run. Everything was well organized and established. The dining rooms and food were excellent. They had villas as well as small apartments. The people seemed very upbeat, and they had lots of activities going on. It was very expensive.

We went to La Costa Glen. We found it to be very nice but very expensive. The people were very nice. It was a beautiful place that had everything, like a swimming pool, workout room, and a very nice dining room. Their rooms were nice. They had a barber shop and a beauty parlor. That was probably the finest place in the area and the most expensive. The staff was very nice. They took me around and showed me all the different facilities. They were fine, very accommodating, and took me to lunch.

Jean,
We’re happy to hear you enjoyed your visit to La Costa Glen, and had a positive experience with our staff and dining. La Costa Glen features maintenance-free living, and the campus brims with countless opportunities to remain active and engaged with friends and neighbors. All this comes with an attractive financial program, coupled with access to assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing care at the adjacent health center – if ever needed – creating peace of mind for you and your family. It’s truly an unbeatable value. We’d be happy to talk with you more about your experience, if you’d like. Again, thank you for your kind review and we hope to meet with you again in the future.

The grounds at La Costa Glen were absolutely gorgeous. They had a pool and a golf course next door. The rooms that I saw were small, but for me that is OK because I don’t need a lot of space. My overall feel of the place was that it’s very peaceful, quiet, serene, and a perfect environment for me to clear my head and write my book.

I visited The Glen (La Costa Glen). That facility was 15 years old, but the layout and the buildings were relatively new. My impression was very good. They guarantee that if you pay the entry fee, you’ll get 75% back if you decide to leave after five years. Also, they guarantee that when you move from the independent living to assisted living or if you want skilled nursing, the monthly fee would not change. However, it is 30 minutes away from my home, so distance-wise, it is not that favorable. In terms of the quality of the building and their service, I think this one was actually pretty good. I had lunch there, and the dining area was very nice.

I visited The Glen (La Costa Glen). I did like it, except it is really expensive. They also had a two-year waiting list. Their grounds were lovely. Their rooms seemed like they were almost all apartments, but I really don't want an apartment. The dining room was lovely, and the food was great. The Glen was a lovely place, but it looked cramped and crowded to me.

La Costa Glen is very overcrowded. I've always liked it, but the only thing that I feel now is that it is very jammed up. I didn't get a long look at it. I just visited there and had lunch with my friend. The food was very good. The staffs were very responsive, but I didn't find it easy to find people to get around. Before I found my friend, I had to find a parking spot. It is hard to find a parking spot there. Then I went into one of the buildings, the first one they couldn't help me, but the second one could. Parking there is terrible. My friend is happy there, but she is not exactly happy about her apartment. She didn't even want me to see it because she had a really beautiful home. She is in a building up on one of the floors. We all have mutual friends there. It is very lovely, and they control everything well. It seems that they have everything under control. It's very nice.

My mother-in-law is in La Costa Glen. She's been in there five or six years. It is very nice. It is Spanish Architecture and very low key, kind of quiet. It's all gated and kind of isolated. It's got a shopping center across the street, but it is not a full-blown retail shopping center system. It is very clean and very nice.

La Costa Glen is very good. They took us on a tour, and we had lunch. The food is very good. The rooms looked like all the rest. We looked at what we can afford, so it was limited, but they were adequate. The dining area is well appointed, very pleasant, and bright. They have the usual workout rooms, pools, and saunas. As for other activities, there are trips that they go on and different activities during the day. The tour was fine because it was informative, and it showed us what we needed to see.

La Costa Glen was a very upscale community. It is in a beautiful location. They have lots of activities. Their facilities were lovely. They had several homes that people can rent, along with cottages and apartments. Their accommodations were upscale and lovely; however, they're expensive.

I like everything about La Costa Glen. From what I've seen, so far so good, and I am waiting for a room right now. Overall, I like the facility. That is why I want to move in there.

One of the main reasons why we chose La Costa Glen was that it was near where my daughter and granddaughter live. They also have a lot of activities going on. Everything seemed very nice. They had the independent living, and then they had the assisted care, nursing home, memory unit, and rehab. It was a large complex. There were over a thousand people living there. They had a big assortment of quarters to choose from for the independent living, apartments, and houses. They had three or four bedroom villas for about a million dollars. The had three-bedrooms and a lot of two-bedrooms, bath and half; two-bedroom, one-bathroom; and also one-bedroom and one bath. The staff was very nice. The food was nice. They had four different restaurants where you could order from a menu. It was very nice like you were going out to a restaurant every night. With your monthly fee, you are entitled to one meal. If you wanted to eat all your meals there, you would have to pay extra for each meal. Of course, if you are in the nursing home or the assisted living part, they provide three meals a day.

Mom lived a couple of blocks away from La Costa Glen, so I was able to get to know the facility and had a visit there for my mom to move in. She already has a unit there, but they are just preparing the room. They have a large variety of sizes and shapes with regard to their rooms. We have been dealing with the sales staff, and they are very responsive. They have an activity calendar with multiple activities every day. This is a really upscale place.

I was quite familiar with La Costa Glen because we have a friend who lives there. It’s a very, very nice place. They have everything that a resident would want and they have the continuing care option that many places don't have. The staff seemed to be very capable and everybody is very friendly. The only problem with this facility is that seemingly it is quite pricey, but then again it is in a wonderful location.

La Costa Glen had everything from villas to apartments. It was a beautiful facility. They had a lovely ground that was well manicured and taken care off. They had the most gorgeous indoor pool. The day that we visited, they were going to have a dance that evening and they had a wonderful little theater where they had popcorn waiting for you outside and movies in the afternoon. They had a full program of activities. Most of the people of I saw, though older, they were independent. However, even though it was a continuing care community, you would have to enter first in their independent unit and you should not be diagnosed with dementia. But I would definitely recommend it to others.
