A dear friend of mine is now a resident at Ocean Hills Senior Living in Oceanside, California. this independent living facility is beautiful. They have a gym, pool, and daily activities which keep all the residents engaged and happy. Their restaurant has a very diverse menu which also changes daily. The food is very good and their staff and chef are aways on hand to help in any way they can. Bill, their maintenance director, as well as the entire staff should be commended for their thoughtfulness and work ethics.

We toured the independent living part of Ocean Hills Senior Living and I think they're pretty good. It's very clean, very nice, and it has a full kitchen, which we liked a lot. The place was also very well-kept.

We chose Ocean Hills Senior Living for my mother because of the level of care they could provide and the fact that it was quite beautiful. They have plenty of activities and it is very fairly priced. The staff is very diligent, knowledgeable, and they're very friendly to the residents. I like better quality and spicier food, but this is food that's designed for people in their 80s and 90s. The facility is very comfortable, very accessible, fresh, new, and clean.

We chose Ocean Hills Senior Living for mom because it felt warm and I felt like my mom would like it. There are a lot of active people there, and it's just very inviting. They have exercise classes, word search, bingo, Rummikub, cards, and puzzles. A lady comes in twice a week and sings for them in the dining area. They have activities where they go around San Diego County.

Ocean Hills Senior Living was very nice, but the layout was so wrong from what my mom wanted. Other than the layout, it's brand new. It just turned a year old. They have a gym, a pool, a Jacuzzi, and equipment for people who can't walk to get into the pool and the Jacuzzi. One of the residents was a greeter that's just been designated. She sits there and when new people come, she greets them and talks to them about how lovely the facility was. She's just a wonderful little lady.

My mother has moved into Ocean Hills Senior Living. It has spacious accommodations with very high ceilings. It gives a very uplifting feeling. I liked the fact that it doesn't feel like a medical facility of any sort so it just feels like high-end apartment living. My mother loves it because she doesn't feel like she's in any sort of facility. In other words, the best way to describe it is, it feels like a place where people come to live, not where they come to die. We checked out some other places and they had that vibration of an end-of-life kind of situation, which was a turnoff. But when we came to Ocean Hills, it very much felt like this is where people come to live, not where they come to die. It's just upbeat and beautiful. Being oceanside, the air is just amazing. It's such a good climate. In the restaurant, the food they have there is just five stars, it's just amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It is expensive, but we're getting so much out of it that I think it's worth it.

Admin not effective. Caregivers amazing. Support staff amazing. Admin poorly aware of how to support staff and resident needs. Medicine protocols full of problems. Admin aggressive when queried -defensive rather than helpful. Mom's best interests not fully addressed due to scheduling problems and continual excuses rather than solutions.

When I visited Ocean Hills Senior Living, I thought it was pretty good. It's a brand new facility and it's just right outside where I live now, so the convenience is pretty good. My daughter also visited there and waited for 10-15 minutes for an appointment that she had. I didn't get a very good feeling from the person that's taking me around. They tell you what you wanna know but I didn't get a good feeling of a caring person. She seemed to be not really interested. It's a beautiful new place, and they have amenities including a swimming pool. The rooms that I saw there were very nice. In terms of the upkeep, since it's brand new, everything's bright and shiny. It's located very close to hospitals; everything's within a 10-15 minute drive.

Ocean Hills Senior Living is a very nice place. The people here are very nice. Food is pretty good. You have a choice from two main dishes every day. If you don't like that, you can order a la carte (which I like). The apartments are rather small, which is why I'm looking for a larger one. It is a small apartment. It is only 500 square feet. The place is very nice and new. I live right across the street from them, so it was easy to move. There are all kinds of stuff you can do here. I'm not a joiner, so I don't do any of them. It is a really nice place, but I'm just looking for something a little bit larger.

I went to Ocean Hills Senior Living. It's a new one and really nice. It was good, but it's just really expensive, and a little further away from me; I need something closer to me. It's beautiful, they're brand new they haven't been there very long. Everything is beautiful there. They have a kitchenette. We were looking at the 1-bedroom; it's kind of small. The staff gave me a lot of information that was helpful even in the future for my mom. Even though I didn't take them, they were very nice.

I liked Ocean Hills Senior Living a lot. It's pretty expensive though. I'm considering the expense and the fact that it goes up between 3 and 7% a year, that's pretty costly. It seemed cheerful and not depressing. It seemed like a community versus an institution. The staff was friendly and informative. I saw many of the other things that they had like a fitness area, a beauty salon, a bar for happy hour, a nice dining room, and an activity room.

This is the worst place ever to send the elderly - they will talk a great talk but cannot live up to expectations. The food is the absolute worst, cleanliness is terrible, and the care givers do not care about the quality of care they give to the elderly. From a dirty dining room and silverware, to mishandling of medications, to slow responses when called, to even letting people lay in soiled garments because they would not take them to the restroom. I drove 16 hours straight to rescue my parents from this place. The management is more concerned about putting on a "good show" to new people, that they do not take care of the current residents. Tenants Beware!

Ocean Hills Senior Living has so far been so good, and I'm happy with the service so far. They haven't done anything that I would consider not up-to-par. They have a lot of activities, and they try to work with me to get some activities tailored to what my dad liked before. Their meals seemed fine to me, and my dad loves his room there. They're in line with how much other places cost.

The staff member at Ocean Hills Senior Living was very informative, friendly, and answered all our questions. The dining area was great. It's a newer facility, and they're going to be building new units across the street. They go on trips and have different games. It was clean and open, but the rooms needed to be a little bit larger.

Ocean Hills Senior Living was very good, brand new, and the grounds were very well kept. It had a very open courtyard area with benches, fountain, and barbecue. The residents seemed very happy and engaged, and it almost felt like a resort. The staff was very friendly and professional. They had a set menu with lots of food options and chef specials. It's the most flexible and most interesting from a menu perspective of all the ones I saw. This is where I would want to be if I was going to retire. They had a nice gym facility, a movie theater, a nice parlor, a bar area, happy hour and karaoke, and everybody was having fun. The residents seemed a little bit younger than a lot of the facilities. The place looked fantastic.

Ocean Hills Senior Living has only been opened a few months, and it had a very welcoming, calming feeling from the background classical music throughout the day. The receptionists are very mellow, calm, focused, and professional women. The rooms are a little bit smaller than where my mom was staying before, but the ceilings are very high with bright windows and pleasant window coverings, adequate lighting in the ceiling, wide entryways, and very large bathrooms to accommodate a wheelchair. They also have a kitchenette with a sink, a refrigerator and adequate closets. I'm very impressed with the staff who are caring and qualified, their uniforms are clean, and seem very focused. They ask questions about my mom to make sure they were giving her the care she needed. The chef aims to please the residents, and they are open to suggestions. It's the best food I've ever eaten in a retirement home. They have a lounge where they have entertainment. It's all glass on one side, and French doors open up into a center courtyard, which has a beautiful rose garden. I've sat with my mom for breakfast, and I wish their coffee was hotter. They take them on trips, have a gym, exercise classes, sing-alongs, trivia games, and ice cream social.
