My sister moved to La Marea Senior Living. The marketing personnel was extremely knowledgeable in the area of dementia. She's very kind. My sister's only been there for a week. All of my interactions with the staff have been very good. They've only been open for three years. It's a new building, very clean, very open, and very light. They have an outdoor courtyard where the memory care patients can come and go as they desire. The dining area is very pleasant. The rooms are very nice. Everything was just great. I saw their schedule. I did visit when they were playing a game just before dinner.

La Marea Senior Living was lovely. It had an elegant environment. They were extremely organized. The staff members were not only very professional, but they were very kind and caring. The food was outstanding. I saw a lot of the residents going into a room. I saw a lot of interaction with the residents and the staff. The staff that was working with them seemed very committed. If we make a decision, that would be at the highest level.

La Marea is a beautiful place with lovely views and beautiful spaces! I toured and Gabby did a wonderful job giving us the information we needed. La Marea looks more like a five-star hotel than an assisted living facility! Definitely worth checking out.

La Marea Senior Living gets a score of five on everything. We want to live there. It was very nice and brand new. There is nothing I can say wrong about it. Everybody was super nice. They gave us a cookie and something to take home.

La Marea Senior Living is spectacular! My Mom was very resistant to the idea of assisted living, being a very independent person who had a beautiful home and someone who worked until very recently (despite being in her 80s!). The minute she walked into her beautiful, high ceilinged apartment and onto her deck overlooking the gorgeous canyon, she cried tears of joy. She has blossomed since moving in last April, she is very happy and peaceful, the food is great, the staff is amazing and very accommodating. There are lots of fun activities like trips to wineries and the ocean. She has made good friends. Launa is a fantastic Director, you can tell she deeply cares for the residents and their well-being. Anthony and the medical team provide great care. I can’t say enough about La Marea. I could go on and on. Instead I will just add that my husband and I often say we would like to live there ourselves :).

I chose La Marea Senior Living for my wife because it's a beautiful facility. The people there are very caring, loving, and I just fell in love with the people and the place. She's been very well taken care of, and they're very respectful, which I like. I've had a couple of lunches there and they were very good. They have activities like music which is one of the things they do pretty well. It's a beautiful place that's well-cared for. They also have a movie theater, a cafe, and they have a bar for the assisted living people. It's rather expensive.

I went to La Marea Senior Living. It was lovely. It was brand new. The staff was quite informative, very helpful, and very lovely. He explained everything and answered all my questions. He was also very helpful with letting me know that he was there if I had any further questions or if I wanted to take another tour. He did follow up to ask how everything was and how it went. Everything was great. It's a very nice facility. He was very good, very informative, and knowledgeable of the new facility there. Maintenance and upkeep are very good because they've only been open seven weeks, so it's very new, and it's not too full capacity-wise. There are a very limited number of residents there because of how new it is, so it was very clean. Everything was good. There wasn't much going on at the time I was there. There were only five residents in the memory care, so there wasn't a whole lot going on. The staff did show where activities happen, and he explained everything about the whole community.

I'm very happy to write a review as the daughter of La Marea's Generations Memory Care's very first resident. We're only on day four, so check this space as I'll be updating my review from time to time, but so far I am deliriously happy with the choice that I've made for my mother. I had previously taken her to another facility nearby that was simply not right for my mom at this time. While my mom does have dementia, and needs the support of a memory care facility, she is still able to socialize and enjoy activities. When I called Launa, completely distraught about making the wrong decision for my mother, she jumped into action, helping me arrange to move my mom out immediately and into La Marea. When we arrived it was clear that this place was more closely aligned with what I had hoped for my mother. Incredible location overlooking the rolling hills of Carlsbad, gorgeously designed decor that was the same for both Assisted Living and Memory Care. Small touches like having the memory care residents eat off of the same china as assisted living were meaningful to me. Speaking of eating, we had a dinner with my mom on the first evening there, out on the patio overlooking the hills. The menu was incredible, and the meal that we all had was so delicious. No "hospital food" here! The chef came out and met my mom to talk about what she likes to eat which made her feel seen. The rooms are good sized, with very high ceilings which makes them feel more spacious, and I was welcome to come in to decorate it as much as I liked. The movie theater (with popcorn machine!), gym, hair salon and dedicated craft room are all beautifully designed and functional. The living/dining are for Memory Care is so elegant. Of course the most important element, the care, has been stellar so far. The staff are so caring and communicative, and during the times that I've popped by to visit my mom, she's been happily engaged in one of the many activities that they offer, such as walking, crafts, happy hours, etc. While she was instantly miserable at the other facility, here, she was instantly at ease. What a relief! If you're looking at memory care options in the area, I highly recommend you stop by and tour La Marea.
