The senior will need to provide evidence that assisted living care is the most appropriate for their needs. They will also need to prove that their individual assets are no more than $1,600 and their monthly income is below 300% of the Federal Benefit Rate
CHOICES(800) 994-9422CHOICES (Connecticut’s program for Health insurance assistance, Outreach, Information and referral, Counseling, Eligibility Screening) is a state-run program that’s free of charge to Medicare beneficiaries and seniors ready to enroll in a plan. Seniors can get unbiased information, advice, and support from counselors, who can help them identify gaps in their coverage and the Medicare plans that can resolve them. This might include discussions about private health care insurance. However, the counselors won’t try to sell insurance to seniors.
