Orchard Pointe at Surprise seems to be working well for my husband. Their caretakers seem very conscientious about what they're doing. The food is wonderful. He likes it and he's also very comfortable in his room. They have a lot of things going on and they have given me a calendar of everything that takes place every day (I'm going to join him today for a movie with popcorn.) They have lovely common spaces. They have an area with a piano and people come in to sing (there was a harpist yesterday). I'm very impressed with the activities. He is in the memory care and it's very secure. It would be a good fit for anybody that needs memory care.

Orchard Pointe at Surprise just felt very nice walking in. The people were very friendly and they seemed to cater to your needs. I liked it. They provide everything. They have the full-sized refrigerator, the microwave, and then the sink (like a kitchenette) in your apartment. The lady I met was very, very helpful. She took us all the way around and it was just a very nice facility.

My mom moved into the Orchard Pointe at Surprise. I liked that it was bright and cheery and very home-like, it had a very homey feeling, but she really likes the Catholic masses that they have every Sunday morning. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. She likes the food, but there's a few things that she hasn't enjoyed as much. They have tons of activities every day, from like 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. They have like a stretching class, they have a class called music movement and memory, which is held by Shannon -- and she's amazing -- they have bingo, they have happy hours where they bring in live musicians, they have different games, like trivia games, and stuff like that. They're less expensive than the other places. I just got a better vibe with Orchard Pointe. The first time I walked in there, it was open, it was super clean, and it was very cheerful. Everybody treats each other like family. Everybody is really kind, and that includes the staff and the residents. I would definitely recommend them.

We didn't care for Orchard Pointe. I didn't like the apartment because it was set up oddly. It was big and it had a private bathroom, which was great. We didn't like the set-up, though. It had a nice bay window, but then it had a huge built-in closet right next to it, so I didn't like the layout at all. It was bright enough and the staff members were OK. The person who gave me the tour was very nice, but the mask that she wore to present the facility was this big red lip. Every time we looked at her to try to have a conversation, it was hard to concentrate on what she was saying because it was very distracting and it seemed very unprofessional. The facility needed work, too.

My overall tour at Orchard Pointe was excellent. Everybody was very nice and everything was great. The fact that it's two stories might be a little bit of an issue for my aunt. We also didn't like the apartment floorplan. Nevertheless, the staff members were excellent, the facility was great, and the amenities were comparable with the others we've seen.

My parents moved into Orchard Pointe and it seems to be going well. They have significant needs for care and they're pretty happy. The staff is very helpful in teaching us about the place throughout the process. My parents had a lot of questions about how this was all going to work because it was all new for them, and they were pretty good in answering them and re-answering them until they were satisfied. The place is in very good condition. Everything is in very good shape. They have very nice accommodations for a couple. They have a very nice 2-bedroom apartment that's nicer than anything else in the area. A lot of assisted living facilities don't have 2-bedrooms and my parents really wanted that, so it really worked out well. The food is probably not their strongest point, but they have a pretty good variety and a lot of choices each day. If you're into the best cuisine, it may not have the best rating rate for that, but it has a lot of other good features that make up for it. It's very near to all sorts of shopping and restaurants and things of that sort. They offer regular transportation, but for me, it's walking distance. If anybody likes the Rangers Spring Training, they're super near that.

Orchard Pointe felt rather cold. The staff was not particularly outgoing, and they didn't offer us any food to try. The rooms were quite small. As for the dining area, we were just shown it from a door.

I liked Orchard Pointe. Amy was very nice, very personable, and very easy to talk to in explaining all of the amenities that they have. They had a chapel and music there. The patio was beautiful. They try to pull everyone in to meet each other, be friendly, and co-exist. What I liked was that they brought in outside foster children for current events in the neighborhood and other activities that involved the outside world as well.

Orchard Pointe is relatively new; everything was new and exciting. The staff is very friendly. It’s a beautiful facility; they have a park-like environment. The rooms were large, they had a little session on collecting, and then another one was flower arranging. They will check on her if she wants to go down for lunch.

We liked Orchard Pointe, but the only problem we had is that it didn't have the roominess that we would have liked it to have. The room looked like it's more cramped, but it's new. The staff were very nice, and their food was very good.
