My dad moved into Assisted Living of Surprise. The food is not as good as they had made us seem that it would be. But my dad is being kept clean, and they are attentive to his needs and everything. The staff members are very friendly. Sometimes the food that's brought in is not homemade. It's just boxed or just cereal for breakfast. The facility is nice and clean. My dad has a bed that is kind of like a hospital bed that he can adjust. He has a good-sized TV in his room. We brought in his lift chair that he had from his home, so it's easier for him to get up and down. They haven't had any activities. Compared to some of the other places and the level of care that my dad is getting, I think it's not too bad.

Assisted Living of Surprise looked very nice and they looked very organized. Everything had a schedule. I saw 2 rooms. One was a suite room, which looked very nice. The other one was smaller. Both of the people who assisted me with the tour were very nice and seemed like they had everything you would need. But I didn't meet or see any of the other residents there. I saw their menus for the month. One of their caregivers was the chef, so he did most of the meals. I saw their activity list, but there was nobody out doing the activity. They were all in their rooms.

We went to Assisted Living of Surprise. We were very impressed with the facility. We liked the whole thing. At first we were under the impression that they didn't serve meals there because in an earlier review it looked as though they were bringing restaurant orders in. While we were there, we saw that they had a printed menu on the refrigerator for the week. They did confirm that they do the cooking there on the premises. Everything was excellent. It was wheelchair friendly. There are two people to a room. If you didn't want to stay in your room, they have a nice great room that you could go watch TV. The grounds were very neatly kept. The place was clean and very tidy. It looked like it was well set up for an assisted living facility. The people who were there appear to be pleased with the facility. I mean, they realize they're older people and not that active, but there were smiling faces. It seemed like the place appealed to them. I would recommend that they visit the facility.
