My parents have been in Hilltop Quail Haven for about a week and a half. I’m very happy with it. It’s small and intimate, and my parents get really good, individual care. Their room has a little sitting area, a bedroom, and a bathroom. Hilltop Quail Haven can only have up to 10 people, and there are only five right now. They do exercise with them in the morning. All the vets go over to the senior day care, and my dad can go. My mom has severe Alzheimer’s, so she really can’t do anything. My dad needs independent living and my mom needs 24/7 care, so this is one of the places that would take them and keep them together. I would recommend them to others. Everybody I met there is really sweet, and they know me by name when I walk in. They’re really great with them.

Hilltop Quail Haven is pretty good and clean. It's an older place, but it's well-kept. It’s a big place. I go there once a week, take food, and take whatever my ex-husband needs, and the staff is good. Three times a week they go to a day care, they do all kinds of activities, and it’s a good dining room.

This facility is two nice homes with private and semi-private rooms. They do 2 levels of care which is independent and assisted. They have 4 indepent residents and 3 assisted. They offer housekeeping and laundry. They offer home cooking with three meals and snacks. The food is very good. They do a lot of homemade soups. They offer s variety to the residents. The homes are clean and yard areas well maintained. The yards have trees and greenery. There are porch/patios to sit outside. The staff are certified caregivers and seem caring. These homes are owned by a doctor who lives on site in an upstairs apartment. They offer no transport. There are some in house activities but no transport to go out. This is left up to families. If resident is a veteran they can hve transport and go to the srnior center. To me this seems a very limited strict run facility.

Facility is sort of off the "beaten track" on a dirt road - there are 3 sperate buildings. the oldest building is all filled up. There are 2 newer building, across the road. I was welcomed to wonder all about and observe the residents and staff. I did not find much activity going on while I was there. The staff seemed a little busy and short of staff. Some of the residents were ignored when they called out as a staff member walked by. The manager took turns with other staff members to "man the place " on a 24 hour shift. The expense was too high for me. They charged over $ 2, 500 for a private room and $ 1400 for a semi-private room. A person living on Social Security only could not afford this.
