My Mother has Parkinson's, is on hospice, and has lived at Carefree for over a year. Her financial situation requires that she share a room with another resident. The rooms are very nice and clean. There is a wonderful walk-out atrium with greenery, flowers, and bird-feeders. The food is good, and they have many activities, and bring in some musical entertainment. I visit once or twice a week. This is my Mom's 3rd Assisted Living Residence in the Verde Valley, and she recently called it "home" - (this is a big deal, as she can be critical!) I believe that the caregiving staff, and owner involvement is what sets Carefree apart. This is a small facility with less staff turn-over than I have experienced elsewhere. The facility is adequately staffed, and caregivers are friendly and attentive to the residents. The owner is responsive, and his concern for the residents and staff is evident. I feel good when I visit - I look forward to seeing Mom, and the staff! I recommend Carefree, especially for those who need quite a bit of physical assistance. Thank you to everyone at Carefree - I know your job is difficult, and I am grateful to all of you.

Carefree Assisted Living Center was more expensive than what we're willing to pay. The buildings were nice and clean, and the people were nice and attentive. The people who live there looked well groomed. The rooms were clean and seemed decent. I would rate the staff member who accommodated me a 5.

We toured Carefree Assisted Living Center, and it was more like a home. Everybody we talked to loved it there. Everybody was kind but didn't communicate very well; trying to get an appointment and feedback from them on certain things was difficult. We're on a waiting list there, and trying to communicate, but they never called us back. Besides that, it was a great facility.

My family and I highly recommend Carefree Assisted Living. Everything is perfectly established for quality care, the staff are competent and attentive and the food/chef is excellent. Both Carol and Gary are approachable to any of our needs and .my Dad's care was exemplary; gentle and loving throughout each phase of his illness. Thank you to all the angels at Carefree!

I really like Carefree Assisted Living Center, and they have everything from independent, to supervisory, to personal and to directed, so they have four levels. I had a very positive impression, and I liked the lady that we met -- Carol the director. The main meeting room where the residents congregate looked very nice. The whole facility was clean and seemed like they had good interaction with the residents, and I was impressed. The rooms would be a good fit for my mom for what she needed. They weren't huge but had enough space. When we arrived, a lady was interacting with a group of women sitting in a circle doing things together ,and they all seemed happy and engaged. The pricing is affordable for our circumstances. It's very well-run so I'm very impressed. It looked great to me.

My friend is in Carefree. The place is clean, and there’s a nice walled-in courtyard with bird feeders, which is lovely. The have a variety of activities for the residents and communal dining. The staff is nice.

My mother has been a resident at Carefree Assisted Living for 3 years. The staff has become like members of our family, with care and companionship she receives 24/7. I feel blessed every day that we have found such a wonderful facility.

One of the most difficult things one might do in their lifetime is having to place a family member, a loved one into an assisted living home. The choices can be vast and very emotional. Questions will be many and they are all justifiable. I started looking for my friend Carol early spring, 2015. When we walked into Carefree Assisted Living, Carol's first words were "This is what I want". It was late morning and there was activity all around. Carol Dexter helped us at that time, showing us rooms and answering questions we had. Being the very skeptical person I am because of past experiences with this, I suggested to my friend to wait and see. So we, better said I, waited to see. I became very pleased. At anytime I stopped in to look, it was always the same. Employees working, smiling, and speaking to the residents. Carol Dexter was endless in her quest to be helpful but never overbearing. She seemed to know when to be by my side and when to leave me with my thoughts. I had so many questions, some of which I asked more than once at different occasions. I was checking if the answers were the same each time and yes they were. I at no time felt pressured to sign my friend into Carefree Assisted Living Center. It was close to six (6) months before my friend was signed into her new living home. Carol Dexter kept in contact with me this entire time as I made sure my friend was truly ready in her mind to move. Never during this waiting period did I feel pressured by anyone at Carefree Assisted Living Center. I can never seem to "sing enough praises" for Carefree Assisted Living.

Dear Gary and Lisa, It's been such a blessing for our family to have our Mom at Carefree Assisted Living Center. It's not owned by some out-of-state big corporation, but by yourselves -- two loving, concerned owners who take a personal interest in all your residents. Because your facility is cozy, smaller in size and homey, the staff takes a personal interest in each person -- and knowing their needs. They treat each person with compassion and patient loving care. Oh, how our family appreciates every one of you. We were no longer able to take care of our mom at home and we, as a family, couldn't have found a better "fit". We appreciate you, your facility, and staff more than you will ever know.

Old age, dementia, Alzheimer's (not necessarily in that order) have a way of sneaking up on you. For my mom, it was a slow progression that we imagined we could handle every step of the way. We couldn't. After years of caring for her at home, Carefree has taken over tasks that I could no longer handle. She is happy, engaged, and safe. They have incredible caregivers 'round the clock in a "just the right size" facility. So much kindness and genuine concern for her well being. She is blessed to live here. I can't thank you enough for giving me the opportunity to love my Mom again.

I thought it would be important to share my personal experience with Carefree Assisted Living Center, as this is a profoundly important decision for many families to make. I have to say, Carefree is truly the best facility I have seen of it's kind. As a physical therapist, I have seen many facilities and none as caring and clean as Carefree. Last year, I had the opportunity to visit Carefree as a friend's mother made her transition from this world. The staff was so caring and nurturing, not only to my friend's mother but also to my friend and myself at a difficult time. Each caregiver and nurse that entered the room showed their genuine care and love, sometimes with tears in their eyes. I am very grateful for the loving and fully attentive environment that Carefree clearly demonstrates to it's residents and their families.

I had to, unfortunately, put my father in an assisted living center recently. He was no longer to care for himself and we couldn't accommodate him either. We looked and toured this facility multiple times before we finally chose to go with another place, although this place did have amenities that others didn't have. For instance, we really liked the down-home feel of the rooms and the entire location. It was very comfortable, cozy even, with it's limited ground size. It looked like a house! They did offer personal, independent rooms that were like apartments. Or you can choose to have a room-mate. They also seemed less institutional. They give more active personalized monitoring for each person. They offer certain amenities with different rooms. For example, some rooms offer for you to bring your own furniture in and others have a kitchenette. But they said they can only sometimes offer basic needs my father would need. Such as bathing, changing, laundry, meals, transportation, etc. I think the only reason we didn't go with this center is because it was a more independent in-home facility than what we were looking for.
