My mother has been in the Morningside of Vestavia Hills for several months already. I would say that the room that she's in is very safe for her. They have done several things that she asked for, like lowering the towel bar. She's just been very comfortable there. They are very friendly. During our visit, we looked at several different types of rooms, and my mom settled on a studio. They helped us measure up for our furniture. They helped her move in, unloading furniture, and bringing it up. Their director even kind of rolled up his sleeves and helped so they just tried to make it an easy transition for her as she moved from another state. She is in their assisted living. Their dining area is very nice with white tablecloths, and the service is excellent. The food is very good, I have eaten there. She is very happy with it. They have a puzzle room and a library. I know that they brought a musician in for Mardi Gras and they have wine tastings too. There are lots of activities. Unfortunately, my mother cannot see very well, so she's a little bit more limited with what she can do like the puzzles.

We toured the Morningside of Vestavia Hills. I liked the cordialness of the person taking us around. We stopped and met with several of the residents. It was very pleasing, and they were very professional and had great meals. It was just very eye-opening. The interesting thing that we did learn to separate from this thing is that independent living doesn't mean you can't live there if you're in a wheelchair or anything, so that was encouraging. They were just very informative, very professional, and very pleasant. We would suggest people take a good look at that. The building is older.

I visited the Morningside of Vestavia Hills and saw their independent living. It has independent living, assisted living, and memory care. They have housekeeping so they clean your room. They also serve 3 meals a day. It's convenient and the rooms are large. The staff are also very friendly. You can go out to do your activities and they also have a game room. They have Thursday nights when you can go play bingo. They also have a game night but I'm not sure which night it is. The place has a courtyard and the dining room is huge and open. They come and ask you what you want, prepare it, and bring it to you. They could improve their transportation.

I wasn't impressed with Morningside of Vestavia Hills. I just didn't get a good feel for the flow and for the people interacting with it. Everything looked dated. There was one staff member who was at the desk when we got there and she left that station to show us around. The structure was not outstanding in any way. It appeared to be clean, but it was not fresh and modern by any means. The layout of the room was pretty good. We had to go to the one that was occupied to see the layout. It was roomy and it appeared to be clean also.

The Morningside of Vestavia Hills was very pleasant, very clean, and very nice. Everybody was very friendly. We were impressed with it. It was updated and more organized. Everything smelled clean. The residents were also friendly. The staff was very good, hospitable, and accommodating. The presentation was very good, too. The independent living side looked accommodating. They had emergency buttons inside the rooms. They have converted all of their tubs into walk-in showers, and they are getting ready to change the carpets. It had a very nice garden area. They have transportation to the grocery store, to the pharmacy, and to the doctor's appointment. They serve 3 hot meals a day. It was just very pleasant. They have a library, a game room, and a recreational area where you can get coffee all day long. We liked it.

My friend moved into Morningside of Vestavia Hills. I think it's a wonderful place, and it's been very good. It's a larger place, and it has an independent living area, and an assisted living area. It has two floors of assisted living, and a separate dining area for the assisted living and for the independent living. There's an outdoor courtyard, too. The place is very clean. I have had limited opportunity to meet the staff. He is not a family member, but in all of my communications with him, I would say, they have been excellent. He likes the food, and I think he thinks it's good. He seems very pleased with it. They seem to have a good schedule of activities. They offer opportunities to go offsite, grocery shopping, and other activities. They also have movies. I would say they have an excellent range of activities. The price is very reasonable, comparatively.

The size of the studio room in Morningside of Vestavia Hills was by far bigger than other ones. There were multiple activities and multiple amenities available as far as meals, transportation, and affordability. The staff was very nice and very courteous too. They had some exercise classes and a library available for the family. Now that COVID restrictions are being lifted, they are making plans to do outside visits and events, like going to zoos, libraries, senior centers, and such.

I've toured Morningside of Vestavia Hills. I like it. I've looked at the independent living. I'm thinking very seriously of moving there. It is only about three miles from where I'm living now. It's much better than where I'm living now. It's much more economical. One thing that I'm looking for is to get into a better situation there. This place where I'm living is just going up so much every year, and it's eating into my retirement. Morningside of Vestavia Hills is very beautiful, very beautiful. They had just renovated that place. I don't remember how old it was, but they said they had just renovated it, and it was gorgeous. The colors were soft aqua and sand colors, and everything was just done gorgeously. You could tell interior designers have just done the work. They also have sitting rooms available on the floor. There's a nice seating area. They also have water available up there with nice cucumber water, lemon water available, coffee available, and tea available, 24/7, which we don't have here. It was a very extensive tour. The staff who gave me the tour was very knowledgeable. Actually, I called her back and asked her questions, and she gave me a lot of the information. The place was very beautiful and gorgeous. They had just been renovated. They have an on-campus beauty shop, a beautiful library, and a librarian that's there every day. They have an activity director who does a lot of activities, and one of the things that I thought I would enjoy was they have a lot of educational type things, like college type things where they have a professor come in and talk. They have field trips to museums, and those type of things, which we don't have here. That I really thought I would enjoy.

My mother is a resident of Morningside of Vestavia Hills. It's an above-average facility. Everybody where she's at has some form of dementia, so it would be a different patient mix than the other place I toured. Her room is a nice size and in good condition, and the maintenance seems to be very good. The staff tries to do the best they can with the patients given their conditions. They have bingo, they get together in the common area where the TV is. They evaluated her and determined that she'd need 24-hour sitters, so we got that going right now. But because of the expense and cost restraints, we might have to move. The next day she moved in, I was sitting at the table next to her as she's eating her dinner. The overall common area is sort of an alcove where the tables are set up. I think the food is prepared somewhere else and carried to that floor.

We visited Chateau Vestavia. They were very nice and very congenial. It wasn’t a bad place, but when you hold them in comparison to the others we visited, it didn’t measure up. I think they still provided a good service. It did not have a pool, and it was a very small community. It was good, but it just wasn’t what we wanted. The room was an apartment-type.

Chateau Vestavia was very clean and well kept and did not look like what I imagined because it was kind of upscale. The lady who gave me the tour was great and explained everything. The room was small, but there was nothing wrong with it. The dining area was set up nicely. She told me about the outings, exercises, and activities they do. They were passing a balloon back and forth with each other, which was a kind of therapy, so there were sufficient things as far as activities go. I thought the facility was a nice, well-rounded place.
