My boyfriend's father was a resident of Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community. The grounds are beautiful. Everything was decorated for the holiday beautifully. The people there were very friendly. They have a koi pond. They had a library. They had a dining area. They had a movie theater. They had a little mailroom. He didn't have to go off-property to mail letters. They had some outside little areas for the community to have their own garden, which was very nice if they wanted fresh produce. It was very clean, and it felt almost like you were in a fancy mall. The ceilings in the actual rooms were a little low. I was in a one-bedroom and it had a little kitchenette, which was nice. If you wanted to be able to have your own fridge in your own area to cook a little bit, you could. If you didn't want to go to the dining room all the time, and if you wanted to be a little more independent, you could do so. I saw people coming and going. It was easy to get to an area close to Lifetime Fitness Gym and Publix. I mean, almost anything you could think of that you need is within about three miles. The Grandview Hospital is three miles away. So the location was fabulous, too. The staff was extremely nice. When I inquired about what it would cost to live there and if they could show me around, they were gracious about that. They've even called me back a few times to see if we're interested. It's pricey, but the food was fantastic and the living quarters seemed a little small to me.

I toured Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community and it was excellent. It was like a resort, and that's what I liked the most. It had everything. The food and the place looked nice. It looked like I was at a nice hotel. They had a theater, they had good food, wine tasting, and they had poker games. The room looked like a nice apartment. They had a menu of where you could choose what you wanted to eat, and a chef prepared them. They had so much freedom to eat what they wanted, and it's not unhealthy things that they're feeding them, and it's not crummy food that they're feeding them. I didn't taste it, but it just looked like I was at a hotel going into the restaurant. They had a salad bar, too.

What I like about the Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community is what they call aging in place, the cost, and the location. The staff members were excellent. The food was very good.

Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community is an independent living facility. This is just strictly apartment living, although they offer everything that you could imagine that you would ever want. There's foodservice and all kinds of special things. It's a wonderful place. The apartments are spacious and welcoming, and the staff was welcoming, they just didn't have any openings. They had an incredible line-up of activities, it is a very active community with all sorts of interest groups and opportunities. Jeanette was just a wonderful representative of the company, very knowledgeable, and had all sources of resources. We would have been delighted to write a check and say "We want to live here." But there are 20 people ahead of us, and the turnover is about 5 apartments a year, so that's not an option for us.

We had a nice tour at Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community. It was very detailed, the staff was very nice, and the residents there seemed to be happy. I didn't get to talk to that many of them, but from what I could see, they seem to be happy. They have a very nice facility with lots of things to do. I was impressed with the movie theater. It's a little bigger than most places I have visited, and I thought that was pretty nice. My only concern with them was that I did give them a deposit to be next in line for an apartment. I'm still waiting for my refund, which was considerable for me. It was $2500, and it's been a couple of weeks. It's independent living, and I thought the place was nice.

I like Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community and I would like for my dad to move there. I have a friend whose parents live there. I like that the apartment I want for him there has a private patiom, because then his visitors can come and park right outside his apartment and come right in. Because of COVID, they only allow one family member to come visit at this time. The food is also a lot better here than where he is now. It's a nicer and newer community, and designed with slightly disabled people in mind; where he lives now is just a regular apartment. Everything is well thought out. They don't have any care here, but Right at Home has an office there and you can hire them for an extra cost. They have their own television there and because of COVID, they're doing bingo and things like that on their TVs. They have a movie theater which is closed because of COVID, but they give you a different movie to watch on your TV every night. The staff is very nice, friendly, and helpful. I like that they have a separate counter for all the PPE. It's where you can get gloves, you can get your hands sanitized, your temperature taken, and where you can fill out paperwork. Their front desk is separate from that. They also gave my dad some baked goods that the chef made when he visited; he liked them.

Cahaba Ridge Retirement Community is lovely and I loved the lady who does their marketing. We had lunch there but I didn't think it was good. The facility is new and beautiful and the people are nice. They have a great ice cream machine. The price is very expensive though.

Both my parents are living at Cahaba Ridge. It is delightful. We are completely pleased with it. The apartment is big. It is a 2-bedroom-2-bath with a laundry facility. It also has a small kitchen. It is a huge stepdown from having a big house, but it is perfect for my parents' needs. Since the property is brand new, it is also sparkling. It has granite counter tops. It is very nice. They have prayer groups, Bible studies, and a garden club. They also provide transportation to appointments. The problem with this community is that it is only half-full because it has just opened, so it is going to take awhile for some of the activities to get going. However, the staff is very professional, incredibly pleasant, and friendly.

I will be moving soon to Cahaba Ridge. It's beautiful, the staff was very helpful, and I was pleased with everything I saw. They had a health club, a movie theater, and some dancing there.
