The Landmark of West Allis had very clean rooms. Their one-bedroom and two-bedrooms were decent sized, had enough closets, and spacious living areas. It had a pretty nice balcony and a pretty big and spacious kitchen where if you need a wheelchair, it would be very roomy. The two-bedroom also was spacious. It's got one walk-in shower. It's an independent living, but if you don't want to cook, somebody comes and leaves a menu of what dishes they're going to be cooking for that day. You sign up, you pay them, and then they bring it in hot to the people. They got vending machines as well as two nice libraries, a beauty shop, and a barbershop. I liked that they have a chute on every floor for the trash so you don't have to go all the way to the basement and drop off your trash. I liked that they have a washer and dryer on every floor, which would be good for the elderly. They have a big dining room where they hold private parties with your family. They said that visitors can come out of town and can stay in your apartment for up to two weeks. They have underground parking and outside parking, too. The lady who showed me around was very friendly. When I walked in, there was a group of people sitting in the lounge, and they were all just talking. What I liked about their location was that it's surrounded by a lot of stores. You got a Pick N Save grocery store in the back. You cross the street, you have a strip mall where you can do some shopping. That was pretty nice.

My Mom is a current resident of Landmark. She absolutely loves it here. Right now, during the pandemic, there is not as much going on, as is to be expected. But when it is safer, she'll go back to playing Bingo weekly, going to coffee hour, watching movies and sporting games in the community room, and simply visiting with other residents there. Sometimes there are craft events or holiday celebrations to bring people together. And the cocktail hour! We look forward to those events again soon. The staff is fabulous. There are only 3 (manager, asst mgr, and a maintenance man) and they don't live on premises, but they work so hard and are extremely responsive. They are a really big part of why we love the Landmark. Really nice people. There is not food made on premises (except at potlucks and parties), but there are several opportunities each month to order food that the management brings in - there's a monthly calendar, making it easy to order. Also, 5 days/week, an outside vendor, Kerry's Kitchen brings in different options in microwavable containers to make for dinner - only $7 for a generous meal. Very convenient and affordable and delicious. Also, each month there are some opportunities to go on the resident bus to Big Deal (great place!), Walgreens, and Pick 'n Save. Beauty shop on premises is a nice feature. We also like the library/puzzle room. Wish the workout room was a bit bigger with machines more geared toward seniors. But they do have some exercise classes. Also, there are social events with music, and opportunities to be with people. If you are in your apartment alone, it is only because you want to be (in non-Covid times), and that's fine, too. My Mom absolutely loves her apartment and says that all the time. It's pretty spacious. She enjoys looking out on the world from her balcony, where she has flowers and even some peppers and tomatoes. She's very happy there. The laundry machines are a few steps away for her - one on every floor. People are very friendly, and my sister and I enjoy going there to visit and getting to know the residents, It feels extremely safe to have her there, which was paramount to us. People look out for one another. Highly recommend the Landmark at West Allis.

I'm currently living at The Landmark of West Allis. It is well maintained as much as possible. I like the people and I like the programs. The place is nice. We only have a few staff members, e.g., a manager, assistant manager, and maintenance, but I love them. They're great. The place is good and large. There are amenities, like a community room, a woodshop, and a pool table. They usually bring in an entertainer every month, they have a bus that goes to Walmart, Walgreens, and Burger King, and they have different groups. There is something going on every day. On certain days of the week, they order out. If you want to do that, you can.

I took a tour of The Landmark of West Allis. I was impressed with the layout. The staff was very good to me, very nice, and friendly. What I really was impressed with was they introduced me to the residents that were out in the hallway. The facility was very nice and well kept.
