Everything in San Camillo is fine. The room is very expensive though, so I had to go into a smaller room -- which is a little difficult for me as I used to live in a 2 bedroom 2 bath. I had to give up all of that to be here, but it’s got many other benefits. The staff is changing, we had some very wonderful people a lot of them left, and they have been replaced by some other wonderful and not so wonderful. The whole staff is very accommodating. The food is probably the best thing we have here. We have a chef; he used to work for the president. It’s like a gourmet restaurant, and everybody is happy with it.

I have been a private caregiver of a resident in Senior Independent Living at San Camillo. Prior to this I worked as an EMT for an ambulance service for Milwaukee Waukesha & SE Wisconsin. I have had the opportunities, to work within almost every facility, in these above listed areas between both jobs. I love San Camillus Community ! Everyone is friendly, kind, & neighborly. I have experienced places that have a religious background " hold themselves" in a higher accountability to those they serve. There are many assorted activities available here to continue "community" actively with each other. This attributes to being social, and creates new friends, physical activity, positive mental health, enriched daily spiritual life. All Residents & employees help Seniors to be involved in life, which helps with loneliness many face, in their golden years. Residents encourage each other to attend meals and all activities, helping everyone to feel wanted, needed and cared about. San Camillus is kept very clean and tidy and quickly takes care of any maintenance needed. They provide many different types of skilled maintenance employees avail to handle any situation. Someone is always available to assist with medical emergencies. Meals are A-1. A large variety of meals including daily soups, assorted fruit and vegetable salads, 2 main entree selections, vegan meals and assorted beverages including "happy hour" drinks. Delishious desserts including sugar free items too ! They are very accommodating to special needs for foods. Staff are very professional and friendly. Anything you may need, they will be able to assist you with, or assist with getting you in contact with the appropriate people. This is a very Positive place to live, work and visit ! I only hear positive comments from residents and their families and workers who make this place, a place to work for years. I continuously recommend San Camillus Community for my own family and friends and acquaintances and am proud to be part of this Community, that is a positive home for our Seniors. I've worked in and visited many facilities, but this Religious based St Camillus Community is welcoming and always attentive to all needs and operates in highly respectable fashion in all aspects ! Feeling Blessed

San Camillo was very lovely. It looked like a village, and they had about a thousand residents. They have a big, big facility, and you don't have to go outside if you don't want to. It has a lot for people who are very active. You can buy a condominium and you pay for it with a lot of money, and then when you are ready to move on to the area where they can care for you, they'll buy that from you for like 90% of what you paid. But you pay a monthly fee, which is very expensive. The staff people were all around doing things. I saw a lot of staff when we went through the area where there was a lot of care needed. There was this one woman who was a little more able and she said we could go in her room, and her room was really nice. She had a nice view, and even though it was on a busy corner, she doesn't even know that it's there. Once you're in the building -- which was built very strong -- it's like it is all steel and it was all very quiet. The care that you get when you get to that point looked like it was really good.

San Camillo was accessible but the nursing home was very disappointing. They just give a tiny room with a bed, a dresser, a table and a light. It had a small bathroom. The dining room was small but acceptable and the food was good. However, the nursing care was substandard. The caregivers don't really bathe the patients as often as they should. It seemed to me, when it came to the nursing home level, they dropped off significantly. My father-in-law's wife ended up diapering and washing him down and doing a lot of things you would expect a caregiver to do. So, she was there spending a lot of her time taking care of him.

San Camillo is an excellent assisted living facility which takes great care of their patients, at least from my personal experience. My relatives are served daily by nurses, doctors, culinary staff, cleaning staff and security in an operation which appears to pride itself on comprehensive coverage for its residents based on their needs. the facilities themselves are clean and well taken care of, and there are options for recreation, religious practice, social interaction and other activities which seem to keep my family satisfied. The only complaint, which may be unfair, is that the parking lot is too small for the number of patients they house, but there are only a few occasions in which limited parking has really been an issue; this is a great assisted-living home.
