- Special Comment: Heritage Homes is pioneering the "dementia friendly" initiative in Watertown. Our goal is to make all Watertown businesses, through training, inclusive to anyone with a memory loss. We have also implemented a monthly memory café, a place where those with memory loss and their care partners can meet in a safe and friendly environment. On campus, we utilize state-of-the-art sensor technology to enhance the care provided to our residents. Best of all, Heritage Homes is a Christian community that provides for the spiritual, physical, mental and emotional needs of the people entrusted to our care and others whose lives we touch.

Heritage Homes was very nice. It was a little smaller. It wasn't brand new like the other place was, but the view was very pretty. It had a nice lawn and nice patios and balconies off of each apartment. The apartment that we saw was very well-appointed and looked nice. It's on the opposite end of town from a lot of the activities that my mother participates in. They didn't have a restaurant, so the only food service available was ordering like with DoorDash or something like that, and in Watertown, there were not a lot of restaurants, so that was lacking. I did not meet any staff. It was a private resident that gave us a tour. I called for several weeks trying to get a call back from someone, and I couldn't get anyone to call me back. It was clean, but it was dark, dingy, and old. It wasn't very welcoming. I didn't want to show the place to my mother.

I went to look at Heritage Homes. The apartments were very nice. It just seemed to have everything that hopefully my mom would want. We only met the lady who toured us. She was very thorough and very accommodating. They have followed up with us to know if there was anything else that they could do. They do not serve food for independent living. They have a kitchen facility if you want to have a gathering or anything like that, but they do not serve meals. In the apartments themselves, they had a washer, dryer, stove, refrigerator, air conditioning, and walk-in bath. The only thing they didn't have was a dishwasher. They have a community room and little rooms here and there with little fireplaces where you can sit and gather. They had a workshop room where you could do crafts and things like that. They had an underground garage. Each room has its own furnace. They had a fitness room and a chapel.
