My mother-in-law will be moving into Regency New Berlin Senior Living. It's a beautiful facility. It's well-run and very organized. I love the program that they have where they have an ambassador who's going to be taking her around the complex for a whole month and making sure she knows her way around and things like that. I've known the facility for many years now and I've got other friends that are living there and it's just superbly run. There are a lot of benefits to being there. She can move to assisted living or memory care. We have a concern that she might have some memory care issues coming down the road. The rooms are very nice. We're renting her a two-bedroom, and it's going to be as spacious as it can be for her. She's coming from a condo after 33 years and it's quite a large condo, so we're going to make her as comfortable as possible in a two-bedroom. They refreshed the whole place, and put on new paint and carpeting. They're getting it ready for her to move in November. They have a computer room, an onsite beauty parlor, and a beautiful dining room. She can do three meals a day if she wants. They have theater and they have lots of functions that they plan. Friday evenings after dinner, they have entertainment usually in the dining room. I was there to enjoy that one day when we were visiting there. It was very good entertainment. This young man was playing the piano and singing. They take people to the grocery store if they need to. They have outings for the people, and they have a fitness room. It's all within one building and there's plenty of walking ability there. There's a lot of exercises she can have now being in a facility like that and she has these pull cords in her room, so she's got an avenue to let people know if she needs help. They also check on you. They have to flip a switch every morning to let them know that they're up and going so that they know they're OK and they're ready for the day's activities. I'm very excited to have her move in there. On top of that, it's close to where we live so we can be there for her. I haven't tried the food yet, but I know we can go there and dine with her as often as we like. We'll have a family night where we go dine with her in the dining room. I've seen the people in the dining room enjoying dinner on several occasions that we've been there. One of the other ladies in our church is also living there and she said the food is OK. A lot of people in their own residences like to do their own cooking, but I see my mother-in-law attending their restaurant more often because she doesn't do any cooking per se anymore except for frozen dinners and things like that. I just like the fact that they have a well-rounded meal plan there, too, so they get good nutrition.

We went to look at Regency New Berlin Senior Living. It was modern and up-to-date. They had a lot of activities. The staff members were very nice, informative, and took the time to answer all of our questions. They had a fitness center, underground parking, a car wash station, a game room, and a lounge that was like a bar.

The Regency New Berlin was most appealing to me, because the rates are better, and you can go for one week, two weeks, to four weeks, for respite. The rooms were nice, very clean, large, and very well furnished with a lot of amenities. The meals are included in your price, but there is a little microwave in your room and a little refrigerator in your unit. She showed us the kitchen, we met the cook, and the people seemed very busy and pleasant there.

We visited Regency New Berlin Senior Living. The biggest plus that they had was they were in the process of building on another level of care, and that was important to me. So, when my dad started to decline, we could keep him in the same facility and just put him in a different wing for more care. The staff who assisted us, Lisa, was very good. The only thing I didn't like about that facility was that they had mini-sized refrigerators and no stoves in the units.

My husband's aunt is still at Regency New Berlin Senior Living. She is familiar with everything there. She uses the same nursing assistants and the same people all the time. She knows where everything is. However, I don't like that they have a turnover and changes happen, and they don't always make you aware of those changes. They have people come in for entertainment. I think they have a Protestant church and a Catholic church. They have games and play cards. However, my husband's aunt is quiet and doesn't like to do that. They have movies and singalongs. There are always things for her to do. She likes to walk, that is her thing, but they do not have a walking club. They have an exercise room, and somebody is there that teaches the exercise class. However, they're having difficulty hiring people. The facility is old, but it's clean enough.

The tour at Regency New Berlin Senior Living was fantastic, and my mother is moving there. We love the girl that we worked with, we liked the atmosphere, and we liked that they had a lot of activities. It was a cheerful place, it was like a country club for my mom. And she's excited to go. During the day they have painting. They have something every day. They have an arts and crafts room, a game room, and they have a pub. And in the evenings they have social things, and each floor gets together on its own in the evenings, and socializes because it's four floors. It just seems like a very active place. The grounds are very nice, there's a place to walk, they have an exercise class, and they have a garden and an atrium. The rooms are nice and there's a lot to choose from. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they can choose what they want to do. They can just pay as they go. My mom has a full kitchen there, so she's planning to do maybe one meal a day there downstairs. And they have a seafood thing on Friday nights that a lot of them go to. There are a lot of people who also do their own cooking. And on Tuesday nights, they have like a special specialty night, like Mexican or pasta or something like that.

Regency New Berlin Senior Living was a larger facility that had more respite apartments. I toured those and found them to be very, very nice. It was a very nice facility, even my mother liked it. It is probably what we are going to do respite care. After the assessment, we'll go from there. First of all, what made me choose them is that they had availability for respite care. I wouldn't have to wait until the last minute to find out. They gave me directions as to what the next steps would be. They suggested that I get my mother in for her health assessment. We could complete that and get that taken care of. It was very good because our doctor's offices are right next door, and they do work with them. They talked about activities. They showed me the dining area. They talked about activities that include cooking classes, arts and crafts, and that type of thing. They explained how their staffing worked and how many nurses they had on staff during the day. They had nursing assistance 24 hours. I really was impressed with their facility. It was very, very nice. My mother will be in assisted living for like six days.

We were impressed with ProHealth Care Regency Senior Communities New Berlin. The person who showed us around was very helpful. And this is a place that has 155 apartments in their buildings, with 150 new ones. They have a waiting list. It's owned by ProHealth, and ProHealth has a big clinic right next door to it. It's primarily assisted living and independent living, but also on the property, not owned by them, is a full-service nursing center with rehabilitation facilities.

Please read all the fine print. You will be expected to pay rent even after the loved one dies while living there. You need to vacate everything before they will even consider showing the apartment for rent. Make sure you are aware of that. Rooms are small. Staff is friendly if you suck up to them. It is just a job there. They consider this "industry standard". The food is so-so. I cannot stress enough about reading everything. As the population ages, we should be more aware of senior financial abuse. You don't always get what you pay for. I am scare for my future.

I was very impressed with ProHealth. It was a very nice community, but very expensive as well. The rooms they showed me were very nice. The staff that I dealt with was fine, they also had a lot of activities. They also had physical therapy facilities.

Regency Assisted Living in New Berlin was a really nice, well-lit, clean facility. The staff was OK. There's a little biography of the resident in their room, which is a nice touch.

We visited Regency, and that seemed like a very nice place, but a little more expensive although the rooms seemed new and modern. They do have activities like bingo, scrabble, and bus trips; they seemed to have activities every night. The place is very secured.

My grandfather was placed in this facility. While visiting my grandfather had been placed on the toilet and left for too long a time also. When somebody did come into the room they seemed very bothered by having to take care of it. Since then, my grandfather has passed away. I would not reccommend this facility. I felt disappointed in his care. Many times ignored and not taking the time to understand him. They only did what was required. I expected more from this facility.

I visited the facility with the New Berlin 4-H group as a part of a yearly visit before I went to college to entertain and help the elderly feel appreciated. The staff was kind and accommodating, and the facility itself was kept very clean. They provided everything that we would need to entertain: bingo, checkers, Yahtzee, etc. When a patient was being unruly, they were handled nicely and without trouble. Some patients were eager to interact and tell stories about their kids and their families or times past as the visit went on. Some were incredibly lucky (one rolled more than five freaking yahtzees in one game!). When a patient would fall asleep they were escorted back to their rooms, if on wheel chair, otherwise gently awoken and escorted back to their rooms.I'm not a person who's terribly fond of visiting assisted living facilities, but I genuinely had a better time than I had expected to have.

My grandmother lived at this facility for over one year, in both levels of the assisted living. The location is very good. The front desk staff were pleasant, and the facility is very nice. However, I don't feel like they were very responsive to my grandmother's needs. My mom and I feel she was often ignored (so much so that we moved her to another facility). She was often left on the toilet for over an hour, or not helped when she fell down. Granted, she didn't wear or want to use her emergency response button, but she should've been checked on more. I think her treatment at this facility is endemic of most nursing homes in the United States. Would I want to appoint this facility for me or my mom? No, I think there are nicer places in the Milwaukee area (ie, Franciscan Village and those on Bluemound Road).

My father lived in Independent living at the Regency for 5 years. The heating and air conditioning were very hard to control. A/C was very noisy. When he died, we worked very hard to clean out his apt. by the end of the month and spoke several times to front office staff. No one bothered to tell us that his contract required payment of one more month's rent. That extra time would have allowed us to sell rather than give away some of his furnishings. It also would have reduced the stress level immensely. Instead the Regency benefitted and had a month to update apartment on our money.

Regency Assisted Living is a lovely home in New Berlin for people who can no longer care for themselves as before. I had my dad placed there after he became dependent on others for his activates of daily living. Being a nurse I know what to look for and want in assisted living which was a help in choosing this facility He was happy at Regency since the building was located on what had once been his parent's farm he would say he felt at home. Regency was a very well kept building.very clean and furnished very nicely. The nursed and CNA's were respectful and helpful to him. They enjoyed him and he them since he was quite the joker the staff just went along with him. He never complained there. The food was good and he had an adequate amount. It was the type of food that appealed to the elderly nothing fancy just meat and potatoes. His laundry was done for him and returned in a timely fashion. He never so much as missed a sock which is common in large facilities. They had activities that interested him and some of the other men---a good card game. Once a week they had party night and the residents could have a beer which was a thrill for him since he worked 37 years at Miller Brewery in Milwaukee. I would highly recommend Regency Assisted Living to anyone.
