We visited Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster, Wisconsin. We would have liked to get my mom in there, but they were full. That is the homiest place and because it's out in the country and the city limits, every window has a beautiful view. The rooms were maybe slightly larger than the one my mom is currently in and it was just so beautifully decorated. They also do tons of activities for everyone. As far as how it looked, that was the best place ever. It just didn't even seem like a place for the elderly. I could have moved in there and just been comfortable. They had many places outside for the residents to go sit in and do tons of activities. The staff seemed equally as nice too. If we could have put my mom at Morningside, we would have. It was closer and it was just beautiful. I would recommend it to anybody if they could get in there and place their parents. It was just a nice place. I was originally from Lancaster, so my mom would have known quite a few of the people of the clients that were in placement there, which would have been a really neat thing. I think their clientele is a little less severe than where my mom is right now. They just made it a nice place. They have a room where they just watch a football game and then they have drinks on a Friday night. They just make it a really fun place. You could also tell it had good maintenance because there was nothing wrong with it, it was just a beautiful place.

This facility was fantastic. The staff cares greatly for every resident there and tries to make the residents stays as pleasant as possible. I saw that the staff really knew their residents (like friends, more than caretakers). After visiting other assisted living facilities in the area, this one was a breath of fresh air in how well each resident is treated.Aside from the personalized care that each resident receives, the facility itself is also top notch. Residents are allowed to live with relative independence, but with the knowledge that support will be given as needed. Activities are planned with groups of residents. I took part in one such activity, and the staff made sure that each person attending had a great time.Overall, I learned a lot about the facility that can help me at work, but more than that, I learned about the facility on a more personal level. I would feel safe knowing that a member of my family lived at Morningside!
