My uncle is at St. Paul Elder Services. For the most part, it's been very good. The only thing is that once we finally got him set up to go in there, it was a little difficult to get a hold of people, and to get phone calls back. Other than that, his care seems to be great; the staff seems great. He's very happy and satisfied there. Overall, it's been a pretty good experience. We haven't been inside because of Covid, but it's a pretty nice facility.

My stepmom was at St. Paul Elder Services. She was in their memory care locked down unit, and it was all good. The staff was friendly. Her room was large. Activities wise we did the rosary once a week, musicals twice a week, and board games in the first section. In the second section she was in there was not much to do as far as activities because nobody was moving or doing anything. They would just sleep in their chairs because this step was the last wing. They were very good. She was well taken care of there. She was comfortable, and during COVID they would send pictures to my stepsister and she would post them online so we could see her. Her immediate family was allowed to go and stay with her while she was in hospice and they got to stay overnight with her, so she was never alone. They were very good to her and to us. I took my dad there every Sunday for lunch. The food was very nutritious. They covered all the fruits and vegetables, and it was well balanced. It was pretty messy in that wing. It was pretty hard to maintain that unit.

My mother had rehab in St. Paul Elder Services. She enjoyed her stay, and our experience with the place was great. Her room was just a rehab room, not like the rooms for long-term care but it had what she needed. The staff members were good. They had activities for the residents even though she couldn't do any of them. The layout of the place was good, and the price was worth it.

My husband Tom was there for 2 weeks at the rehab facility. St. Paul is beautifu and the staff were all so kind. I would recommend them to anyone that needs short term or long term care. Thank you especially to Heather, Laura, Noelle, and Danny for the time spent at our house.

I was at St Paul in Kaukauna. I visited a friend who was in rehab. I think I walked in the assisted living part to get to the nursing home part. It was all very nice. The rooms are very large, and the facility has a good reputation.

St. Paul Villa was Mom's first choice because she had been at their rehab facility for a rehab after a hip surgery a few years ago. She really liked this facility. She knew a lot of people who were already there; however, the place was way over our price range. It was a beautiful facility with great people. The rooms were very large and very comfortable. They were really nice, clean, and big. The staff was very nice and very professional. They had all kind of activities going on. They have different exercise classes, movies, bingo, little cooking seminars, and knitting seminars. What I liked best about this was that it was the most well kept and most modern place. If you can afford it, I would recommend this place.

The place is wonderful. Mom was rehabbing from a fall and planning for assisted living when she became ill. She went to the hospital for a few days, got her treatment options and chose non-aggressive, palliative care and to return to St. Paul for what was the last week of her life. I quote from her obituary to express the whole family's feelings: "Special heartfelt thanks go out from the family of (mom) to ... and the amazing wonderful people of St. Paul Elder Services Nursing Home, where (mom) spent her last days sleeping in peace and comfort with her family at her side. Everyone involved in her care showed such love and respect for (mom) the family is overwhelmed with gratitude for their kindness."

My father (I am his oldest son) resided at St. Paul during the last few years of his life. The facility and the staff provided excellent care. I, as his legal "personal representative," found the facility to be extremely helpful and diligent in taking care of the financial arrangements and details which can be so difficult and stressful. The only reason I rate this facility at 4 stars is because of the staffing situation - but I would rate all other local facilities at 3 stars in this category. Staffing shortages are endemic in our area but the St. Paul Home is doing better than the rest of the facilities in our area. While I wish I could give them five stars, they are better than all the others but in this area, every long-term care facility needs to improve.

My Mother-in-Law was a resident of the new swing bed unit in order to rehabilitate after her knee replacement surgery. The facility was fairly odor free in comparison to other facilities in the area that I have visited. The room appeared clean and comfortable. The real reason for the lower score was due to the actual care provided to her. She was having difficulty getting to the bathroom on her own. My wife was of the impression that her care was only adequate if my wife was present. My Mother-in-Law was continuously wetting the bed due to lack of staff attention. The answer the facility came up with, without consultation with resident or family, was to put her in a diaper. This was very disturbing to the resident. We demanded they allow her to continue to get up and go to the bathroom with appropriate staff attention. The staff switched the walker while the resident was sleeping and unknown to resident. When the resident woke and attempted to go to the bathroom on her own the walker had wheels and she fell on her back. She ended up with a stress fracture in her back. The facility Director acted quickly and appropriately transferred the resident to a different facility with adequate staffing levels to meet the needs.
