I will be moving into Van Vista Assisted Living. It looked almost like a hotel. It had lovely grounds around its lovely parking areas. It didn't look like your standard assisted living place. I liked the fact that it was very well-staffed and the people were very caring. It was located right in downtown Vancouver and they will make sure that I get to my doctor appointments. The building was 10 stories high, and there are 12 rooms on each floor. There are 4 caretakers and 2 medics on each floor. So, it's very well-staffed. I'm having a 1-bedroom apartment that is quite large, with a large kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a really large bathroom. The kitchen had a refrigerator and a microwave. In one of the cupboards, I would have a locked box to keep my valuables in. I would also have a lovely view of the Columbia River. The staff was very personable. She showed me the craft room, the laundry room, and the place where I could get my nails done. They would also be doing all of my laundry for me. They would serve 3 meals a day, and there was an extensive menu to choose from. They also had a small store with snacks and stuff that was open 3 times a day. And then they had a snack menu for your late-night snack, if you wish. You would just order that with your dinner and take it back to your room to have it later. The dining area was like a restaurant with lovely tables and chairs and servers that would bring you your meals. And they would also send a tray of food to your room if you need to be served in your room.
