Mom seems to like Cascade Park Vista. She's very happy there and I'm quite happy with it. They take very good care of her and she loves the staff. The facilities are pretty nice. It's not a brand-new building, but they take good care of it. They take them on day trips/different outings, they have a craft room, they do exercises classes, and birthday parties. She'd like a more variety of meals and more proportion though.

My friend moved into Cascade Park Vista. It was close to the hospital. Her doctor recommended her being close to the hospital because she has bone cancer. It's an older building. It used to be a hotel and then they turned and changed it into assisted living. Somebody bought it 25 years ago. So they're remodeling it. They have Bible study and they have an arts and crafts room. They didn't have a studio apartment for my friend, so they put her into a one-bedroom apartment temporarily until a studio became available. The one-bedrooms are for couples, and they're a little more expensive, but right now they have her there. And so we're trying to get her to the hospital and when she went there, I was not very impressed at that part because she had a bed, they gave her a bed and it was made. They gave her a dresser and a nightstand with a lamp. They gave her a table with a little chair by the kitchen. In the living room, they did not give her any chairs to sit on, and she didn't have a TV. There was a little cabinet there for a TV, but finally, they gave her a TV that somebody had left there. And we brought in her recliner and a chair. They did supply the refrigerator and the microwave.

Cascade Park Vista had a very pleasant environment. The staff was extremely friendly. It was an old hotel that was turned into an assisted living. The rooms were clean. It had a good dining room. They had family dinners once a month, and they go to the grocery once a week. They had a movie room and a game room.

I have visited Cascade, and I'm waiting on it right now. One thing I like most about it is that they accept Medicaid. It is very difficult to find assisted living that accepts Medicaid. They all want private pay. The staff seemed fine to me at that time. They were also friendly. Also, the rooms were nice; they weren't like hotel rooms.
