My husband has moved into Josephine Caring Community. They have room and they saved it for him. He was in the hospital. They took him in immediately, and it went automatically to Medicaid payment. We don't have any out-of-pocket expenses. It was done seamlessly, and they were so kind and helpful. The staff was very good and very knowledgeable, and they allowed for site visits while he was in the hospital before we made our decision. My daughter and son went to see the facility, and they were impressed and very pleased with what they saw. Their staff was extremely responsive; in all the other places that I called, I got voice mail. In calling them, I got a live person who was so extremely helpful in making this work out for us. Each time after that, when we're calling to check in, we always get a human.

Josephine Sunset Home smelled like urine. It was not a place I would want to be. Their staff was nice, but the facility wasn’t clean. I wouldn’t even go past the front door. My mother-in-law would not like that. They need to improve on the cleanliness and the smell of the place. It was just atrocious.

I visited Josephine Sunset. They were very cordial. It was clean. The food was a little more pedestrian. The dining room was certainly nothing to scream and shout about and it was dreary. I actually kind of liked the apartments better than the other place I visited. I thought it was a little larger and they did have microwaves and refrigerators. I would recommend it. The things that was lacking there that the other place had was the concern to people that were still pretty active. The people there all had dementia and they catered to those people a little better.

My grandmother had the best life there for 5 years and my family never needed to do anything other than visit and participate in the many activities there. The staff is among the best you'll find anywhere. They know care for the whole person in addition to top notch medical care. The inter-generational aspect is unique to this place and is great for both the kids and residents! At the initial time of submission I was contacted almost immediately by a representative from this facility, who was very pleasant, informative and caring. Grandmother was treated with love and respect by all the staff. Kudos to the therapy and nursing teams that got her strong and back to her apartment.

Residents are treated with utmost respect...aides and staff are most helpful and attentive...meals are nutritious and served in a dining room setting unless the residents needs requires meals in their rooms. The facility is unique in that it has a child care unit and on occasion the children interact with the assisted living wing...it is a lovely thing for both young and elder. Many activities and day trips are a regular part of the daily routine. Though the building itself is old, as in heirloom, it is spacious and beautifully maintained...outside, as well as individual and common rooms. The grounds are especially wonderful with abundant trees, flowers, and shrubbery with a gazebo nestled among the flora...many birds abound and two resident kitties provide affection and entertainment. I believe it to be one of the best, if not the best, facility of its kind in our state.
